Is there, or has there ever been, a name for any of the episodes?

I was tying to avoid looking up printing presses on wikipedia, and i was wadnring through the list of movie references etc on there.

For the first series they seem to give each episode names.

Me, I've never actually spotted a name, just episode one, episdoe two, etc, even on the DVD.

Sometimes people call them after what happens in the episode (ie Party ep)

But that's just descriptions, yes?

That's what i always thought, anyway. Now Wikipedia has thrown me into doubt.

I was wondering about this today - most of the episodes titles given on Wikipedia do just sound like descriptions, but the one for Episode 7, "Tangled Webs", doesn't - it sounds more like an official title. And would they just make up episode titles? In other programmes without any titles given (The Office, Peep Show etc.) all it says on the Wikipedia entries is "Episode One", "Episode Two" and so on. So I'm not sure where the titles come from, but I suspect it may be an official source.

On channel4.com:

here
It has the name of the episodes for series 1 but not series 2...

PigRescuer - September 2, 2006 04:16 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Tnagled Webs is the one i always wonder about.

Surely it should be 'Remote Control Car?' Or for non-caromacs - 'Jesus Popping Up.'

:D

If it is from an official source, WHY are they not on the DVD?

Maybe they forgot and left the titles off of the DVD. Shame it would make it much easier to find the episode you want, for people who don't know the whole thing inside out and upside down.

PigRescuer - September 2, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
Is there anyone on here that doesn't?

xpingux - September 2, 2006 05:15 PM (GMT)
haha :P

From what I've gathered, those titles are official. Something else I've gathered is they named all the series 1 eps but just numbered the series 2 ones. I read that somewhere but can't remember where.

I think I'll PM James Henry and ask. Or would that be stalkerish?

PigRescuer - December 3, 2006 02:12 PM (GMT)

He is a member of this forum, and by right, we should be fine with PMing him. If he actually reads it is another matter. There are several members on this forum that don't appear to read (or at least reply) to PMs.

Unless they just like ignoring me. :(

Yep, it's probably that second one. ;)
I will PM him, then, but I'll try to dial down the crazy (if I can).

We have an answer!

These are real episode titles, given out with the show along with brief descriptions of each episode, so people in the radio times and so on would know what to put in their magazines. There was a bit of confusion though, as one episode ran so long it got split into 2 ( I think there was an 8a and an 8b at one point), which is possibly why we used titles rather than numbers for series one.

PigRescuer - December 5, 2006 04:19 PM (GMT)
Ah.

Well thanks for that, James.

And Verity, for asking him. :D

Although he still hasn't replied to my second PM. Think I should bombard him with "Respond!" messages?

guyoline - December 6, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)

Remember that Wikipedia is edited by a LOT of different people. Just about anybody can edit any article. I think, that if they were official names, we would have known...

Or what? :)

they must be official seeing as they are on the ch4 website

PigRescuer - December 8, 2006 06:29 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that's what I thought.

And JH cleared it up, so it is right. :D

I was wondering though. The recipe in the script book - is it real?

My mum looked at it and said that apart from the fact there's no flour, it'd make a cake. Without the flour it'll just be a thick liquid and burn in the oven.

xpingux - December 8, 2006 06:51 PM (GMT)
lol
i dunno.
i might try making it in the holidays haha :P
