Caroline
She sat at his grave silently. The black stone was as clear and shiny as they had been that cold February morning. She could remember the cries of despair, convocations of hope and the love that had been. She could remember how she stayed silent, clinging on to the two things that mattered; her beautiful daughter Daisy, and Mac’s cold and bitter hand.

Guilty thoughts entered her mind even now. Why should Guy have been the one to go? What if Daisy had grown up along side Guy, listened to his sexist remarks and shared his competitive streak, would she have been different? How could she ever love someone like Mac, who had deserted her so many times before?

Damn straight girl. Although...no he's dead. :cry looking forward to next bit, ur writings always good, tell me what u think of my fic if u have time, am interested to know! :P

I am intrigued...carry on please! How did he die? Whose child is Daisy? I love it!

Ohh this sounds interesting, but I don't like the idea of Mac deserting Caroline :o

Tori

She could remeber the day it happened. Science lessons were usually the most mind-numbing lesson of the week. She found it incredibly easy, and did not see any real point in paying attention if she could do it anyway. Staring out the window she saw a worried looking head of year coming towards the science lab. She was carrying a large stack of files. Seeing the chance to use her ever present charm, and get out of the lesson on Alloys. Who really gave a shit about alloys, honestly?

“Mr Slumen, I think Mrs Mason is trying to get in, and by the looks of it she won’t be able to with those files she is carrying. I think I should help her.” She flashed a smile at the aging teacher who sighed.

“If you must Tori.” Jumping up off the old stool she ran towards the door and held it open for her head of year.
“Oh Tori I hink you better come with me.”

I love this fic, but why oh why does Caroline not love Mac?

I know, it's just wrong :o

Tori

It was all coming so fast. As soon as Mrs Mason had escorted her to the front entrance, and she was to find Guy with open arms. His eyes were wet and expression uncharacteristicly down. She turned to give Mrs Mason a smile but found her in tears as well. Why was no body telling her anything. It scared her to be kept in the dark, and this was no exeption.

Sheepishly walking over to Guy she smiled, acwardly hugging him.
"Hey Guy whats up?"
"Tori, just come with me yeah." There was something different in his voice. Not the usual trying-to-be-sexy-/-charming, but something real, something painful.
"Um ok.."

Silence let them all the way home. As they pulled in to the driveway, Guy paused.
"Your mum told me to wait but I can't do it."
"Your not gonna ask me to marry you are you Guy. I mean I thought 25 was your limit, then you met mum and..."
"Look I know this sounds bad coming from me, but SHUT UP"
"God who rattled your cadge!"
"TORI!" He yelled. She could see the effot he was putting in trying to stay calm, and this was only aggrivating her further. He hadn't even told her what he was taking her out of school for. "Look, this isn't going to be easy and it isn't going to nice right? Your dad is inside dying, and he dosn't have long left."
"Your joking right?! People don't just die. Why is he dying? "
"He's had canser for a while now, and.. we didn't wanna worry you"
"Your a basterd Guy you know that?"

WAIT....Mac's dying???? :o I thought Guy was dead? Poor Daisy though...I have a feeling that this will be a sad sad fic, well it already is but I think it will get sadder, yes? Please update soon I am desperate to know what happens next!

But this was only dreaming.Everyday she wished Mac had been the one in the bed. She wished it hadn't been Mac who had picked her up from school, arrived on the bike and revealed that her father was dieing.

Yeah, but I also like the idea of Mac not dying so it's a tricky situation...

The guilt was the worse thing. Hanging over your shoulders like a intense force, the secret threatening to slip out at any moment. Taunting your conscience like you can never let go.

It was his family he felt sorry for. All blissfully unaware on the pain he was to inflict on them. How do you explain to someone you have taken the life no, murdered the person they cared about most in the world.

He knew some time, and sometime soon he was gonna crack. Let out one small deatail that would piece the picture together. They would find out Guy didn't die peacefully in his bed from the 'doctor's mystery illness'

Caroline

"Not much on telly tonight eh Vic?"
"Don 't call me that! I told you. It's Tori. God can't you remember anything?!"
"Oi!" Mac shouted from his the kitchin. He stormed in waring an apron and clutching a pink spatula that he had got Caroline for her birthday. "Don't be so bloody rude to your mum. She hasn't done anything and you know it. Not be civil or get upstairs." Tori simply ignored him and stared blankly at the screen.

Why she couldn't accept Mac and let him in to her world, or at least say a few words of kindness once in a while she did not know. But the whole Guy had left in Tori's heart was now bigger than ever, and no one could fill it, least of all her or Mac.

She was so distant now, just spending her days drawing in her darkened room, ignoring or hurling insults at anyone who dared to strike up a normal convosation.

Caroline was allowed to have someone elce, right? Mac understood her quirky habits and her snorting laughter. Now Guy was gone she was finally ready to admitt she had made the wrong choice. Guy hadn't loved her like Mac did. He showed his affection often enough, but Caroline had always know there was only room for one girl in his life and that was Tori. They had a bond from birth. Her first word was 'Dada' and she only ever wanted 'Dada', and this had only made her jealous of Tori. Jealous of her own Child...

Tori

Tori woke with a start. So many noises were around her it was unbarable. She could here her dad's moans, her mother's cryies, doctors shouts and nurces calming words. It was all too much. She got up and ran to her parents bed room door. The screaming was getting louder and louder digging into her brain.

"He's DROWING!" Her mum cried. Her voice was choked with tears. Tori wanted to hug her. Hold her till the pain stopped. "HE'S DROWING! HE'S DROWING IN HIS OWN FLUIDS.! For God's sake HELP HIM!"

"Dr Todd you must calm down!"

One last cry was all she heard from her father and then, silence.

Walking from her sleep Tori rubbed her head. The memory had come round again, haunting her while she slept as well as in the day.

Nobody could really understand how she felt. Not Mac; however 'understanding' and 'caring' he tried to be. Not even her mum. Dad wass the only one who really 'got' her. They could talk for hours about anything and everything. It was teh small things she missed the most. The big daddy hugs, his arms wrapped tight around her small frame. The kiss on the head before bed, and mindless bit of information that she didn't really care about, the coke shot competitions.

But never again. Not now, not ever.

:o Mac killed Guy!!!! He's a bastard!!!

Caroline

"Talk to me!" No answer. "Look you can't hide out in there forever."

This was the fith night this week. To make things worse Tori wasn't eating her meals and her school work remained untouched by the front door. Mac told her to leave this 'attention seeking trick' alone but Caroline's instincts told her different. She saw Mac running up the stairs, a worried look on his face.

"For Gods sake!" He rammed his fists on Tori's door. "Tori out now!" pausing, "Caroline run and get us some drinks were gonna be out here for a while. She's not gonna come out. Typical girlish thing to do this," Seconds later Tori's door opened. She smiled sarcastically at Mac.

"How the hell did you do that?!" Caroline asked.
"Like farther like daughter."

Mac

After retiring early in order to spent some time with his family, he now could see he had know clue what he was thinking. He had become a stay at home dad to a child who didn't want anyone other than her real dad. He couldn't clean, and being forced by Caroline to do the school run so that Tori actually entered the school was taking it's toll. Trying to wake a teenager from bed was easier said than done.

Every morning at 7:00 sharp he would force open Tori's purposely stuck door, give her a five minute warning, then come in again and spray her face lightly with water only to get an earful and have insults thrown wildly at him.

This particular morning after forcing Tori to eat half a bowl of coco pops, they hopped on the bike, Tori refusing to wear her helmet.
“Look I know too many people who have died because their head got blown off by the black devil that is the road, so just wear the bloody helmet ok?”
“Maybe I wouldn’t have to if you didn’t drive something so stupid as an glorified bicycle!”
“Look this thing is more than a bike! It’s…”
“Stupid?”
“No..”
“Pouf like?”
“No…”
“Makes you feel like slightly more of a ginger freak than you already are?" Mac stopped. This was too much. He shouldn't have done it. Then he did something he hadn't done before. He pulled Tori close and whispered.
"I'm sorry."

As well you should be you murderous gimp! Sorry, far too into this..

How did he make Guy drown in his own fluids? I feel a bit ick after saying that :lol:

Maybe if she pretended to clean it would ease the pain. On the rare occasion of a day off, she had planned to spring clean to prove she was more than a working mum, but had found her self leafing through old photo albums full of pictures of Guy and Tori. Laughing and mucking about, posing with pouted lips.

Tears ran down her face, wetting the photo

"Oh :swearing :swearing :swearingbags" she Hastily grabbed the photo. As she pulled it out of the album, a crumpeled piece of paper stood in the sleeve. Carefully placing the paper aside, she took the paper out with shaking hands.

Caroline had a good memory, and she did not remeber putting that brown bit of paper behind a photo of a posing Guy and Tori.

As she scanned down the letter she couldn't help let out a squeal.

[I]Dear Caroline, and Tori if you can be bothered to read this. I know you hate reading.

Look I know at the beggining I always told you to be careful of Mac and never look into his eyes. Well you may have discovered now that his eyes may infact be safe, but don't trust him.

Tori ( Caro pass this on or yell very loud up the stairs to get her) I know you have never liked him and you had a good reason too. Apart from being and idiotic ginger twat head, he is also a cold blooded killer.

Wow im glad i didnt write that, as you say sinead you can spy IMO's anger from afar! So did Mac kill guy? How did guy write the note if he was dying? Why didnt he stop mac killing him if he knew beforehand? Answer me these questions three!

Caroline, you don't know this but me and Mac had words. Some quite loud words really. I didn't tell you cause I know how you hate it. He told me he still loved you. As if that wasn't bloody obvious from the start, but ginger nuts just had to get one up on me. And I warn you Caro that will never change.

Just promice me something, don't let him get Tori.

You might not see me again for a while, and... I love you both. Just don't do something you may regret with Mac. He's dangerous.
