Title: Extras
monkey_we_trust - September 15, 2006 09:51 AM (GMT)
anyone watch the new series that started last night? it was hilarious, i love steve merchant and barry from eastenders, in this they are so funny together, oh barry, what a legend
poo on a plate - September 15, 2006 11:34 AM (GMT)
It was fab! Orly was actually good in this. I was laughing my arse off. Sheer brilliance.
littlered - September 15, 2006 06:08 PM (GMT)
I think it was even better than the last series, if that's possible. I laughed the entire time, and it was amazing to see Orlando Bloom doing some good acting - in the other things I've seen him in he always seems quite wooden, but it this he was great.
JRT/SM ultimate fan! - September 15, 2006 06:12 PM (GMT)
i loved that womans face when orly kissed maggie. sheer brilliance!!

i know what you mean, it was hilarious, the only prob is with such a brilliant starting edisode then it could be tricky keeping that high standard, but we shall but see.
cant wait for next week with the legend that is Mr David Bowie :worship
kittyofdoom - September 16, 2006 10:51 AM (GMT)
I caught a couple of the first ones and I know Daniel Radcliffe's making an appearance soon, when's it on guys? I guess it's BBC 2?
poo on a plate - September 16, 2006 12:39 PM (GMT)
BBC 2, thursdays at nine. I've seen a clip of the one with Daniel Radcliffe and I nearly wet myself I was laughing so much. Pure genius.
kittyofdoom - September 17, 2006 09:08 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it's going to be good I think, but the reason he's in a scout's uniform in it is that they couldn't have any reference to the HP films, apparently, so he couldn't even be in school uniform. Weird :) but it looks like it's going to be a fun one, hehe.
poo on a plate - September 17, 2006 09:49 AM (GMT)
Really? Thats so bizarre! It's not as though Harry Potter were the first films to include School uniforms. Showbiz is very odd indeed.
madelinenancy - September 18, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
yeh i thought ob was surpirsingly good- i have a theory that he's a lot like Tom Cruise, in that tom's only had one great role ever- in magnolia, because he was playing a bad guy. to actually be good they need to play against type and they're both very Good-Guyish, so whenever they play bad or slimy characters they're great!!
poo on a plate - September 18, 2006 06:00 PM (GMT)
I hate Tom Cruise - But I agree about him playing against type. He's superb in Interview with the vampire.
kittyofdoom - September 18, 2006 11:18 PM (GMT)
Definitely, one of Cruise's best (and I'm not a big fan). Interview with the Vampire is an ace film, love it :D
xjessx - September 19, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)
i didnt like him in magnolia..he was my least fav character!! i do love that film though bit confusing and i still dont see how there all connected...the soundtrack is great!!
*debbie* - September 19, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)

Daniel Radciffe is going to be in an episode. I think madelinenancy's a bit excited about it. ;)
bingle - September 21, 2006 05:33 PM (GMT)
Oh I see!
*thinks to herself* ... Actually I still don't get it, but I'm just gonna nod and smile and back away slowly from the forum...
poo on a plate - September 21, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)
I thought she was quoting Alan Partridge, the episode Steve was in. DAN! DAN! DAN! etc
bingle - September 21, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
Ok I'm even more confuzzled now!
kittyofdoom - September 21, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
It's on after the break if anyone wants to see it and needs a reminder :D
monkey_we_trust - September 22, 2006 10:41 AM (GMT)
this episode was ace, i loved bowie song about andy, "pathetic little fat man" and again i think steve merchant and barry for eastender stole the show, what legends :D
kittyofdoom - September 22, 2006 11:06 AM (GMT)
I have to admit that, while I fund it amusing, just like the office, I found that episode in particular more cringeworthy than funny. I think that's what Ricky gervais must do best. I liked the ones in the first series, I saw the one with Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet and the guy who played Grant Mitchell. They were done in a very different style I think. What does everyone else think?
poo on a plate - September 22, 2006 12:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I didn't think last night's episode was that funny, it just made me feel uncomfortable. I know that's what Gervais does, but the first series felt a lot lighter and more fun.
littlered - September 22, 2006 05:24 PM (GMT)
I liked it, it was very well written, but I didn't find it as funny as past episodes. I liked the way Andy and the celebrities interacted previously due to his being an extra (if that makes any sense) - now that's changed, as he's more on their level.
madelinenancy - September 23, 2006 11:56 AM (GMT)
i dunno if the humour's exactly to mi taste.....
its better wen stuff's random
luvinit! - September 28, 2006 10:04 PM (GMT)
WOW. I actually think Danny boy was quite good. A kind of bad Harry Potter. :rude
 excuse me. *runs away*
kittyofdoom - September 29, 2006 08:10 AM (GMT)
Ah shite, was it the HP one yesterday? I missed it :cry
Was it good? Will it be repeated??
littlered - September 29, 2006 08:21 AM (GMT)
It was good, but I'm not sure about repeats. Have you checked Youtube?
kittyofdoom - September 29, 2006 08:27 AM (GMT)
No, I was worried all there would be were clips, not the actual episode
don't BBC three and stuff do repeats? That's how I got to watch Dr. Who when I had to babysit saturdays. I'll have a look-see :)
kittyofdoom - September 29, 2006 08:42 AM (GMT)
Found the whole episode on BBC,
here :)
kittyofdoom - September 29, 2006 09:09 AM (GMT)
I loved the Daniel Radcliffe bits :) fantastic, because he's such a lovely kid in real life, hehe.
"Do you still have that cat suit you wore in Avengers?"
"Go away, Daniel"
:D brilliant.
