Yet there's a ray of hope for the show's fans, "I'm hoping to do another Channel 4 comedy imminently, possibly starring some of the same cast. Hopefully, it will be some kind of spin-off from Green Wing," says Pile, who won an Emmy for the sketch show Smack the Pony.

yes but JOEY was not written by the same people as friends, also it didn't work because the 6 were soo tight that it was a gay idea - with green wing it is possible to have the lives of some of the characters without the others but it would have to function very differently - i.e. you could have a statham/joanna spin off but you wouldn't get so many cut aways etc etc - does that make sense?

i know all the story lines can stand on their own and i can see how the idea would work, but would it really be the same without all of them? i like the mixture of the different characters! if you cut anyone out of GW it wouldn't be right! (apart from angela but that was different lol)
