Anyone oging to watch?
It's an adaptation of Phillip Pullman's book, starring Billie Piper as Sally Lockhart.
I love the books so I'm going to record it. :D
I can't really find much about it anywhere, though, expect the person in RT says it's very like the book, which is good.
It's on at 8:30 tonight, BBC something. One, I think. Maybe Two...

I can't believe there's anyone on here who hasn't heard of this, the BBC have been plugging it endlessly for the last week. I think it's their only big new Drama for Christmas in amongst all the repeats
Sorry, ummm........... yes I'm going to watch it, I have to as I have a big circle round it in the Radio Times :)

Ohhhhhhhhhh this was good. Although if I'd realised there were going to be that many murders, Mike and I would have had a bet on how many each (like Midsomer Murders).

Completely devoted to the books so thought that Billie Piper played it a bit too seriously and where was Trembler? Legendary character. Will let the fact that they made Jim much older go as he was HOT

hmmm. there were good things and bad things. i LOVE the books. a lot. so it annoyed me when they changed small small things that didnt need to be changed (why couldnt she have rinsed her teeth in the teapot, not a teacup?).
anyway, the plot was pretty much the same :thumbsup but too many of the characters were too different for me. mrs holland was brilliant tho.
agreed on the tragic absence of trembler. and jim wasnt dirty enough. he's supposed to be a personification of all the grime in the cheapside air.
ok, i could write an essay about this, so i'd better stop there before i really get going.

Hmm, overall I'd say it was a bit of a disappointment, but that's what happens with BBC dramas XD However I think Fred was really good, and Mr Berry and Mrs Holland, though I detested Nicholas Bedwell and his twin >.<
And Jim was supposed to be so much younger (amongst other things)… I couldn’t get over that fact -_-
