The new magic system has been introduced! There are a number of threads that everyone should review, including: New Magic System!, The Rules, and The Ability Tutorial. Those are the most important ones. This system is not necessarily permanent, but we are going to give it a trial run until the end of August. I hope that the level of creativity and freedom that you all now have will inspire people. I can't wait to see what you guys create!
Sphynx has been promoted to moderator status temporarily, in order to help out with the new system, as well as to replace me when I leave for a couple of weeks. She and I have been with this forum from almost the start. I'm sure she'll do a wonderful job. =)

Air Kingdom One of the more mountainous regions of Elenlond, the Air Kingdom provides innumerable breathtaking views from heights one might never have reached otherwise. The wind whistles across the land, whispering to travellers as they wander its rolling plains, plateaus, and cliffs.

Chaos Kingdom The Chaos Kingdom is a very mountainous region with areas that vary as much as the certainty of the magic within. Here access to the varying plains - whether spiritual, astral, or mortal - is much easier due to the overall chaotic nature of the land.

Darkness Kingdom The Darkness Kingdom is a very mysterious place. Marshes oozing with mud, uninviting lakes, and strange taverns are just a few of the places that one may find themselves at. Be wary: the Darkness is unforgiving.

Death Kingdom Graveyards and swamps characterize the Death Kingdom. Although one deity will assume the role of both Caretaker of Life and Death, the two Kingdoms differ greatly. There is a stench on the air that normal travellers may feel, but it is the necromancers thrive here, revering in it.

Fire Kingdom Centered mostly around the volcanic Mount Tsyndar, the Fire Kingdom is a rich, fertile land. Institutions of higher learning are scattered throughout, and temples dot the landscape.

The Kingdom of Ashoka Spanning the entire north of the Soaren continent, Ashoka is a dry nation, composed mainly of rolling dunes and rich oases. Towards the southern outskirts this vast desert fades into jungle, while near the centre lies the capital city, Eldahar. There are many smaller villages surrounding Eldahar, while, towards the outskirts of these, the desert tribes roam. The people here are quite used to the hot sun and the lack of available water, having learned to adapt quickly. Ashoka is ruled by a monarch, although only the nobility listen to him.

Soto To the south of Ashoka and sharing much of its border with the desert Kingdom is Soto, a neutral nation composing the entire western and much of the southern continent. Most of the nation is composed of large, sprawling forests that consume much of the available land. These forests are lush, home to innumerable creatures, and at times can be very dark. Rain frequents Soto, although there are enough sunny days to balance it out. Thick forests, beautiful waterfalls, and wide rivers frequent the nation. Madrid is its most prominent city, housing the Council of Twelve.

Morrim Morrim is Soare's eastern-most nation, situated south of Ashoka, east of Soto. Its eastern coast is backed by the Do'suul Mountains, a chain of ranges that makes it nearly impossible for ships to dock. The land is mostly composed of plains and valleys, the odd forest, swamps, and temples and other buildings dedicated to the beauty of Life and the law of Order. The two prominent cities, Kinaldi and Orl'Kabbar, differ greatly, the former being more upperclass. The nation as a whole is carefully presided over by the Empress.

The Island of Angkar Lying directly between Soare and Esiria, this continent is fertile, tropical in nature, and the most powerful 'free' force. Lavish forests intermixed with fruit-bearing trees run rampant here. Interspersed within are various towns and cities, each florishing under the rule of a central monarchy. They are often difficult to find due to their placement deep within the forests. The people of Angkar follow no particular religion and certainly do not worship the presiding deities of Elenlond.
The monarchs of Angkar are Razarod Evermore and Kenna Evermore.

The Kaadian Way The Kaadian Way not only links the two major continents of Elenlond, Esiria and Soare, but it also links each and every single elemental temple. Paved from start to finish - from eastern Esiria to western Soare - it is owned by no deity and will always remain as such. Any and all buildings found on this route are, for the most part, neutral, although there may be exceptions.

The Ruins of Storms It the farthest, darkest depths of Elenlond’s indigenous forests rests the remains of an ancient temple perverted by pure chaos and darkness. Not a drop of sunlight ever shines from the behind the ever swirling mass of rain clouds above these ruins. Hardly is there a time when the rain does not stream down from the sky in angry torrents. Though occasionally the rain will let up, but it will not completely dissipate. Hardly a creature roams these ruins save maybe those of the purest forms of darkness, demons untouched by the lure of the light. Though some might find this place to be depressing beyond all reason there are a few who find solace within its empty halls and ruined walls.

Ocean of the Ancients To the east of Esiria lies the Ocean of the Ancients. Left unclaimed by all of the deities, including the Goddess of Water, nobody knows where the name came from. A number of islands can be found here, the most prominent being the Daro. It is unknown whether the indigenous still live on these islands or not, but if one wanted to look, they might be able to discover the reason behind the ocean's name and the strange occurrences that happen on its waters...

Community of l’Treemmou Far from the normal recesses of Elenlond, on the furthest edge of the western border, sits the Community of l’Treemmou. Belonging to this community is a town housing a tavern or two as well as a large, foreboding forest. Few dare travel this far west. Forum Led by: The Faern |
