They weren’t easy for the actors to do. “The scenes with Max and Laura are an exploration of love not sex but they are quite explicit for 9pm.” Max admitted that he found filming the scenes “very uncomfortable” but added: “The director took us all out the night before filming to see a French film which gave us some ideas on how to shoot the scenes. That really helped. “Laura and I were both quite nervous filming the scene. It had to be not too physical but more of a serious heartfelt thing as my character was betraying his best friend and her character was betraying her husband to be.” Max added that he made sure he was in shape for his bum shots. He explained: When you get to your 30s and you’re doing scenes like this it does help if you keep in shape. You can’t go on looking like the Elephant Man. “I do like to keep fit and if it’s right for the character I’ll show my bum. I did... it's alright. Not brilliant, but alright. Spent most of the episode trying to figure out where I recognised the lead actress from. Finally decided it was from A Knight's Tale. Not sure if that's right as never got around to checking it on IMDB.
