Title: Spaced
Description: Great Sitcom

cheddargorge - September 14, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)
Has anyone else heard of this absolute legend of a sitcom? I love it, and well... i just love it. So feel free to discuss it with me!!

LittleMissMercy - September 15, 2005 11:18 PM (GMT)
It does indeed rock, having paramount comedy it's on most months as well as at some point I will be able to quote it :D

JiminyWings - September 16, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
Hey there, very nice to have a new member join the site. A warm welcome to you. Spaced, is, as you rightly said.... excellent!! I never get to see any reruns though - when are they on? Sir Simon Pegg should be knighted, if he hasn't already been??

Has he? Oh.

cheddargorge - September 17, 2005 01:33 PM (GMT)
I agree completly. He and Jessica Stevenson both with the knight hood. What about a program called "The Day Today"? It was on a while ago but stars Christopher Morris - The guy who did Brasseye. Is also a legend.
So what is your favourite episode of spaced? I think mine would have to be the one where Daisy buys Colin. I think it's awesome. I love the flashback to where she's pulling a box along on a lead. Still makes me collpase laughing after all this time! Anyway, must be off, am meant to be doing coursework... *laughs at the thought of actually doing work*. Hope to get some replies!

cheddargorge - September 18, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
*waits and hopes for a reply* :pelt

cheddargorge - September 18, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
Oh, I didn't realise that that was a pelting emoticon. How about this one?

cheddargorge - September 18, 2005 08:25 PM (GMT)
Mmm, better.

JiminyWings - September 18, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
Hi there. Ok, so my favourite episode would have to be 'Mettle' from series 2. The one where Mike and Tim prepare Private Iron... actually TFU!!.
"This is Robot Club. the first rule is you don't talk about Robot Club. The second rule is you don't talk about… no, sorry, it's no smoking". Do you know what is happening about a third series? I heard there will be one, but I have no idea when?

So, I'm ashamed to say I have never seen The Day Today, or Brasseye either :( . The only Brasseye clip I have ever seen is when Morris tricked celebrities into believing cake was a real drug... is that the right show?

Hmm, so you posted 3 replys in the space of 3 minutes - in a nice way, are you ok? :P hehe

cheddargorge - September 19, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
Lol, yes I am fine... or so the doctors tell me after 6 months of therapy... but that's another story...
Yes, that is a good one. Is that the one where daisy works at the kebab place? Awesome. I like the bit where she pretends to be phillipa forester: "There's nothing more devestating than a big chopper..." Awesome. I say awesome way too much. Also legend.
So anyway, I suppose I better introduce myself properly: My name is George and I am 16 years old. Yeah.... that's about it. Oh, and I live in Northamptonshire in a crappy village. And I like sitcoms and music. Like a typical person. That about sums me up actaully: Typical. Anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye!!!!!

JiminyWings - October 16, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
Evening. Good to meet you George, sorry its taken so long to get back to your post. Having a good month I hope. So what are you watching until Spaced returns to entertain us once more... whenever that will be? For me, The Smoking Room is just amazing! In fact, I should find one of these sites to celebrate there excellent work. Ever seen it? I think it comes to BBC2 from BBC3 soon, watch this space! :D

cheddargorge - October 16, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)
Hey, good to hear from somebody!
I watched the very first smoking room and it was okay, but kind of lost interest. But if it's on I might watch it again.
I dunno if I mentioned "The Day Today", but that is another program I like. Also Alan Partridge, The League Of Gentlemen, Eary Doors, Phoenix Nights to name but a few. Oh, btw, has anyone been watching Love Soup with Tamsin Grieg? (And by "anyone" I mean you Jiminy as you are the only person talking to me!) It is okay, but I think she has been funnier.
Oh, and Father Ted I like. Is a classic.
Anyhooooo best be off. Hope to see a reply soon!!

LittleMissMercy - October 17, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
I've been watching Love Soup, I really like it. Tamsin seems to play similar characters in a few things, but she is brilliant in everything

JiminyWings - October 18, 2005 07:34 PM (GMT)
Oh my word, you have quite brilliant taste!! I thought I was the only person in the whole world who liked Early Doors.... been enjoying the reruns very much recently. Nigel and Phil are brilliant, especially his dodgy laugh. Craig Cash is a true legend. Do you know if he will ever return as Dave in The Royle Family? I think he is writing something new with Caroline, but I don't think they will all get back together :cry. I'm a big fan of early League of Gentlemen, but I think it lost something which made it so so brilliant, I didn't see the film mind.

I like how you have managed to get someone else on this topic, 'the only person talking to me' sentence has worked wonders! Brilliant.
Btw, The Smoking Room is coming to BBC2, and once you watch a couple you will love it. :) I hope.

Bye for now.

cheddargorge - October 19, 2005 04:19 PM (GMT)
Yep, have also been enjoying the re-runs! Am planning on buying the early doors box set for my mum for her birthday, but she is sooo not gonna be able to watch it as I will just be goddamn addicted. *cackles* I dunno if craig is going back to the royle's, cus I that had finished now? Dunno. I reallllllly hope they all do do another series/episode, even if it is one of those rubbishy comic relief specials. Would be awesome.
I was also quite pleased with the effect my "only person talking" comment made! I felt it was quite... nifty.
Am very much looking forward to the smoking room coming to BBC2 seeing as it comes so highly reccomended! Oh, btw, i did have good month as asked earlier, thankyou for asking:) How was yours?

Tatty bye byes. (Did I just say that?!)

cheddargorge - October 27, 2005 08:34 PM (GMT)
Where, oh where is my Jiminywings?? *Sob* :cry

kittyofdoom - July 11, 2006 06:36 PM (GMT)
Watched some of series one again last night, love it when you forget funny bits and then laugh like a fool again :)

"What d'you wanna do now?"
"I think we should descale the teapot"
"You filthy bitch"
"You love it"

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

"I'll come back later if you change your....shoes"

:D

poo on a plate - July 11, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
God I love Spaced. "You can't drink a pint of Bovril". Love the robot wars episode, mainly because I love Reece, and love the one where they have that fight with the chavs - that is a brilliant episode.

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 08:48 AM (GMT)
Some more quotes, because I love it so:

Tim: Brian's coming up
Daisy: Why did he ring?
Tim: I don't know, why did he paint his arse blue last week?

Tim: Who're you?
Paper Boy: I'm the paper boy
Tim: Daisy; he's got a brace
Daisy: I thought it was a piercing
Tim: Eurgh!

Tim: You can't dangle the carrot of possible reconciliation in my face whilst riding some other donkey!

poo on a plate - July 12, 2006 09:48 AM (GMT)

Oh my god! I've got some fucking Jaffa cakes in my coat pocket!

Brian: You had sex before you kissed?
Tim and Daisy: Yeah.

SecretanFan - July 12, 2006 09:59 AM (GMT)
My brother's got some Spaced on DVD, I have to admit I've never actually watched any. Since you guys like it and you've all got such great taste, I may well get him to lend me whatever episodes he has! :D

poo on a plate - July 12, 2006 10:02 AM (GMT)
You'll love it, honestly. It's brilliant. I love the little references.

"And I shot a cat up the arsehole"

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 12:59 PM (GMT)
It is very good, and you may even see the Mark Heap loveliness :) he's very nice in Spaced.

SecretanFan - July 12, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
I watched a few series 1 episodes today, I thought Mark Heap was brilliant! His painting...anger, pain, fear, aggression! That was great. I'm pretty much converted! :D

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
YAY! :D Success! Hehe

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 09:54 PM (GMT)
I know it's a double post, but I had to put this in:

Mike: Wanna go into your party?
Tim: But they were playing 'The Timewarp'. I hate 'The Timewarp'.
Mike: Daisy likes it.
Tim: So what? I hate it. It's boil-in-the-bag perversion for sexually repressed accountants and first-year drama students with too many posters of Betty Blue, The Blues Brothers, Big Blue and Blue Velvet on their blue bloody walls.
Mike: It's just a song.
Tim: I DON'T CARE! I HATE IT! I don't want to hear it! I don't want to hear it at a party, least of all a party I'm supposed to be throwing!
Mike (shaking Tim): For the love of God, Tim! Control yourself!

poo on a plate - July 12, 2006 09:56 PM (GMT)
 I love that scene!

Also love Daisy's impression of Jamie Oliver

IMO - July 12, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
I've given in and ordered the DVD's - it had better be good  Although reading the various quotes that being posted, I am starting to get excited :ph43r:

poo on a plate - July 12, 2006 10:14 PM (GMT)
You will love it, especially if you're a bit of a film fan, there's millions of little references. Thousands of extras too, well worth the money.

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
Well, I can't say you'll definitely like it, but I think from the other things that you enjoy, you *probably* will. I'll provide you with more quotes :)

"Get off me you bummer!"

"Are you ready Mike?"
"I was born ready Timmy!"
"Yeah, but are you ready now?"
"Uh... yeah."

"Do you think we're getting old?"
"Yeah, but everyone gets older, apart from my cousin Adam"
"What's so special about your cousin Adam?"
"He is getting younger"
"B*stard, what are we gonna do?"
"There's nothing we can do, the government know, it's all hush hush"
"I'm not talking about Adam, I mean the party"
"Oh"

"I see it as a tribute to Christo, the artist"
"I see it as a waste of Baco, the foil"

:) sorry, I won't do any more, there are loads, and I don't want to ruin it.

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 10:58 PM (GMT)
Ooh, just one more!

Brian: Do you think I should lose the waistcoat?
Tim: I think you should burn it, because if you lose it, you might find it again

poo on a plate - July 12, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
^^^ Love that quote

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
Oh yes, forgot to mention there's some more eating of coffee in Spaced. Wonder if GW were referencing Spaced, hehe :)

poo on a plate - July 12, 2006 11:21 PM (GMT)
hehe you never know. I love that episode 'I'm a massive wanker'

kittyofdoom - July 12, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
Oh, they're all so good, it's nice to be watching it again now, because I had watched it to death, and so I could get through whole episodes without laughing, just the occasional smile, but now I've forgotten and the humour is fresh again :D it's good.

SecretanFan - July 13, 2006 07:45 AM (GMT)
I love that waistcoat quote! Brian looks such a legend. David Walliams was good as Vulva, and I'm impressed that he swam the channel. (David, not Vulva  )

IMO - July 13, 2006 12:31 PM (GMT)
I've seen the first two episodes *bounces* how did I miss this when it was on TV  Mark Heap looks amazing in this, also a lot thinner and taller

I loved the ducks covered in bacofoil

poo on a plate - July 13, 2006 12:32 PM (GMT)
yay! I knew you'd love it. Mark is very beautiful in Spaced isn't he? mmm..

SecretanFan - July 13, 2006 03:14 PM (GMT)
Brian's easily my favourite character, I love Mark Heap now! :D

IMO - July 13, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
*shoves SecretanFan out of the way* He's mine - all mine

luvinit! - August 22, 2006 11:29 AM (GMT)
Mmm! he looks good in that.

Sorry to change the subject, but did anyone also fancy the arse of Simon Pegg?
