Title: Music
Description: What bands do you like

LittleMissMercy - May 10, 2005 01:53 PM (GMT)
I was interested in finding out what sort of music/bands people like on here.

My current favourite bands are Kaiser Chiefs and Depeche Mode (they've always been my favourite.) I also like lots of Goth music, but generally modern stuff like the Cruxshadows

been_already - May 10, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
Huh - not listening to many albums lately - it's mainly radio...songs by Snowpatrol, Kaiser Chiefs and that song by Hoobastank called "the reason"...erm...for classic chill out, I like Queen and Pulp - different class is an excellent album...

LittleMissMercy - May 11, 2005 02:00 PM (GMT)
Yay another person into the Kaiser Chiefs! I'm fast becoming obsessed with them. For some strange reason I'm attracted to the singer Ricky Wilson, even though he's totally not my type, I think it's the piercing personally! :rude

where_the_wild_things_are - May 12, 2005 05:16 AM (GMT)
i looove the white stripes oh so much, ummm also Gomez (anyone know em? they're fantastic!) The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The libertines, Kings of Leon, Interpol, The Ramones....etc etc etc :) Music is my passion

Edit: ooh the Brunettes, almost forgot the brunettes!! (see avatar + signature)

LittleMissMercy - May 12, 2005 01:43 PM (GMT)
I brought the first Gomez album years ago (if I'm thinking of the right band and haven't just gone totally insane.)

well their first album came out in about 1998, methinks it won the mercury prize. could very possibly be the gomez im talkin bout! I dont actually know anyother Gomez's so its more than likely :D dont worry your not insane! :P

snoopybing - May 22, 2005 05:38 PM (GMT)
I'm kinda easy when it comes to music. im going through a 'Queens of the Stone Age' phase at the mo but I also really like razorlight, snow patrol, green day, foo fighters, my chemical romance...

I'm I the only person who thinks that the Chiefs aren't that great? I saw them supporting Franz Ferdinand in December and they do put on a good show but i think all their songs are dead... samey.

*she runs to the nearest bunker and prepares to shield herself from the onslaught of insults* :runaway

where_the_wild_things_are - May 23, 2005 12:13 AM (GMT)
i dont actually know them kaiser chiefs.....ive heard good things but really cant be bothered finding out for myself, to many people go on and on at me to listen to bands that end up sucking so i dont listen to things people recomend any more i just go "im sure its crap" .... :P bit silly really but meh i guess im just cynical

LittleMissMercy - May 24, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)
Well the Kaiser Chiefs aren't the sort of band I'd usually listen too, but I would definately say check them out. Their music is very witty and while Oh My God and Everyday I Love You Less and Less are slightly similar the album is very diverse.

where_the_wild_things_are - May 28, 2005 07:02 AM (GMT)
hmmm, ill give em a try sometime then :)

CraigJamieson88 - May 29, 2005 07:37 PM (GMT)
Right, Ok, I have a top 5 personally... Sad i know....

1) Oasis (heard them first when I was 6 and havent stopped listening since!)
2) Coldplay (First heard them 2 years back, huge fan now and Im off to see them on june 27th!!)
3) Travis ('Sing' got me listening to these, i cant wait for their new album!)
4) Snow Patrol (I prefer their early stuff to newer stuff, although Run and Wow are good)
5) Stereophonics.... mmm, 'phonics!!

where_the_wild_things_are - May 30, 2005 04:30 AM (GMT)
what ive heard of Snow Patrol i have liked. Ive been meaning to investigate furthur but can never be bothered <_< Dammit there are so many cds i need to get!!!

CraigJamieson88 - May 30, 2005 11:14 AM (GMT)

cheddargorge - September 14, 2005 08:55 PM (GMT)
Hey, I am a green wing desperatly waiting for the DVD to come out. I also really like music. I am really into Incubus, Creed, A Perfect Circle, but also other stuff like Katy Rose and the Cardigans. I just really like music. Apart from stuff like "fiddy cent" and "I hate my mum so shoot me" etc. Well... I made that last one up, but you know what I mean... I hope. Anyway, byeee

humancannonball - October 19, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
I like emo, rock, punk rock and so on.
Now I've been listening to Brand New, 30 Seconds To Mars (Jared Leto is so hot :D ), Hoobastank, Lostprophets..

Edit. Snow Patrol is also great :)

LittleMissMercy - October 21, 2005 05:04 PM (GMT)
I had no idea Jared Leto was in a band! but yes to the hotness, but he doesn't deserve a smilie, I like to keep them for JRT (or Paul Bettany if he ever comes up)

where_the_wild_things_are - November 24, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)
oooh Paul Bettany is pretty! :)

also, another band that i really like that i just found out about recently is called Pagoda, the singer, guitarist guy is Michael Pitt who is an actor....think Hedwig and the angry itch, The Dreamers, The Last Days etc....hes also very pretty  :D

snoopybing - November 26, 2005 05:57 PM (GMT)
coolness.

I don't know about everyone else but I think I'm starting to turn into a music snob. I was just sitting about today and me and my friend (a fellow music snob) were comparing iPods (yes I finally got one!!!!) and I was like "Simple Plan? Pah! Good Charlotte? Why, they are not worthy to kiss Dave Grohl's feet!" Shocking, I know. My 'QOTSA' phase seems to have merged into just a heavy metal phase in general, and that anything else isn't worthy of my time. (Apart from Snow Patrol. Still have a soft spot for them.) My music snob buddy, however, is an indie snob, which I think is a hundred times worse. Metal rules! Yar!

P.S: Artic Monkeys - yay or nay? I quite like the dancefloor song but I don't think its anything special.

cheddargorge - November 27, 2005 09:37 PM (GMT)
Anybody else here like The Hot Puppies? Friggin' love em'.

snoopybing - January 29, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)

cheddargorge - January 29, 2006 09:09 PM (GMT)
I am, but I'm not too sure how to use it... my username is... wait for it... cheddargorge. I didn't realise you could get like friends on it though. How exciting.

snoopybing - January 30, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
Yeah you have to install a couple of programmes (Audioscrobbler its called) and they record what you listen to, send it to the website and recommend similar bands to you. Kinda Big-Brothery, I know. I just launch it everytime I'm on the computer. But its good.

something-blue - April 10, 2006 08:07 PM (GMT)

We went to see them at Alexandra Palace the other month - it's the first time we've seen them live and it was brilliant. It was my idea to go, Mike wasn't sure but he's more of a fan then me now.

At the moment apart from Placebo, I'm listening to the new Pink album, Coldplay, Muse and U2. OHh and there's The Rasmus B)

Bands is hard but I'll have a go:

U2, The Beatles, Matchbox 20, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ben Folds Five, The Cure, The Smiths, Kaiser Chiefs, Blur, Oasis (yep, I like both), Shakespeare's Sister (Completely underappreciated band), Queen, Madness, Led Zeppelin, Alisha's Attic (again, underappeciated), Lighthouse Family, 3 Doors Down, Bush, Nirvana, Simon & Garfunkel, Travis, Sugababes, Texas, Pulp, Kosheen, Foo Fighters, Cake (mad band), Crowded House.

I'm almost definite there are way more than that, but that's all I could think of for now :)
