I've read some of the book on the recommendation of my other half who absolutely raved about it, but haven't seen it.

Little_Simba - July 20, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
My dad really, really likes this and he has the dvd on (again) right now here in this room, lol!! :cheer2 I like it too, yeah, it's entertaining, funny, interesting and a bit nail-biting at times.

Interesting thing though: my dad saw something on the front of (I think) Motorcycle News the other day about Ewan and Charley doing another one called The Long Way Down. I don't know anything about it but I assume it'll be a similar thing round (down) the planet on motorbikes! :D :D :D Anyone know anything about this?...

oiyoupingpongman - July 23, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
Yes! Yes i do...the boys are currently on another trip starting from John O Groats and ending in South Africa, they are in Zambia at the minute. Heard them talking about it in an interview on the radio, which is great because i could listen to Ewans amazing voice for an hour or so! The show looks good, cant wait!

Little_Simba - July 23, 2007 04:21 PM (GMT)
Ooooh, yay, thanks, Ping! I'll be able to give my dad those details. Hope the series will be as good as the first one.

Little_Simba - November 1, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
So Long Way Down has started. :badger I haven't seen the first ep but it is recorded so I will watch it soon. Did anyone here watch it and, if so, what did they think of it and what does it look like compared with Long Way Round?

I was in an absolute fit of giggles watching one of the extras on the Long Way Round dvd the other day. The two of them are so funny! :worship2

guyoline - November 1, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
well I never actually saw long way round *feels ashamed* but the first episode of long was down was good. It was sweet how Ewan's wife wanted to come and tried to learn how to ride a bike and everything  and when they went to scotland so they could have a "test run" before they set off it was sweet all the stuff they did up there like ewan riding with his brother and dad and seeing his family and going to that children's home I thought it was really good, can't wait for the next episode :)

The 1st Long Way Down was brilliant - i just love Ewan McGrego - he just seems so down to earth and lovely and the 2 of them are so unny together. Looks set to be another good series!

oiyoupingpongman - November 2, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
I personally loved all that stuff, the whole thing should just be about Ewan and his family! No it was brilliant, cant wait for this sunday! Eep!

PigRescuer - November 4, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)

Tonight at 9 on BBC2

Last weeks eppy amused me ^_^

Also realised my guitar teacher is merely a blonde version of EM..
Explains why he's so hot :P

i saw this last night, it was soo good, i really liked it, and it is on after top gear, so a perfect sunday night in! did anyone else listen to it when it was on radio 1 (when they called up everyday/week to report?) im sure in that they said they were in a country that they werent supposed to be in, due to visas and stuff, i was wondering fi they would show that,
they do seem to be rushign down through everywhere, does anyone know is it this pace the whole way? or do they slow down eventually?

Little_Simba - November 13, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
I didn't realise just how lovely a man Ewan McGregor was until Long Way Round. Like Bex said, he is so down to earth and, when you see him in this, you completely forget what a huge star he is because he doesn't act like so many of them do. I love Charley as well, though. He seems so sweet and such an amazing laugh as well. He'd be a perfect person to spend time with, I reckon. B) B) B)

Yeah, I know, aren't they speeding through it?!! It doesn't look to me like they're going to slow down, unfortunately. How many episodes are there in this series? I take it there aren't as many as there were in Long Way Round. :( They didn't do so much on the preparation for this series, though, of course... and they're not going q. so far, are they?... but even so :(

oiyoupingpongman - November 13, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
I know! One minute theyre in France...next libya..blink...Egypt...Its all going too fast for me! But Ewan is even more of a hero than he was to me before :heart

guyoline - November 13, 2007 02:49 PM (GMT)
according to the Radio Times there are 6 episodes and we have seen 3 so only 3 left :cry

but yeah I think Charley is great too but it's all about Ewan and his hotness

Chapman - November 13, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
awww i missed this week's, i watched learners, where are they now?

guyoline - November 13, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
err well I'm watching it now and they are going through Egypt
so glad this is repeated :D

Little_Simba - November 14, 2007 04:29 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (guyoline @ Nov 13 2007, 02:49 PM)
according to the Radio Times there are 6 episodes and we have seen 3 so only 3 left :cry

:( :( :( That partly explains it, though, I suppose; there were 9 or 10 eps of Long Way Round.

XTill_Masterx - November 14, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
*is not impressed*

But we must have more Ewan McGregor hotness on our screens!!
It is compulsary!

Little_Simba - November 28, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
I've only seen the past couple of eps in bits but I have to mention the cuteness of:
1. That tiny puppy
2. The baby(ish) gorilla
3. Little kids
4. Charley
5. Ewan

Charley doesn't seem too happy about Ewan's wife's taking part in part of the trip, does he?

guyoline - November 28, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)
no not really BUT he does go bungy jumping so I'm sure it will be fine, I think it's because it means he won't be able to speak to his friend much and his wife isn't coming and yeah...

but it's the last one on sunday :cry

Little_Simba - November 30, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
I know; it's gone ridiculously quickly, hasn't it? :cry :sob

oiyoupingpongman - December 2, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
Its finished! And they missed out practically all of South Africa...it felt like they expected a longer series and then it was cut down? Becuase the last section was so rushed...when they kept saying "Oh we've got a few countries to go" we were all going 'Yeah and 6 minutes to depict it all'

Chapman - December 3, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
i was flicking over from who gets the dog, and they showed a map of how far they had left, and i wasthinking oh so there is another programme on, they arent going to show all that in 15 minutes,
but then they did,
i have missed 3 out of the6 episodes, woops

Little_Simba - December 3, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
:cry :cry :cry It really should have been nine eps. I'm sad now.
