Title: The Taming Of The Shrew

I saw this last week and was very impressed. Oli stars alongside Rachel Stirling (Maybe Baby, Tipping the Velvet). The cast also includes Leon Tanner who played Beatrice's father in Much Ado (RSC last season alongside Tamsin).
The play is in what was once a music hall which has so much character that it has almost a haunting quiality. Oli is, of course, incredibly funny and a head taller than any other cast member. The director has treated the principal issue of the play, what would not be associated with domestic violence, in such a way that one does not feel uncomfortable watching it and is able to empathise greatly with the lead female role. Although the interpretation, with Oli first being part of the audience then becoming part of the play could be percieved as confusing, the play is entertaining and a great example of how Shakespeare should be done.

No, although the audience space is relatively small, he comes in "drunk" at the beginning and collapses on the stage (watch his right hand throught this scene!). Oli plays Petruchio- the protagonist. It's at the Wilton's. Hope you get the chance to see it!
