Watching Green Wing, I always assumed Guy was from a French-speaking Swiss background, based on his name and the fact that French appeared to be his second language (the letter from his adopted father, the terms used in Guyball, calling Mac gingre) - however, both Zurich and Gstaad are in German-speaking regions of Switzerland. It seems very odd that he would grow up in Zurich speaking French, and that his biological father from Gstaad should have such a French-sounding name as Fabian Leclerq.
That is strange, Guillaume is a French name too. Maybe they moved there when he was quite young :) just for the sake of the storyline. I guess there must be some French-speaking families in the mostly German areas, just preference I guess.
Maybe the GW writers don't know this?
There's also the fact that Mac appears to have abetter French accent than Guy, which is odd.
Maybe Guy had learning diffuclties and couldn#t speak when he was sent over to England at the age of 4 and learnt to speak here so he learnt English?
Stranger things have happened.

That would explain quite a lot about Guy ... not the name Guillame Secrectan though, which just doesn't sound German at all. How much less sexy would Guy be if he was called Wilhelm Schmidt instead? And Mac's French accent is, as you said, far better than Guy's (not to mention incredibly sexy).
that is rather odd.......
Oh and Mac's french accent :heart yum........*drools and faints*
