a Cosplay Contest, Prizes, raffle, Video Gaming and much more!!!

Here are the rules for the Cosplay Contest by DCAC Cosplay
Coordinator Jonny Gross:

Here are the Cosplay Contest Rules:
1. This competition is open to all who have a costume that is
related to characters or styles from any one of the following
catergories:
Anime
Manga
Video Games
J-Pop/J-Rock
Live-Action Jap. TV and/or Movies
EGL/EGA (Elegant Gothic Lolita/Elegant Gothic Aristocrat)
Japanese Street Fashion

2. If the costume was made by you, you will have a better chance of
winning than someone who bought their costume.

3. You must have a reference photo(s) for your costume.
The DCAC Cosplay Coordinator does not care how popular the series
is, or how well-known the character is. No reference material equals
loss of points towards your score.

4. There will be no biased judging, regardless or age, gender,
religion, etc. ad nauseum.
Even though the DC Anime Club Cosplay Coordinator is a guy, he will
go for the extremely intricate bulky armor cosplayer over the
scantily clad cosplayer.

Decision for Costume Contest winners will be based on four key
things:
Detail- precise workmanship in making the costume as exact as
possible to reference
Flow- how the costume reacts to the wearer while in movement
Effort- time and work placed into making costume or modifying
previously manufactured costume
and
Overall Attitude- dedication to the costume you are in, as far as
making you become the character.

The whole purpose of the Anime Art Show is to promote anime as an art
form.

In a Nutshell: We the DC Anime Club have been asked by the heads of
Anime Mid Atlantic to help run the Video Screening Rooms at the 2008
Anime Mid Atlantic.
Basicly we need at least 10 people who are at 16 and older to help
with the Screening rooms. Think of it as when we do our anime
screenings during club meetings.
All we have to do is pop the DVD in the DVD player and make sure no
one "walks away" with the equipment.
Food and Crash space will be provided to those who help with the
screening rooms for Anime Mid Atlantic.
There will be a total of 3 Screening rooms.
We will also need at least 2 more people to help man the DC Anime
Club table at Anime Mid Atlantic. There is talk of having two tables
for DC Anime Club so we can promote ourselves.
If we say yes to helping with the Anime Mid Atlantic Anime Screening
rooms WE CAN NOT BACK OUT!!!!

please think about it first.

On another note regarding Anime Mid Atlantic we the DC Anime club
will be helping to promote Anime Mid Atlantic via flyers and a press
