Title: DVD Release
Description: It's out!

BlinkChick - October 21, 2004 11:31 AM (GMT)
Anyone know when/if a DVD's coming out? If it doesn't we might have to go protest  In a purely calm and friendly manner obviously. Well, obviously. :P

I personally would love to see the outtakes

Oh, obviously calmly and rationally...

I bet the outtakes are full of them all bursting out laughing!!

Zoecb - October 24, 2004 09:19 PM (GMT)
I know, they seem to think that's not worth putting on DVDs but it totally is!

CraigJamieson88 - October 28, 2004 07:52 AM (GMT)
Hi all! I'd love a GW DVD, but if we're honest it probably won't happen.

I've taped all the eps so far and using what I know about computers (which aint a lot so this could take a while!) i'm gonna try and put them onto VCD and eventually DVD. I'll let you know if I have any success.

Pippa Haywood's and Julian Rhind-Tutt's webchats both indicate that a DVD will be released and that there is lots of material available for use in extras, including an extended gag reel (oh please, oh please!) and deleted scenes. Remember much of what you see is improvisation or based on original improv, so it should be good.
*fingers crossed*

There better be a DVD, or else we were all lied to. Which would be awful.

CraigJamieson88 - October 28, 2004 05:24 PM (GMT)
:blush Ok I stand corrected *goes over and cries in corner, sucking his thumb*

I would love if they did bring a dvd out though, especially with outakes. oh, you can't beat outakes

I really badly hope they bring out a DVD - although most of my essay writing time at uni would be spent watching it. However I am a film and TV student so hey, I can just say it's research!

Surely it's not a question of "if" more like "when". Or else Channel 4 will be receiving a very strongly worded letter from me!

Random_camel_girl - November 7, 2004 07:06 PM (GMT)
that siggy is so cute

Hi...I love Mac :heart
I think they will do DVD as it is where they get most of their money and the wabchats have segestied it....I can't wait to see all the out-takes!!!

been_already - March 20, 2005 07:39 PM (GMT)
Nothing's been confirmed, but I had read it's been released in the Autumn of this year, around October.

I've half a mind to start hounding Channel 4's Press Office til it's confirmed!
Fingers crossed for plenty of extra's!! :notworthy

LittleMissMercy - March 20, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
Ooh exciting! I have been toying with the idea of buying one of the unofficial DVDs from Ebay to keep me going til it comes out, since I'd read somewhere that the official one wouldn't be released til next year, but I guess I'll just wait now!

What about these "unofficial DVD's" ?!?

DO tell, I've heard nothing :ph43r:

LittleMissMercy - March 22, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
You mean you've not been searching on Ebay for Green Wing? :o

I know a lot of people sell unofficial (taped from TV) DVDs so I've looked a few times they're currently available on Buy It Now for 10.50 (I don't have a pound sign cos my computer is set in USA keyboard), don't know how good the quality is but if you can't wait for the official release it seems alright!

I can't wait that long. That means it will be released after the second series? :high (hehe had to use that smiley it's a new one on me) :D

LittleMissMercy - March 25, 2005 01:35 PM (GMT)
I've noticed most DVDs of channel 4 programmes tend to come out after the second series, but 7 months isn't that long! (I can say that after having waiting over 4 years for a new Depeche Mode album) but you can always try on ebay if you get really desperate, which I'm still considering

snoopybing - April 29, 2005 04:52 PM (GMT)
I'd rather wait for a great dvd stuffed with extras, deleted scenes commentarys etc rather than get a rubbish one right away. However, that said i think ill still keep an eye on ebay coz im suffering severe GW withdrawal... :eep

where_the_wild_things_are - May 12, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
Cant wait! but i guess ill have to, since i want/need dvd extra goodies etc B) :)

CraigJamieson88 - May 30, 2005 11:21 AM (GMT)
Mmmmm..... extras.....

Ive been checking on amazon weekly, hoping and praying but to no avail. Damnit!

Yup they're still going on ebay.... I do wish I had money!

where_the_wild_things_are - July 28, 2005 05:30 AM (GMT)
ahhh money.....if only!!!

CraigJamieson88 - July 28, 2005 12:17 PM (GMT)
We can dream. And dream we shall....

LittleMissMercy - September 3, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
According to a link provided on the Green Wing LJ community the Green Wing DVD will not be released until March 2006 now (which also makes me think the new series might not be shown until about then!) Pretty bad news considering we were expecting it next month!

So there you go, sorry!

CraigJamieson88 - September 3, 2005 09:05 PM (GMT)
You're kidding?! Nooooooooooooooooo!!

Im off to cry now...

been_already - September 4, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)

where_the_wild_things_are - September 5, 2005 04:29 AM (GMT)

been_already - September 5, 2005 09:30 PM (GMT)
Actually read that on the channel 4 forums... :(

IMO - September 6, 2005 09:44 PM (GMT)
But, but, but.... I wanted it for my birthday, or at least for Christmas. Goes off and has a major sulk :runaway

hmm not necessarily. Think about it, if the series starts in January it will finish in March. If the DVD is released then, Green Wing is still fresh in people's minds and more people will go out to buy it. Whereas if the DVD is released next month it might not sell as well because people might have forgotten about it. They just want to make as much money as possible. Think marketing, children! :rude

although this doesnt help the fact that I am v.annoyed at this info. At least I have my unofficial DVDs from ebay to tide me over. *proceeds to stroke DVDs in a loving manner*

LittleMissMercy - September 8, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
Oh are the DVDs you have any good? Apparently they might be released this year afterall it's all a bit confusing atm

snoopybing - September 11, 2005 11:32 AM (GMT)
Yeah they are ok for the money. The picture quality isnt brilliant but I would certainly recommend them for anyone whos suffering withdrawal....

cheddargorge - September 14, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
Oh my God, what a gutter. I too was thinking it would be october. Anyway, hello to all of you. I am new. But i love green wing. So i'm guessing that all you need to love to be part of this fansite right??? Well, i hope so. I don't think i would fit into any other categories. Ok... byeeeeee

been_already - March 11, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
Well, it looks promising...
