..lol i'll just put what it says in the TV guide its easier.. not sure if it counts as a spolier..i wouldnt read it unless you want to know basic plot
''Former mechanic Raymond Fox's world fall apart in comedy-drama The Good Houskeeping Guide. 'Raymond's at a moment in his life where everything crashes and burns arounf him. I'm afraid that happens tp people with depressing regularity,' says Alan Davis who plays him.
House-husband Raymond is stunned when his Glamorous high-powered wife Jenny (Michelle Gomez) reveals taht she's found a younger man. But at least there's some consolation.
- he looks after their two teenage children in the plush suburban family home. However, Jenny decides to buy him out of the house, so that she can live there with her new lover and the kids.
'Raymond's a desperate man. The house that he built is on the market,' says Alan. 'He's going to lose everything - his wife, his house and his kids and a new man is going to take his place.'
The answer to Raymond's money troubles comes from an unexpected source. When he goes on holiday, Raymond asks his neighbour Lydia (Doon Mackichan) to water his plants. But on his return, he is shocked to learn the Lydia's been working as a prostitute and has been using his house to meet clients! Soon, though, he realises he can turn the situation to his advantage.
'Raymond realises that there are large sums of cash to be made by opening his house as a brothel,' Alan says.
After starting life as a stand up comic, Alan migrated to acting roles on the small screen. For the past three years, he's also appeared on the quiz QI. But he is perhaps best known as Jonathan Creek, in the series of the same name, which was written by David Renwick.
'David is an astonishingly imaginative writer, but it would be a lot to ask him to go back to it and dream up more spectacular plots. Having said that, if he agrees to write some more, i'd do it again in a flash!' adds Alan

Adds that it's on this Saturday at 9.10 pm on BBC1 and that it's only a one off. I love Alan Davies so will definately be watching this.
The write up in the Radio Times is:-
This is a very odd confection, like a vol-au-vent stuffed with Turkish delight - fun yes, novel certainly, but liable to put a puzzled look on your face. It's the last of BBC1's one-off comedy dramas, and for once, it deserves the name, as there are some real, laugh-out-momnts and at least one genuinely sad one, too.
The story revolves around Raymond a fussy suburban househusband who has devoted himself to raising his children, while his ex-wife (Michelle Gomez) pursues her high-flying career. From this premise the story proceeds lazily and via some whimsical plotting into Benny Hill territory, courtesy of a neighbour (Doon Mackichan) with a saucy secret. The pacing is sleepy and the characters' motivations don't add up, but all the leads are so wonderfully watchable that by the end, the tale's quirks had won me over - even if, like that overambitious canape, it left the strangest taste in the mouth.
Looks like Michelle's going to wearing smart suits again if she's playing a high flying career women.

aghhhh I missed it. We had friends round for the evening and I forgot to set up the video recorder :( Still had a good night though B) and I didn't poison them with my cooking which is always a relief when I'm attempting to feed people. :ph43r:

Shame you missed it IMO as it was very good (although I'm sure your dinner with friends was great too - I'm very envious that you managed to cook for them as whenever me and my other half have friends round he has to cook otherwise I'd have to start 3 weeks beforehand and everything would still end up burnt and inedible!).
Brilliant acting all round, but in particular Alan Davies was great! Loved him with his tips on housework - for example, time yourself doing a task, then the next time you do it try to beat your previous time!
And enzotherhino I agree, it was nice to see Michelle Gomez playing a 'normal' character (relatively!). I haven't seen her in much else other than GW, so it was interesting.
