Sumo Guardians: 001

It was a dark night in the city as the moon glared down, shining an unnatural colour. In a tall, windowless building that looked too clean, two men scanned the city for something. “Find anything yet?” the tall, slim one with long dark hair asked the short, fat one with thick glasses. “Nothing.” He replied, searching the monitor for any signal. “The only way will find them is if they active there powers.”
“Then lets just hope they do before Queen Devourer finds them.”
Meanwhile in the museum across town, there are two security guards. The one watching anime on an old TV when she shouldn’t is named Holly Nova. She’s about average height, through a tad overweight. She has long blond hair and a chubby but somewhat cute face. And ever since she knew about Japan and the anime it brought, she wanted to be a super hero magic girl. Her sister, Anne Nova, the other security guard, on the other hand dislike anime and is considering throwing that TV across the room. Anne was almost the total opposite of her sister; tall, strong, and mean. She had long black hair and scar on her cheek from a fight long ago. But for all their differences, they had one thing in common, and that is in a few minutes, they will become the greatest heroes of all time.

But they don’t know it yet.

But then again, they never do.

“Miss Holly Nova!” Came the voice of an angry Mr. Robertson, the museum’s owner. “Could you please tell me why you’re watching your little cartoon shows instead of guarding my museum?”
“Sir, it’s called anime.” Holly stated.
“I don’t care if called ‘the queen moons everyone.’ This is the third time this week I caught you slacking off.”
“Leave her alone, Old Man No-Hair.” Anne mutters bored with Robertson’s complaining.
“And you!” The museum owner barks turning his attention to Anne. “Why have I heard that you threw a man out of a 3rd-story window just the other day?”
“He was stealing a painting.”
“Well, I don’t who stole what or who mooned who, you two are fired! Get out of here at once! But before you go, take these boxes to the backroom. Then lock up when you’re done.” Grumbling, Holly and Anne pick up the boxes and head to backroom.
“Hey, what do you think is in these boxes?” Holly asks as she steps into the backroom.
“I don’t know.” Anne says as tears open her box. “But whatever it is, it’s mine.”
“Anne, don’t! We’ll get into trouble.”
“C’mon, Robertson has left and we’re fired, what do we have to lose?”
Finally curiosity got the better of Holly and she found herself ripping open her box. Inside the packages, they each found what looked like an ancient, but perfectly clean belt buckle. Holly’s was pink, white and gold with image of a hippo head on it, while Anne’s was purple, black and red with the image of an elephant on it. “Cool!” Holly cheered, “Maybe they have magic powers.” “They do not have magic powers!” Anne snapped, shaking her buckle. Suddenly a voice stirred from the elephant. “We are awaken, Yin.” It said in a ghostly neither male nor female. “You just awake now?” replied Holly’s buckle. “I’ve been awake for years.” “Wow, you talk!” Holly said in the greatest excitement. “Can you give us super powers so we can fight evil? My name’s Holly Nova, and that’s my sister, Anne.” “Well Holly, I’m Yin, and one your sister’s holding is Yan.” The hippo on Holly’s belt buckle replied. “As for super powers, I think I can help you with that, just put me on.” “Wait.” Anne interrupted “I’m not sure you should.” “Relax, Anne, what could go wrong?” Holly said, as she put on the magical belt buckle. Her clothes then suddenly glowed a bright white and turned into a bizarre gold, white and pink superhero outfit, made up of a 1-piece swimsuit, long rubber gloves and boots, all top off with a golden circlet. “Check me out!” Holly shouted as she showed off her new outfit. “So what cool powers do I have?” “Those are just the clothes, you’ll get your powers now.” Yin told her. But before Holly could ask what powers she’ll get, her belly began to bubble and groan, and suddenly ballooned like a huge blob monster from a bad movie, with a bosom sitting on top of it so large, that you could stuff some one down her cleavage and lose them. Her arms filled out like massive water beds and legs had to swell up just to support her new colossal body. She was expanding in all directions, height as well as width, even her head felt bigger. By the time she stopped growing she twice the height of Anne and more than seven times as wide. Anne looked up at her in complete shock. “H-Holly?” “Behold! With my new size and power, I have become the Heaven Sumo!” Boomed the huge Holly, showing off her new gigantic form. “Now put on yours!”
“What? No way, Holly!”
“It’s Heaven Sumo now, and if you’ll put yours on, we can go fight evil!”
“No!”
“If you don’t, I’ll go off and fight crime all by myself.”
“But.”
“Maybe you better, Anne.” Yan interrupted. “If she goes off to try to and save the world by herself, she only get herself killed, we both know that.” Cursing to herself, Anne had to agree with her belt buckle. Biting her tongue, she slid on buckle and was over come by a great tingling feeling in her whole body, then swelled up just like Holly had done. “Cool!” Remarked Heaven Sumo, as Anne stumbled around dazed, trying to regain her footing. “I think you’re a foot taller than me, but I’m a foot wider.” “That’s wonderful.” Anne mutters as she had a look at her new size. She was wearing a black, red and purple corset and short skirt, with matching high-heel boots and gloves, all toped off with a silver crown. “Hey, your outfit has a dark colour scheme, you should call yourself Dark Sumo.” Heaven Sumo suggested. “Look, I now weight a million pounds and dressed like a vampire princess because of this damn thing.” Shouted the newly named Dark Sumo. “I’m not calling myself that.”
“Relax, Dark Sumo, you look fine.”
“I look like a blimp with clothes on, really tacky clothes!”
“You do not. I think you look really cute.”
“Cute?!”
Meanwhile while the two sisters were fighting, a dark army had entered the museum, made up of terrifying monsters that looked like obese women but had no features and were only made up of twisting, sickening colour, that always seemed to change and with two pure white angry eyes. They were being lead by a huge woman, about the same size of Heaven Sumo and Dark Sumo. It fact, she was a lot like Heaven Sumo and Dark Sumo, but so much more unpleasant to look at. Her skin was cover with dirt and grime, and hair was soaked it mud. She had had large rotting lower teeth that always stuck out of her mouth, even when closed. And she wore a dirty green tan-top and jeans that seemed to be growing moss. “Everything is ready on our end, boss.” She muttered to the floating orb her commander used to keep an eye her. “Very good, Earthquake.” Came an evil voice from the orb. “Have the gluttons find the two belt buckles while you find me that book. Use the earth sphere if you need too, but get that book.” “You heard her.” Earthquake commanded the monsters “Tear this place and find the buckles, I’m going to the basement to find the book.” And while a mighty stomp, she smashed a hole in the floor and jumped down into the basement.
Meanwhile, Dark Sumo and Heaven Sumo discussed the pros and cons of being fattened up into giant superheroes. “I mean, Holly, we can’t get out of this room now because we’re too damn big.” Argued Dark Sumo. “It’s Heaven Sumo in this form, Dark Sumo, and your failing to relies that with our new forms, we’re so powerful that we could break down walls with one punch.” And before Dark Sumo could tell Heaven Sumo to stop calling her Dark Sumo, Heaven Sumo demonstrated her power by smashing down the wall, yelling a loud “Hi-ya!” “Check that ou-what are they?” Heaven Sumo gasped spotting the bloated demons. “They’re Gluttons, evil minions of Queen Devourer.” Explained Yin. “They exist only to serve her. Their main hobby is eating just about anything, like us.”
“Then what do you do?”
“Well you can fight. That could work.” Yan suggested. “Now that’s not a bad idea.” Dark Sumo sneered as she swung at three Gluttons, hitting all of them, causing them to dissolve into a sickening mist. “Cool! We’re fighting evil just like anime heroes,” Heaven Sumo shouted, performing an attack she had once seen in a monster movie, destroying three Gluttons it the progress. The two sisters manage to destroy one glutton after another, but for each one that disappeared more come to take their place. “We’re going to be over-whelmed with these things in bit.” Cried Heaven Sumo. “Don’t worry. I have a plan.” Her sister told her, grabbing her by the hands and swinging her around like a wrecking ball, smashing any glutton that came close. Soon, the museum was empty of Gluttons. “Whee! We did it!” Cheered Heaven Sumo, as she dizzily stumped around. “I have to admit, that was kind of fun. I could get use to this body.” Dark Sumo said, admiring herself. But the victory didn’t last long, as suddenly the whole a whole building began to shake and rumble. “An earthquake? Here?” Cried Heaven Sumo “How is that possible?” “There’s only one person who can cause earthquakes by herself.” Yin told them “Earthquake!” “What!?” Dark Sumo shouted, confused by Yin poor choice of words. “Her name is Earthquake,” explained Yan “She’s one of Queen Devourer’s troops. She must have got to the lower level through that hole and is now causing an earthquake in the basement.” “Then what are we waiting for.” Anne shouted as she and Heaven Sumo jumped though the hole in the floor Earthquake had made before.
Meanwhile, down in the basement, Earthquake was stomping the ground in a repeating pattern, cracking it into rubble, wondering why this book was so important, when Heaven Sumo and Dark Sumo landed on her. “Urggh.” Groaned Earthquake as she threw the sisters off her. “Who the hell are you?” “We are the guardians of truth and love. We fight evil where.” Heaven Sumo announced, but was cut off the roaring laughter of Earthquake, who wasn’t able to stop herself for five minutes. “Ok you wanna be heroes? Be heroes of being flat?” Laughed Earthquake as she smashed the ground, causing parts of the roof to fall on them. “Dammit! We can get when she’s raining rubble on us.” Cursed Dark Sumo as she pulled her sister out of the way of a falling piece of concrete. “Wait, I’ve got an idea. Heaven Sumo, be so kind as to tell this pus-filled wart who we are again.” “Hey you!” Shouted Heaven Sumo “Stop your evil way, or we will be force to punish you using the power of day and night!” But once again she was cut off by Earthquake’s laughter, which is exactly what Dark Sumo had wanted, as she snuck up behind her and broke a fallen pillar on the back of her head, knocking her to the ground. “Ugh, screw this.” Remarked Earthquake as she held up her bloody head. With a flash of colours, she disappeared back to where ever she came from.
“That was too easy.” Dark Sumo said as she looked at where Earthquake had been, picking up a dark green orb, perfectly round in shape that she found. “Guess she this behind, what is it?” “That is a Power Sphere of Earth.” Explained Yan “It’s a small bit of the Empresses’ power. It’s what allowed Earthquake to shake up this building. Now that you have it, you can use that power.”
“Who is this ‘Empresses’? And how do I use this power sphere?”
“She is the only thing that stands in the way Queen Devourer and eating the whole universe. The Empresses was the one who gave your new powers.”
“As well as your new figures.” Interrupted Yin “Guess she thought you were too thin, she has a bad case of doing that.” “As for wanting to use this new power, here.” Yan said, opening up, revealing what looked like a pit perfectly shaped for the Power Sphere. “Place the Power Sphere in the Sphere Lock.” Dark Sumo did as it said, and placed the orb in the lock and was overcome by a great heaviness, like she was rooted to the ground, as she glowed a dark green. When the glowing had stopped, the Power Sphere had disappeared, allowing Yan to close once more. “What happen?” Dark Sumo asked as she tries to move her feet to see if they were rooted to the ground. “You have absorbed the power, ‘Quake.” Explain Yan. “It allows you to make powerful Earthquakes.” “Cool, why was Earthquake destroying the museum?” Heaven Sumo asked. “She was properly after this.” Came a voice from behind them. It belong to a tall, slim man with long dark hair, who looked more like he belong in an anime than here in real life. He was holding an ancient book he had pulled out of the rubble. “I saw how you beat Earthquake. You two make an excellent team.” “Really? Thanks!” Heaven Sumo said, completely love stuck. “You can keep that book if you like.” “Hold up there, pretty boy.” Dark Sumo demanded, looming over the mysterious stranger “Tell me who you are and what you’re going to do with that book, before I squash you flat.” “Ease up there, big miss, I’m on your side.” He explains while trying to back away from Dark Sumo. “I work for L.A.R.G.E. League aiding righteous giant eaters, not the greatest name ever but we’re here to help you. We work in helping you fight evil and finding the power spheres. If you come with me I can show you.” “Ok!” Heaven Sumo cried before Dark Sumo could say no, and with that, he pulled out what looked like a futurist remote control and created a portal made of pure light. “By the way, I’m Gogrillgo. What do you call yourself?” Gogrillgo asked. “We are the protectors of the weak and crushers of evil. With our massive size and strength, we will save the universe from any evil. I am Heaven Sumo and she is Dark Sumo, and together we are The Sumo Guardians!”
“That name is going to need some work.” Dark Sumo joked, and with that, they went through the portal and to their new base.
