I love Play.com. My DVD arrived this morning :notworthy Can I just say that even if you never want to watch the special again (as some people on here have said) this is worth it for the Extras. There is a brilliant one with Sue at the Wedding ceremony, and quite a few hospital based ones including three in the operating theatre. Oh and there's a scene with Caroline and Guy in the hotel room before the wedding which the Caro/Guy shippers will like <_<

I prefer the alternative ending as it does leave things a lot more open, and there's a lot more of Mac and Guy in it :)

We also get to see what happened to Martin in the office when they took him captive :lol:

Aghhhhhh only problem is I've got distorted sound on the alternative ending so am going to have to send my DVD back :sob

The actual DVD (although it comes in a little plastic sleeve like the others) is a bog standard plastic case, so no extra photos inside and not much space for the DVD signing on Monday. However, Boyce and Alan appear on the DVD itself :thumbsup

The alternate ending is so much better than the one eventually broadcast.

But I do definately appreciate it more now I'm not expecting so much.

Yes it's right at the end of the alternative ending, Mac starts to say something and then the whole thing just stops :o Although by the tone of his voice you can guess what he's going to say ;) (well I can).

The behind the scenes bit is good as well (just not enough). They show how they filmed the balloon floating scene and there are shots of JRT climbing back in through a window and running down the stairs.

It's no good just reading the text of the alternative ending, you need to hear the way Mac says "Caroline, there's been something I've been meaning to tell you". And just before that he said "we're gona be fine" and Caroline says "what"

The commentary's good on the ending. All the cast had literally just watched the Special for the first time and then did the commentary for it and at the end Julian is commentating as if it's the alternative ending saying things like "this wonderful moment when Stephen and I hang onto Tamsin and we all float up" and "I'm going to be contacting my solicitor". So he obviously didn't agree with the choice of ending - my hero :wub:

Well the release date is officially Monday. I'll probably be at the Post Office sending my dud copy back then. :angry:

My dearest brother works in HMV and got a load in yesterday or something like that i think ... might try and persuade him to get it for me .. :P
