guyoline - March 16, 2008 10:12 PM (GMT)
I won't lie to you but I am so glad this series is back. It's lush. And oh its too funny with the "black man" in the resturant, and Sherridan Smith as Smithy's sister :) and oh his reaction was great and Alison Steadman is so wonderful as Pam, with the sausages  and the singing when you could hear the bed springs. and I knew she was going to ask for an Omlet at the end. It's such a simple story but it works so amazingly well I love it.
although I was thinking about how cute James and lily Allen are through most of it. and how she does a very funny welsh accent. I may have to watch that again.
oiyoupingpongman - March 16, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
What was the significance of the omelette? I didn't get it.
LOVED the bit with the bed springs going and they all started talking loudly and then when she put the radio on and started dancing and you could see her face drop when it got to the chorus. HAHAHA I nearly choked on my potato!
guyoline - March 16, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
well you see stacey's mum? that's all she makes, in the whole of the last series when people were over she would always be like "shall i cook you an omlette?" and then there was the story near the end where she said "you can't make an omlette unless you crack the eggs" or somehting like that
i'm a geek, i know the ongoing jokes
although I never got the whole "Shipman" and "West" joke until i watched that interview with lily Allen
newestgreenwingfan01 - March 17, 2008 01:11 PM (GMT)
:) two words: Absolutely fantastic.
Id forgotten how absolutely fantastic and brilliant all the main cast were. Love Smithy now, he was so sweet to Nessa in the second half of the second episode, offering to go to the scan with her and saying hell be there and wont F off.
And Gavin and Stacey are my favourite fictional couple, theyre so realistic and so amazingly cute.
And I officially adore Rob Brydon and Alison Steadman even more....
Yes im thrilled Gavin and Stacey is back on TV. :D
Chapman - March 17, 2008 04:19 PM (GMT)
I Love This!!!
i watched the new series last night, and have never watched it before, and both me and my brother were in hysterics, im sure each episode was about 5 minutes long though, i am now trying to find where it is on the internet to watch the first series. I loved it all, veyr clever, funny writing, and the cast is great.
I do think mathew horne is quite fit, but he does look rather like burn gorman, infact my brother thought it was the same person.
guyoline - March 17, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
IMO he looks better then Burn but yes i see the similaraties
they repeated it all on BBC 3 a few weeks ago but I guess they may do it again I dunno
otherwise maybe
http://www.videolemon.com/browse.php?c=1 they may have it but I haven't checked
Chapman - March 17, 2008 10:02 PM (GMT)
thanks, i have found ep 1,3 and 4, and am now intrigued. It is great!i am addicted.
guyoline - March 23, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
oh another lovely episode, did you see the bit where smithy said hi to nessa and they were about to hug but they didn't I was well gutted i love them both!
Guilt sweets, I think if anyone offers me sweets I'm going to have a lot of questions for them!
and Stacey is jokes, having a convo about brunch - sounds like something Bryn would say
and the Gym, is it trying to say that Bryn COULD be gay?? I love how the old lady seems to fancy Gavin :roflmao
and Nessa's shouting "oh! oh!! OH! OH!!!!!" ah she rules
the quote of the day is definately:
"How many neurofen would I need"
"you? you would need hundreds"
"i can't afford that, not if I want to go on holiday this year" Classic
and Rudi is rather great, is it me or does she remind you a bit of Donna from Catherine Tate?
and I love how Stacey watched Loose Women, i always do that when I'm at home, If I got married and didn't have a job that's soo what i would do
Chapman - March 23, 2008 11:42 PM (GMT)
aww i loved tonights episode, especially the end bit, with the babies aww,
loved how terrified gavin looked with the next door oldiey, and then smithy and bryn!
oiyoupingpongman - March 24, 2008 06:30 PM (GMT)
Classic moments this week included...
That "I can't afford that if I want to go on holiday this year" line was solid gold!
Bryn and Nessa's duet!
Gavin's mums (whose name I always forget) names for her friends 'no-more-fat-Pat' and 'no-man-Pam' or whatever they were! Also, her reaction to Staceys brunch story.
The gym. No more need be said  Definitely suggesting Bryn is gay (though possibly doesn't know it) further evidenced by the trailer for next week when he talks about losing count of the times he's watched Brokeback Mountain. Lol
I also love Smithys sister and the batty old next door neighbour. Actually all the characters on this show are so well constructed. They are just eccentric versions of real people.
Chapman - March 24, 2008 07:37 PM (GMT)
how come i always miss the trailers! but i wont lie to you, i LOVE this propramme, i watched it on iplayer, but will wtahc it tonight cos recorded it on the tv, as my parents wanted to watch that no1 ladies detective agency.
guyoline - March 24, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
the trailer wasn't on the i-player episode :cry
but if you go on the bbc three main site they have a clip from next week of them trying to buy a flat :roflmao - is all I can say
and oh my gosh the singing totally pwnd!
I still love her strange form of anger when the people were trying to shake the machines
I think I should buy series 1 - but I need more money first, unless i manage to find it really cheap
xjessx - March 25, 2008 11:09 AM (GMT)
Didnt like it to start with, but watched all six eppies on bbc2 the other week cos i couldnt sleep, and it has really grown on me!
My fav is pregnant woman whose name always fails me!
Most of all i love than one of is Essexafied! That fact they remind me fo essex Boi's means there doing it right!
guyoline - March 30, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
how amazing and funny was this episode
especially the end which made me explode with squee because I love them two soo much
and the story about masturbating between smithy and Stacey :roflmao
and the "we're not going to KFC!" "WHAT!"
and that flat was awful
and I love how everyone was so excited about how Gavin's dad was on the news like it was a good thing
oh this show rules
especially the welshness the accent and the words in general just rule!
oiyoupingpongman - March 30, 2008 11:33 PM (GMT)
The oven gloves! lol.
I like all Nessa's eccentricities. Like her stories about working with famous people, and her 'Oh!' before most sentences, and the 'I'm not going to lie to you'
She is fantastic.
guyoline - March 31, 2008 12:01 AM (GMT)
the flirting about the corn on the cob thing was too funny though
I love nessa's "OH!" it brilliant and is her "I won't lie to you" "No word of a lie" and her "tidy" i like it when stacey says "lush" too i think those phrases are rubbing off on me
I think I'm going to have to watch it all again tomorrow and the AC's from the dvd becase i need cheering up and this is the best thing i think...
oiyoupingpongman - March 31, 2008 09:19 PM (GMT)
'lush' yeah! Thats what I really like about G&S. The characterization is incredible!
guyoline - March 31, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
for dinner last night after watching G&S I had to have a cheese and ham omlette
i'm sure gwen's are a lot better then mine
and on the dvd there is a bit about how they created the show - it's really funny jut because it's quite strange and i always forget that Jo who plays stacey is in Love Actually bless her
and the leistcer square stuff is on youtube somewhere...
did you know that the stripper in series 1 is a real stripper and so his voice is actually James cordon's (Smithy) in a welsh/west country accent :roflmao
guyoline - April 1, 2008 02:51 AM (GMT)
I'm still awake and quite bored so if you are on LJ then you can join my community
http://community.livejournal.com/gavin_stacey/
Lisa289 - April 3, 2008 04:23 PM (GMT)
"Oh, what's occurring"? :roflmao Love it.
And my fiance is always saying "tidy" now. It winds me up a bit.....
guyoline - April 6, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
nowhere near as good as the last few weeks but still funny
i love stressed Bryn and the fishing trip story returns haha!
and Islands in the stream and that dance to go with
I love all the singing I also love the bit where Smithy turned up at Gavin's house
I knew she would stay behind I was waiting for that to happen from the start of the episodreally, I love her new dress and hair though she looked buff
I love jealous smithy  brilliant they are a couple I want to get together but don't at the same time
Ruth Jones has a lovely voice :)
oiyoupingpongman - April 8, 2008 06:57 PM (GMT)
I loved this episode - all Bryns stressing and his outfit "Denim Jeans!" and they mentioned Hollyoaks! Lol and Doris is the best pensioner ever "She's rejected me as a friend on Facebook" LOL
Jealous Smithy! I really want them to get together too, but I dont think it will happen. Obviously Gav and Stace can't split up because then the title of the show might seem a little bit pointless.
The singing! The dances! :heart
Chapman - April 8, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)
oh ye, i never thought about the title, but i guess if they did split up, then the show wouldnt continue,
but ruth does have a very good voice!
xjessx - April 8, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
My mum says they right certain words in the scpript cos they like the way Stacey says them.!! How sweet!
guyoline - April 8, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
yeah I think they said that jo is pratically stacey so once she was cast it was even eaiser to write for her
I don't want it to be the last one next week :( I hope it's not and that it's a longer series then last year but I'm not sure
and they are currently writing a christmas special yay :excited
oiyoupingpongman - April 8, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
Its not the last! Theres 7! Yaaaaaaaaaay :D
guyoline - April 8, 2008 10:16 PM (GMT)
oh yay :excited I'm glad as I was wondering how they were going to sort out this homesick mess and also have Nessa's baby (as it looks like it should come sometime soon and makes sense for her to give birth this series...) in one episode - but if it's two then yay, i'm so going to miss it when it's inished :(
newestgreenwingfan01 - April 14, 2008 06:19 PM (GMT)
:) :) :) :) :)
I fricking LOVE this show!!!
Uncle Bryn's tres awkward scenes with Jason.... "do you ever think about it?"
"lets set up camp... I mean BASE."
Gavin and Stacey both missing each other like mad and that ending... Okay my inner sentimentalist was satisfied.
Smithy looking at that pregnant woman in the club and then panning to Nessa and Dave mirroring pregnant woman and her boyfriends actions.... For once, i wanted to hug him.
:cry :cry :cry Cant believe its over next week!!!
But theres always DVDs :)
guyoline - April 14, 2008 06:36 PM (GMT)
when they started playing snow patrol at the end I was welling up,
I squeed when Smithy looked at the pregnant woman and I clapped for joy at the end
I am so in love with this show, and I miss my s1 now because Hattie has it even though i only gave it to her yesterday I want it back already :)
just gives me an excuse to over there and watch it with her lol :D
the fishing trip is driving me mad as I wanna know what it is but like I said to Hollie last night: it's like the time war - as much as we want to know what / how it happened it will never match up to the thorught and guesses of what it is like in our heads
oiyoupingpongman - April 14, 2008 06:56 PM (GMT)
The ending was beautiful, with the slow-mo foam and everything.
Not knowing what happened on the fishing trip is eating me up inside.
