Great topic idea! I love translating quotes of things into other languages (it normally distracts me when I try to do my French homework).

Thanks to PR for pointing this thread out to me. I hadn't seen it before. This is weird because my suggestion (in CupboardLady's welcome thread) of translating quotes was just something I do and I had no idea other people were doing it.

Are you all using machine translators, though? You do know they're pretty damned unreliable? :rolleyes: If you put something foreign that isn't too simple in and ask it to translate it into English, you tend to get something hysterically ridiculous. I admit they can be useful but are really not to be trusted.

I've been trying to do the translation by myself (and with a dictionary), but it's not easy.

Ok, I'll try.. (with my excellent knowledge of español.. ahem!)

According to a French dictionary I was using today, the nickmame, "Ginger" in French is "Poil des Carottes" (literally, Carrot Hair).
