Title: Confetti

hels - November 20, 2004 06:20 PM (GMT)
Stephen will be appearing in the following film:

Filming has begun on CONFETTI, co-financed by BBC Films, Wasted Talent and Screen West Midlands.

Directed by Debbie Isitt, CONFETTI brings together an impressive ensemble of top UK comedy talent, which includes, amongst others, Martin Freeman (Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Love Actually, The Office), Jessica Stevenson (Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, The Royle Family), Steve Mangan (Green Wing), Felicity Montagu (I'm Alan Partridge), award-winning comedian Jimmy Carr in his first screen performance and Alison Steadman (Topsy-Turvy, Life Is Sweet). CONFETTI will film for six weeks in the UK.

CONFETTI is a sharp and affectionate comedy that charts the journey of three couples as they battle it out to win the coveted title of 'Most Original Wedding of the Year'.

CONFETTI will feature some of Britain's finest comedic actors. The cast will work without a script but within a carefully crafted story frame, having undergone several weeks of intense workshops where they began the process of developing and inhabiting their roles.

xjessx - April 12, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
has he got a big part or is he in it every now and then??????????

xjessx - April 12, 2006 07:37 PM (GMT)
mark heap (dr statham) is in it too..

kittyofdoom - April 14, 2006 09:50 AM (GMT)
I think also, Olivia Colman (Harriet Schulenburg in GW) is one of the couples going for the most original wedding, the naturist wedding that is.

chloe - April 14, 2006 12:13 PM (GMT)
There all there! lol wow

seen trailer, must see it :D

If only JRT was in it :|

kittyofdoom - April 15, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
Yes :) then that would be pure greatness. That's what I liked about Shaun of the Dead, lots of people I enjoy watching in the same film. I'm looking forward to seeing Jessica Stevenson in Confetti (the bride who's having a musical wedding), she's the co-writer and co-star of Spaced.

MacsLover - April 18, 2006 06:20 PM (GMT)
The premiere's on May 3rd at the VUE cinema in Leicester Square, London. Am quite tempted to go and meet Stephen Mangan again! And also Olivia and Mark!!!

The film is released May 5th!

kittyofdoom - April 20, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
It's a shame the head of Confetti is Jimmy Carr, I can't stand the guy, it's his voice, and his smarminess. Sorry if there are any Jimmy Carr fans here, it's only my opinion, still, I'll have to put up with him for the sake of all the other good people in Confetti.

azuresoul - April 24, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
i know, doesn't he really annoy everyone? his face is just so.... plastic. And, yeah, a couple of his jokes are a little amusing, but not laugh-out-loud funny.

where did you all see the trailer?

where did you all see the trailer?

I saw it on the Apple Movie Trailers page, which requires Quicktime, but I'm sure the official site has it too :)

Just saw the trailer last night at the cinema, and has to agree with kittyofdoom about Jimmy Carr

Does look good though and the trailer includes Olivia starkers :o

And as I sat through American Dreamz last night (not the best of films *yawns*) then I'm sure I can put up with the Jimmy Carr bits, and my friend wants to see it so we're going :thumbsup

azuresoul - May 3, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
its not showing at any of my local cinemas :( does anyone know - have they only added it to the cinema listings recently, or at the cinemas it is showing at, has it said it will be showing for quite a long time?

if that makes any sense....

IMO - May 3, 2006 10:37 PM (GMT)
It's definately out this month sometime :D Don't know how long it be showing for, but our cinema tends to run films for about 3 weeks if they're not massive blockbusters.

azuresoul - May 3, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)

jessxx - May 8, 2006 09:49 AM (GMT)
i read an article that say's stephen's character in confetti is apparently
and i quote

"Did you have to stay in character for most of the time that you were on set?

JW It would be a lie to say that we stayed in character for a whole day’s filming, but we did have to stay in character for a very long time, often with only a few minutes’ break. What made it particularly difficult was that you never knew when you were going to be able to stop acting because there was no-one there to tell you when the scene should end. You had to really drive the action to make things happen.

VF I certainly didn’t stay in character all the time, though I think some people did.

JW Steve Mangan was consistently horrible.
VF That’s not being in character, that’s just Steve [laughs]. "

lol yeah i saw an interview with ppl from confetti - and cos the tennis coach, Jesus, wasnt an actor, they said that he might have thought that stephen actually did hate him, and he felt like hitting him. So the director told him to. So he did. Hence the fight scene, that Stephen had no idea was about to happen!!

it looks really good though! cos its so spontaneous

lol parts of the film were really good - i loved the bit where steve ran back and ploughed into jesus, and when he was playing the guitar for isabelle - hes one sexy bastard lol.

jessxx - May 17, 2006 12:58 PM (GMT)
