Thanks to madzilla on LJ!

- Which writers had played parts in episodes – for example, Billy as the homless man Guy refuses to give money to, James as someone sitting behind Martin in his exam, Oriane as the tiny handed nurse, the ‘only child’ and the prostitute (her mother sent her a text after the episode aired saying ‘I’ve just seen you having sex in the back of a taxi’), Finn and/or Patrick as someone who eyes up Lyndon in the corridor (LOL), etc.

- The real father of Mini Mac – not Guy, but some guy in South Africa who apparently dumped Holly. Not Wyard or whoever he was. Blimey, she was a bit of a ho post Mac, eh?

- Mac’s first name starts with F, as per his badge, apparently! But we still don’t know what it is. And they don’t either. Though Finn likes the idea of it being – well, Finn. LOL

- They didn’t really decide what illness Mac had – though they kind of sort of thought it might be an aneurysm. I loved what James Henry said here – “…because, sometimes they just go away.”

They rang up a real doctor, apparently, and said “is there any sort of illness that kills you in a few weeks but you’re still healthy and look the same?” And were told “er … no.” But did it anyway. LOL.

- They didn’t tie up Lyndon’s storyline for the simple reason that Paterson Joseph is a ‘proper’ film star now and probably wasn’t available. LOL.

- The theme tune is put together form lots of little musical motifs representing each character.

- Other possible outcomes to the show included Caroline falling from the ramparts at the wedding – i.e., the irony that Mac is dying but Caroline dies first. The gasp that went up around the pub was quite something, probably just as well they didn’t go this way! There was also the thought of killing all the characters at the end. Blimey.

- Some of them, and definitely Oriane, felt very much like going to ground after ep 8 series 2 aired, for fear of what people would do/say! And they said it was a bit strange for them because they knew it wasn’t the last episode, that they knew there was more coming, but for us, because of the long wait afterwards, it felt a bit like an ending.

- Stuff the cast refused to do, as per the clip above – originally, in the Ken Russell-eqsue wrestling scene in Mac’s coma dream, Mac and Guy were supposed to be naked, but Steve and Julian were like “UMM NO.” Fair enough. Also, Steve refused to wear a tutu in the S2 promo pics, which is why he’s in a kilt for no rhyme or reason.

- There was some info from Billy about how the music and the images are edited together, and how it’s the other way round from most TV shows.

- They’re all big fans of Scrubs, and accidentally plagiarised it once! LOL. Oriane also loves Prison Break, so she can understand our excitement for the show from that POV (that of a fan).

- They don’t get much/any say into what’s on the DVDs, though they did get asked about the packaging colour. Niiiice!

- Some alternate storylines, including one with Alan having an octogenarian wife and grandchildren who were older than him. They way they explained it, it just sounded hilarious. Oh, and a brilliant one where, at the beginning of series 2, Guy was living feral with a pack of wolves in Switzerland. This then became Britain – and they said it soon degenerated into him hanging around near a bush near the hospital and rapidly became too long-winded. Hahahahaha.

Wow some interesting bits there. The bit about Guy turning feral is in James Henry's blogg. Check out his thread under Cast - Writers bit.

I'm going to move this into the News bit, or is it Episodes. Goes to have a look.

macismygod - January 20, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)

I never put those three together as being the same person.

They should have made Stephen wear the tutu

macismygod - January 20, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
Ha Thought of Stephen in a tutu had me in giggles! *sighs* if only he'd worn it

IMO - January 20, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
Finlay
Finn
Frazier
Finbar
Frank
Francis :o
Flynn

I like Flynn :)

The small handed nurse is the one Lyndon is helping out with the PC when Joanna asks him out for birthday drinks. He's telling the nurse to press Control/alt/delete and she says her fingers are too small to spread that far (or something).

macismygod - January 20, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
I think it should be Francis!

IMO - January 20, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
Nooo it can't be Francis. All I can think of is Francis the Firefly who played with matches and burnt down the bug city :o

macismygod - January 20, 2007 04:59 PM (GMT)
 ermm ok...* goes and looks up Francis Fire fly* lol never heard of him!

QueenGW - January 20, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
yeah i kno the nurse it means now!

i like flynn too its cool!!!

littlered - January 20, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
Thanks for that Pingu, it was really interesting - now whenever I listen to the theme tune I'll be trying to work out which bit represents each character, which should be fun. :D
I hope Mac's name is Finn, as it's all Irish, and so is he. Finn Macartney ...

:o I remember Francis Firefly! We got so many talks at primary school from the emergency services about fire safety, and I think we had a comic about Francis.

enzotherhino - January 20, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
i was thinking fitzwilliam or fortesque

PigRescuer - January 20, 2007 06:26 PM (GMT)
I quite like Finn or Flynn. :D

They sound right, somehow.

And me neither, I never linked Oriane and the nurse and the only child and the prostitute. But now - I see it!!

I need to look out for James H behind Maritn in teh exam too.

QueenGW - January 20, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)

That made me laugh so much...I can just imagine Guy looking shifty by a bush for about a month...

On the Mac first name thing, I'm reckoning it probably is something like Francis or Frederick because he's embarassed enough to not tell anyone what it is...

QueenGW - January 21, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
actually thats true cos i like finn but then why wudnt he tell people? haahah frank macartney has a little less sex appeal dont u think!

PigRescuer - January 23, 2007 03:48 PM (GMT)
Makes me think of Frank Butcher.
