DC Anime Club President

DC Anime - June 24, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
For those of you who did not attend the club meeting this is what took place:

This was our clubs Regular Line UP/BYOA

We watched the following:
Cyborg 009-1
For those of you who watched the above anime please click the link below to tell ADVfilms what you thought of Cyborg 009-1:

http://www.advfilms.com/advocatesnew/Survey200706.asp

We also watched the following:
Guyver
Excel Saga
Gunbuster

During the meeting we took pics of club members with Transformers Merchandise for the folks of Paramount and gave away Pre Screening Tickets for members of DCAC.
So for those of you who have tickets for the Transformers Movie Pre- Screening here is the deal:
The Transformers Movie will be screened at the
Georgetown Movie Theatre
3111 K st NW Washington,DC 20007

Thursday June 28,2007

at 7:30pm.

Nearest subway station is Foggy Bottom Blue Line Subway Station.

However......

Mr. Rick Moreland representative of Paramount Pictures has warned us
that the Movie Theatre is overbooked so Rick has advised us to arrive
at 6:15pm so we can get in.

I would also like to point out that we the DCAC are watching the
Transformers Movie before Anime Expo which is the Largest Anime
Convention in the Nation and as Jonny pointed out during the club meeting even before BOTCON.

We had a special guest speaker during the club meeting as well.

Her name is Karen Berman
Director of Astra the manga musical with live action cartooning!
The Musical shall take place on July 7-14,2007 at the Warehouse Theatre 1021 7th St,NW washington,DC.
Closest Subway Station is Gallery PI Chinatown.
We the DCAC will be given a discount off ticket prices for the Musical. Still working this one out.

In exchange we the DC Anime Club will get a table to promote DC Anime
Club at Video Game Live and we are working on getting free tickets and
back stage passes for VGL. Though I gave Tommy Tolirico the guy in charge of VGL a number of tickets needed for DCAC to attend the event we have to wait till I get a e-mail back from Tommy regarding the situation.

The Folks of VGL are also looking for volunteers for the VGL.
VGL would like to invite any interested DC Anime Club Members to participate and help out with the show execution. Specifically:
1. Two volunteers to run the Guitar Hero II station
Both pre-show and at intermission two people will help setup the station, let people take turns and record scores to determine who the Guitar Hero II contest prize winners will be. These two people would come out early before intermission to help setup and prepare the booth.

2. One volunteer to register participants in the cosplay contest (pre-show only).

3. One volunteer to record scores in a space invaders contest. (pre-show and intermission). The fun part here is this is human space invaders!
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...e&search=Search

So, we are requesting 4 volunteers for each show, 8 people alltogether. Could be the same 4 people each night, or 8 different people. I undertand you are planning to attend as a club on the Saturday 6/30 show. For any Fri volunteers I believe we could make arrangements (ie. backstage or event passes) to get you in to help. ((Mike T., correct me if I'm wrong)).

Michael Tallarico will be your liason at the event. All volunteers will report to Michael and he will provide you with specific directions and get you all set up.

VGL is inviting the DC anime club to participate before offering to anyone else. VGL understands you will be meeting tomorrow 6/23, which is great timing. Please let the President of DCAC know about your interest and provide me with a list of names/emails of any/all volunteers by Monday 6/25. That way, I'll have some time to fill in any open gaps.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL !!!

VGL would like to invite DCAC all to attend the pre-show rehearsal. Later next week I will send you a VIP REHEARSAL PASS which will include details on location and time. Come and spend about 1/2 hour watching behind the scenes as Jack Wall and Tommy Tallarico prepare for the show and put the National Symphony Orchestra through its paces.
Showtime = 8PM. The pre-show festivities start 1 hour before the performance = 7:00PM. Volunteers should be there about 1/2 hour before the pre-show = 6:30 PM (1 1/2 hrs before show time).
