I'm a little confused, also a little depressed. Dramatic I know but hear me out - the whole special ending was great, however I was really into it until it was revealed that Mac was dying and then it seemed to be used only for laughs I mean Carolines reaction was practically non-existant and it didn't end it properly. I mean if that is going to be the last Green Wing then by all means end the thing - I mean we got Alan and Joanna apparently ending it. However that's just my rant about the actual ending itself - but the alternate ending is a little more interesting. Yes I realise it wasn't what all you CarGuy fans wanted but it did have that little funny piece of dialogue at the end - (PS Yes I know I'm a hopeless romantic and I do want Mac to survive)

Caroline: Oh my God we are all going to die
Mac: No we're not, we're all going to be fine
Guy: mumbles something
Caroline: WHAT!?
Mac: Caroline, there's something I need to tell you
FADE TO BLACK

Now it is just me or is this the prelude to him telling her that everything's not as it seemed and technically he's not going to die, because he doesn't answer when Guy yells at him that he's going to die anyway. And on the commentary JRT claims that this was the ending that he was expecting and *JOKE* he's going to call his lawyers - it does open the avenue for another series all they would have to do would be to re-edit the ending and show it again. Or is this simply an ending that would placate the *fans* of the show who lets face it were all a little disappointed that they were killing off Mac. However there is always the possibility I am just neurotic and overthinking this too much - but it's been playing on my mind.
Would love to hear other peeps ideas on it

This has been mentioned quite a lot on the forum, and the only thing I can think of to disprove it is how he says to Caroline's mom 'Thank God I'm dying...'

I can't really understand it otherwise...

Or is it that Mac is truely EVIL and only wanted to get one over on Guy <_< nah thats just stupid! :D
