Update Thread for Diminishing Candles


Summary:

In the beginning of time, two superior elements were created, furnishing different worlds to their liking. One, Lumen, brought to the living the good, simple things - life, smiles, and laughter. The other, Malum, gave breath to dark, horrible things - death, jealousy, and strife.

The two worlds merged unknowingly, giving life to the universe and the dwellers. Malum and Lumen fought for control - Lumen for defense of the inferior beings, Malum for the bringing of darkness the world has never seen. For five billion years, the two fought on, sending out their agents into their created world. The races grew and expanded, knowing full well of the war waged above them.

In those five billenia, a weakness began to rip through the dimensions of war through which Malum and Lumen reigned. Malicious beings slipped through, plaguing the races. Benevolent lifeforms also came through the dimension warps, balancing yet again the scale. And so, Lumen and Malum brought their war to yet another dimension.

During this time, souls willing to make a difference set out from their clans, to banish the intruding souls. Will you help bring a new fire to the diminishing candles of hope?

Brushing sweat from her brow, Namie stood up, her right hand carrying a dark leather suitcase. Ahead of her was a shuttle, crowded with people coming in. To the left of that was another shuttle, where people were exiting, their light chatter filling the airport.

"Come Namie, Kuriko," called a delicate voice. Namie nodded silently and walked forward, following two figures - one with icy blue hair and another with jet black hair. Another figure followed them - her sister, Kuriko.

"Do we have to leave?" Kuriko said out loud, looking intently at her father. Her cat ears flicked subconsciously. Kamaza turned around, and smiled sadly.

"Yes, we do," Kamaza answered, his voice sad. "We have to travel to the magician clan near Generosa, so we can help some of the trainees to learn faster." Even as he said those words, Kamaza's face was full of light sadness, as though he wished to turn away from the opportunity to move away.

The family moved to the shuttle, and they passed off their tickets. Namada led the way, moving towards their assigned seats. Kamaza followed next, and after him, Kuriko. Namie trailed in the back, her eyes downcast.

As the family settled into their seats, Namie sat down near a window. She looked out, her violet eyes full of unshed tears. "Goodbye," she whispered. Her breath formed foggy pools on the glass, and her fingers brushed the glass gently.

Iris was training with her old nunchakus in the town gym. Her brother worked there so, when it wasn't opened, she could go there to train. While she was kicking the air her brother came in, rushing towards her.

"Go take a bath and pack your stuff, we're leaving."

"WHAT? Why the rush? W-where are we going?"

"We're gonna see our parents. They just called."

"Oh! So we're going to Fiquerne!! Yay!! I was needing a tan..."

"No, Iris. We're going to Generosa."

"Generosa?"

The man turned his back to her and started to walk to the exit.

"Gawain, wait!! Why are our parents there?"

"Little sis..." he looked at her, frowning "Don't forget to bring your weapons. We're probably gonna need those."

Iris frowned, too, and went furious to their place, took a quick shower, packed and, soon after, they left to Generosa, to see what was wrong with their parents.

"Goodnight," came the gentle voice of Namada. Both her daughters replied, Namie's reply almost inaudible. She closed the door, and her footsteps trailed off into silence as she went into her and Kamaza's room.

Kuriko brushed her hair in the light of the lamp, her icy blue tresses shimmering. Namie instead sat on her bed, watching the snowstorm outside develop. Snowflakes were tossed in a frantic gale, flowing smoothly and rapidly. Cold winds howled --- the sound of a thousand banshees, drowning out the silence. Trees shook, their branches heavy with white snow.

Namie watched with bitter fascination.

Kuriko put down her brush on the bedside table dividing both of their beds, and she turned to her younger sister. A look of concern fell over her face. "Do you want me to turn off the light?"

Her younger sister nodded slowly, as though uncertain. Kuriko bent over and blew out the small flame dancing on the wick, and the room was bathed in an uneasy darkness. She then settled into her bed, drawing her heavy blankets over her. Before she fell asleep, she looked once more at her younger sister, making sure she was fine. In two minutes, the elder sibling was asleep.

Namie was quiet, and she watched the snowstorm roar outside. The wind rattled the window --- it shook it with a fierceness and determination that almost scared Namie. However, she kept watching blankly, her violet eyes empty.

In five minutes, Namie was cold. The dim fire of the lamp had warmed her slightly, but it wasn't enough. Now that there was none, her body felt chilly. She folded her hands in her lap, and intwined them in her long nightgown. There was no comfort there.

Even so, Namie kept watching the blizzard, her thoughts far from it. She was thinking of her life now --- how hard it was to outlast the cold, and the training with younger magicians. Her experience was much too high for them, and they looked up to her, more so for Kuriko. She didn't mind it, but all she wanted was to be back to her original hometown.

And to get away from the blasted cold.

Namie sighed, but as she looked up again, her eyes widened. Two figures came out of the forest surrounding the village. One was limping slightly, the other was looking, frightened, around. Both of them stumbled, and fell into the snow.

In a flash, Namie bolted out of the door, knowing that there was no hope in waking Kuriko --- she was a heavy sleeper. Her parents would need their sleep badly, she knew because they always worked the hardest. She would do this alone.

I awoke to the sound of my uncle "Chuck its lunch time, better get it now, or find your own later!" "yeah, yeah...." * I got out of bed and stretched out. I walked over to the chair and put on my pants and walked into the kitchen yawning. "*yawn* whats for lunch today?" My uncle tossed mea plate. "what we always have." * I gve a sigh and kinda slouthed over. "Were having fruit again?" "what you gonna complain!?" I took a step back waving my hands and kinda smiling of embarsment "waa, nonono just wish we'd eat something other than Pineapple and oranges every day." My uncle turned around and went back to slices oranges. "We all do, but there fiends have been weird this year." I set my plate on the table and sat down and leaned back, and put my hands behind my head looking at the ceiling. "I know what ya mean, I we normally get called out to take on some fiends...we've only been called twice this season." "Don't remind me." Uncle fianlly gets our food done and we start eating. I start to talk with my mouth full. "yoe mow, we kud ed voer tu Jeneruse." My aunt walked in and smakced me in the back of the head. "what did I say about talking with your mouth full?" I started to laugha little. "sorry about that, anyways *looks at uncle* we could go to generosa." "we could...but I really dont..." before my uncle can finish my uncle comes charging. "boy...or rarther the able one, Chuck, I got a job for you!" I stand up in an instant. "Yes finally!" "I need you to go to generosa and pick up some people, one is coming to see there family, the other is...well I cant tell you that." "Sweet, sounds goo to me." "Heres the funding for you ride there, and heres some so you can get food, and heres the rest for the ride back." "Hey thanks!" I run for the door and run out of it stoping half way the path to road and turn around and peep inside. "uh...how do I know waht they look like?" "there photos are in the envelope." "oh...I knew that!" So I take off the down the path to the docks. As Im runing I open the envelope and find exactly what my gramps said about the money. "Wow his is deffinately enough..he even gave me extra...sweet!...hey my boarding tickets already in here! grandpa you are to kind!" I approach teh dock. I met the dock dude, named Jeff. "Hey Chuck, where ya off to?" "I got a arran to run at generosa." "lucky! got your boarding pass?" "Heck yes I do!" I hand him my pass. "Everything checks out, see ya when you coem back!" "See ya later Jeff!" I gt on the boat, which surprisingly is like a cruise ship, only much smaller. I sit down in a reclinable lawn chair, and watch the sky. "wounder whats so important about this...oh crap I better see who tey look like." Takes out the envelope. "hmm...this girl has nunchucks..and shes got a brother..doesnt he own a gym somewhere?...I know I've seen him somewhere before...well whatever...and these people...woah catears!? Aesome I always wish i had some but...eh...so these are the people eh?...well I worry about it when I get to town." Kicks back and takes a short nap.

"I hate spaceships. Why did they went there?"

Iris was walking side by side with her older brother, who was looking at her, frowning.

"Do you know what kind of weather's now at Generosa?"

"Hum...no." answered Iris, as if it was the most obvious answer to give.

"...It's snowing."

"S-snow...?"

Iris stopped walking and stared at her naked tummy. Suddenly she kneeled down and started to look for something in her bag.

"HA!! Here it is!!" she said with a victorious tone, while taking a long fluffy cloak from the bag.
Her brother just shook his head and sighed in disagreement.

"You're just stup-"

Before he could finish the sentence she threw a nunchaku at his head, and he almost fell down with the hit.

"That's for being mean to me!!"

"ARE YOU F*CKING STUPID??!"

"YOU'RE THE ONLY STUPID AROUND HERE!!!"

They stopped arguing when they noticed that everyone was watching them, shooking their heads in disbelief.
The brothers blushed and, hiding their faces, ran out of the entrance to the Spaceship SS 43 Merry. They sat in their places, next to the window.

"So...what's wrong with them?"

"Our little sis...is gone."

"What-?"

She couldn't believe it. The six year old girl, who's name was Nanny, couldn't be missing. She was the sweet heart of their parents, overprotected and overspoiled with cuddling and gifts. Even so, she was really sweet and very cute, with her ginger hair up with three ponytails and huge green eyes. But...how could she be....missing?

"How?" asked Iris, after thinking of some possibilities like fiends or a meanie neighbour.

"It seems some people of our mother's side might've kidnapped her."

'Demons?' she thought "But why? I know they don't like mom very much for marrying an Elf but still..."

"They didn't tell me more, so we'll just know more when we get there."

Iris nodded. He was right, the only thing they could do now was wait for the space journey to end and to see their parents.

Namie and her whole family were at the living room, a fire crackling in the fireplace. Kamaza was talking to one of the travellers - a young man who had many gashes on his body. Kuriko and Namie were with their mother, preparing the sofas in the living room as beds. They placed the injured man - a redhead who was unconscious as soon as he stepped into the house.

Kamaza was talking quietly to the traveller, and Namie strained to listen to them. She only picked up garbled words, and resigned, she tried to wake up the weary traveller. Kuriko was trying to warm him up with hot towels, and was pressing them onto his frozen hands. Beside them, Namada clucked her tongue in concern.

"Tsk, tsk tsk... looks like frostbite... we might have to cut off his whole hand if this turns out to be bad," she was also padding a hot towel on the traveller's unconscious body.

Namie looked at her father again, and saw that his eyes were distant, and he spoke in a hushed tone. He didn't see her looking at him. The traveller Kamaza was talking to spoke loudly, adressing the whole family. Namada, Kuriko, and Namie looked up.

"I... I think you all should go to sleep," he said hoarsely. He lay down on another sofa, and closed his eyes. "We are... both... so tired..."

Obedient, Kamaza, Namada, Kuriko, and Namie went up the staircase. Kamaza stopped and called down in concern, "If you need anything, call us." There was a grunt of acknowledgement from the conscious travellers.

The two daughters went into their room, and both went to bed. For the whole night, Kamaza and Namada took turns checking on the guests for every two hours. Just when it was Namada's turn, she yawned and went downstairs. She looked up and let out a gasp of horror.

Both of the travellers were frozen dead.

Iris was woken up by Gawain, who shook her lightly. They were landing now, so they should get ready. She got out her fluffly cloak and he zipped his shirt, covering the naked chest. They both put on gloves and stared at the white flocks falling in the night.

They were walking fast across the snow, trying hard not to get frozen and running from fiends because they were feeling too much cold to stop and fight them. An hour later they finally found the inn their parents were staying and got in.

Inside a warm breath coming from the fireplace welcomed them. Gawain approached to the attendant and he gave them the number of the room. They climbed the stairs and knocked on the door.

A red haired woman opened the door and, with tears in her eyes, she hugged Gawain in a flash.

"Mom..." he said, while patting her back.

The demon woman let go of him to embrace her daughter, too.

"I'm so glad you're here...!"

Erius, the father, with his elfic blue eyes and brown hair, pulled Fannaly back inside and welcomed them with a soft hug. He had his ears down and his tail was being dragged by the body, as if it was lifeless.

"Mom, dad..." started Iris "Why are you here? And how did she disappeared?"

Their mother sat on the bed, but their father just stood beside her.

"We..." Fannaly started saying "...came here in a vacation, to show some snow to your sister. Then, while we were making a snowman..." tears began to fall from her eyes and her voice was shaken "...demon fiends came out of nowhere and attacked us!! My baby...!!"

Erius held her while she sobbed on his chest.

"Nanny just disappeared. Your mother is in no conditions to go and look for her, so Iris can stay and take care of her while me and Gawain go look for her."

"But-! I wanna search too!!"

"Iris, someone needs to look after mom..."

"Let dad take care of her!! You know I can fight!!"

Gawain look at Erius. He was weak at attacks and had low resistance, but his magic was very powerful. On the other hand, Iris was very strong both attacking and casting.

"Maybe you're right..."

"You two want to go together?"

The siblings nodded. Their father nodded back and gave them a key to their room.

After a good night of sleep, they prepared themselves to leave and search for Nanny.

I was awoke about 2 hours later. "yo chuck we've been forever." "wha!?" I jumped outta the chair and looked around. "I cant eblieve, I totally over slept, *looks at wathc* on no! They docked already! The nunchuck girl should be here by now oh no oh no what am I gonna do!!!!!!!!!!?" I ran around in circles for a second. And then I stopped. "...hey its...snow...ing....OMG I AHTE THE COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I took of running down the dock towards the INN, which was conviently by the space ship landed deal. I ran inside. I was still wearing my island cloths, my hawaiin over hirt, green short sleeved shirt, with my blue pants, and black boots. "I cant even believe Its that cold!" There were'nt many in the inn thankfully. I walked up to the inn keeper. "miss, has anyone that looks this came by?" She took the photo and looked and returned it. "why yes they passed just a little awhile ago heading south actually." "South! thanks!" I ran back outside and stopped and looked at the sky. "...its...sowing....I HATE THE COLD!!!!!!!!!" I took of running down the road looking inside houses when I saw the girl talking to what seeme dlike her parents. Before I coudl turn to knock on the door I slide into a house and feel unconcious in front of the door. "oh no..must talk..to girl...need...to wait..for..kitty...girl..to...." I fell fast asleep in the snow in front of the nunchucks girl's home. mumbling to myself in my sleep. "nah snow is bad...mom...dad...can we...go..to...for...could be fun..." I then fall into sleep and fall into a flash back. The town is in falmes and people are screaming everywhere. "mommy what are we gonna do!?" screams my sister. "I dont know hunny" "dad what are we gona do now, where uncle adn grandpa?" "i dont knwos on..son you stay here m and your mother wil fend them off!" My father and mother took off without saying a thing, I ducked into hiding, and try'd to get my suster to come voer to me, but she was picked up and taken off. I was scared and crying and fell asllep.

"Dad?" Namie asked, looking up from her steaming mug of hot chocolate. Kamaza turned to her. At the table, Kuriko and Namada stopped eating their breakfasts to look at either Kamaza or Namie. "Who were those people that came yesterday? What were they talking about? And... why did they die?"

Kamaza's smiling face turned into a frowning one, and he sat beside his daughter. He sighed, and then cast a look to Namada. For a while, Namada was unresponsive, then she looked up and nodded slowly. Kamaza turned to his daughters, who were looking at him expectantly.

"They were travelers," he began, biting his lip nervously, "And they were attacked by demons as they traveled. One of them possessed this... um... giniru, and as you know, they're fierce.

"Those travelers escaped, but they were so badly hurt that the frostbite infected them immediately. One of them died earlier, but the frostbite was so effective that the poisoned blood infected the whole body in several hours."

In silence, Namie was watching the marshmallows in her cup melt away. Kuriko was staring at her parents, horrified. Her hands were shaking, and glowing slightly. If Kuriko did not control her fear, then the cup would shatter.

"A small child? Kidnapped?" Namie asked, bundled in her snowclothes, her regular clothes covered in a big, blue coat. The person who was putting up the poster nodded, and then left, leaving behind footprints that were easily devoured by the snow.

Curious, Namie stepped up to the poster. She read the information quickly, and felt a small swelling of fear inside her. What if the demons had taken the little child? Not wanting to just stand in the sidelines, Namie walked towards the address indicated, hoping to help.

Of course, she brought her sister along, who came with her parents. They had the same idea, so they all went to the house, even if another duty still awaited them - training the soon-to-be-mages.

Iris yawned as her brother shook her in order to wake her up. She went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth, coming, later, out of it completely awake. She grabbed some black leather pants and a matching shirt and put them on, while her brother was in the bathroom. She undid her sleeping braid, brushed her dark flaming and curly hair and started to make the six braids she always had on.

"Why don't you leave your hair down?" asked Gawain, while leaving the bathroom.

"Because it might remind you of someone...And we don't want that, do we?" she said, putting the tiny ribbons on her braids.

He walked out of the room with no answer, slamming the door behind him. Iris sighed sadly, remembering the lost love of Gawain's life, who decided to leave him for a greater cause - marrying a rich old man with a sick mind and bad breath. He was crushed and never got over it.

After having breakfast, they put on their jackets and got out of the inn, walking slowly across the not so cold snow.

Iris, who was looking at the sky, tripped on something on the ground and fell down, muttering curses at whatever made her fall.

"...Looks like a body." her brother stated.

"Huh?"

She looked down. An almost frozen man was lying under her, uncouncious.

When they were to get him inside, four people, two adults and two girls, were approaching them, ready to help.

Iris gasped.

"Those girls are kittens!!"

Forgetting the frozen guy, she held Namie and her sister.

"Soooo cute, aren't they?"

*insert the song tricky* "Ouch!!!!" *I stood up scratching my head* "Owww I feel like Ive crushed by some type of....person and know my ribs hurt...and*looks at the sky* am I still outside...is it still snowing!?.....IM....im out of energy thats for sure...and I still have to find those people...the nunchucke girl...the kitty people...and Im starving to boot...my day just gets worse, and..." I looked up to see what was going on and I saw the nunchuck girl and her brother, and the kitty people aproaching. "dude I have the best luck ever! Excuse me! But i have a letter saying Im sapposed to coem get you, and those people over there...and...DID YOU STEP ON ME!?"

"Soooo cute, aren't they?"

Namie struggled to get out of the strange girl's fierce hug - it was choking her badly - but Kuriko was laughing and hugging her back. "Excuse me..." she gasped out, "Can I get a little air?" For a while, her request was ignored, as her parents and the guy that came in earlier laughed openly at the girl squeezing them. Namie was ready to fall into unconsciousness when the red-headed girl let go.

Kuriko was laughing and on her feet, while Namie was gasping for breath. "What's your name?" asked Kuriko, her kitty ears flicking in natural curiousity. Namie stood up and dusted herself off, then looked at the girl.

"Iris," she replied, smiling. "Yours?"

"Namie," Namie replied, pointing to herself, "And this is my elder sister, Kuriko." She pointed to her elder sister, who waved lightly. Iris smiled warmly to both of them, but then a puzzled face appeared on her face.

"Why are you guys here, by the way?"

Behind them, Kamaza and Namada looked at each other and stepped forward, introducing themselves to Iris and Gawain, who also introduced himself. The three of them (meaning Iris, Namie, and Kuriko) went to place the poor frozen man in a warm place, and they tried to warm him up. Instead, he acted like he was in a coma, and the three left, leaving him wrapped in a heavy blanket near a blazing fire.

Kuriko and Namie hadn't told Iris that he would probably be dead when they returned.

After some more discussions, with Gawain showing Kamaza and Namada a picture of Nanny, they left the house. Kuriko and Namie were chatting with Iris, who had her nunchakus slung across her shoulders.

"DID YOU JUST STEP ON ME?!?" Namie jolted awake by the sound, and looked to the front, where Gawain was looking at a person who had just fallen in surprise. Gawain was apologizing politely, and the person who fell just nodded, trying to rub off the imprint of a boot from his hand. The fallen person stood up, looked around, and saw Namie, Kuriko and Iris.

"eh no worries, although I must say...I never get stepped on at the island...but thena gain..it DOESNT KNOW THERE ETIHER!!!!!!!!!!!" iris, her brother and the others just looked at him blnakely.

Iris jumped up and said. "your the guy that triped me!?"
"no your the one that steped on me!"
"why your sleeping in tehr oad!?"
"sleeping!? I...ran..into..a..pole...v.v;"
"a pole!?"
"yeah....i waas actually looking for you, and those people voer there...ARE THOSE CAT EARS!?" I ran and over and examined namie. "woah...totally cool." I started to poke them and watch them flick. "lol thats awsome...O.O..."
I just realize diw as beign mysef around new people I quikly jumped back coughed and apologized. "...sorry about that." ahem "anyways My anme is chuck, who are you guys?"
They all went around introducing each other.

"well Im chuck and Im ehre tog et you guys fro some random reason...atually...my grandpa needs to talk to nunchuk...Iris about a missing kid or soemthing, and namine and ehr family about something else. I really wsnt given the details. So, do you guys wanna go back to teh island? everythig is paid for already?"

Namie's left eye dangerously twitched as Chuck tapped them. Kuriko looked at her, one of her delicate eyebrows lifted, bemused. Namie was ready to ask him to stop, but then he did. He jumped away, and he introduced himself. Everyone did too, but they were still wondering what he was doing here.

After a long explanation, Kamaza stepped forward and frowned. "I'm not sure yet," he said. "We still have duties to do here, and we still need to help Iris and Gawain find their little sister. Um... Mammy... Nancy... what was it?"

"Nanny," Iris chirped.

Kamaza nodded his thanks. He turned to Chuck. "And... malicious demons have been attacking some towns, and the mage clan back in Yukaro needed us to train some of the trainee mages."

Chuck nodded.

Namie watched as her father told Chuck what was going on, and as her mother added in other duties they still needed to accomplish - like about the traveler still in Iris' and Gawain's house.

They seem to forget that he is probably dead by now, Namie thought bitterly. She felt cold at standing out here, so she conjured a fireball around her fingertips. Kuriko caught her eye, and she conjured one as well. This time, she handed it to Iris, asking her if she was cold. Iris accepted it, and watched it with fascination.

"Then will you come after all of that? My grandfather really needs to talk to you guys, and he was really urgent about it."

Kamaza thought for a while, his brow furrowing in concentration. He turned to Chuck. "I would... but... who is your grandfather?"

I looked at the kamaza for abit, shruged and started the story. "Grandpa was an ex-soilder mage, mastered in the art of the sword, but also mastered in magic. He quit being a soilder after being one for about 45 years. He resides on the island near here, who lives with my uncle, and aunt, and me. I was leaving and he mutered something about "i hope my friend is still ok" I think he might have been referring to your and your family but I am not sure. Plus my grandpa knows somehting about a missing child, who was stolen by demons and taken. he didnt give me much detail."

Kamaza looked puzzeled for a moment and shruged. "very well, but we have things we must attend to first." I nodded and asked about it. Kamaza didnt seem to happy with me for asking but told me anyways. "we are here to train soon-to-be-mages. we are also helping iris and her brother with finding their missing sister." I nodded. "I see sounds bad...* i looked at the sky* whats happening with the worlds..." Kamaza looked at me. "what do you mean the worlds?" "oh something grandpa said...that the worlds are changing and some force is intertwined witht he purpose of each." Kamaza didnt seemt o like what I was saying so i quit talking about, and i moved over to Iris. "so your sister is missing?" she turned to me and seemed very sad. "yes I havent seen her in a long time, and shes been kidnapped. im very worried about her." Her older brother Gawain looked at me. "we dont know why..but we are going to find her." I put my hands behind my head. "going to tak eon a hoard demons..jsut the two of you?" "well...yes...witht ehir help if they are willing." Gawain pointed to kamaza and his family. I looked over an then back. "well...I havent had work in forever, and Im relativly ankious to take on demons again...mind if I come along." Gawain didnt seem impressed. "I dont know what can you do?" "I am the youngest graduate of the warrior clan. I have been pushed to the limits and learned the rare art of duel wielding." Iris trying to be funny asked what that ment. I got into clan stance. "we are the warrior clan, we have been trained in the art of swordsman ship, and thus mastered the way of the sword. complete with our many skills, we are fast, strong, an well defensed, and can be excelent members to any part. I am graduate chuck, trained in the art of duel wielding. I am quicker than most of the other warrios, and can do much more damage. Being able to duel wield, leaves my defences open a little more, but with being faster it slightly makes up for it." everyones mouths dropped open and seemed realitly impressed. Kamaza sratched his head. "wow you are not at all what I thought of you...my apologizes." I smiled and ogt outta stance. "no worries!" Gawain seemed impressed but didnt say anything about it. I looked at them again. "well, how about it, mind if I tag along?"

"Hum...I don't know..." said Iris, in a mocking way "Brother..."

They both winked at each other and started to push the sofas, chairs and tables to the walls, clearing the room. Iris took out her coat, grabbed her nunchakus, putting one over the shoulder and the other one in her hip, and grinned at Chuck.

"Let's test you, shall we?"

She moved her nunchakus in front of his amazed face and stood in her fighting pose.
Gawain just watched emotionless with his arms crossed. Kamasa and his wife took their daughters out of the fighting area to a safer one.

"Now, come."

I kidna stepped back, "wha?!...well alright, looks like I dont have achoice here now do I?" Gets into idle stand with his lef thand on his hip and reaches behind and him draws the buster sword in his right hand, steps baclk wtih his right leg, and has his left leg in front of him, with the buster sword in his right looking at iris. "lets see what you can do." Iris whips the nunchukes towards chuck, and he reflects the attack out of the way with his sword, running in a forward motion he takes a slight swing at Iris, she easily dodges out of the way, she attacks again aiming for my legs when I jump over it and counter with a hit of left hand to her shoulder. Knocking her back a bit, she attempts another swing, me being to cocky I wasnt paying attention and get smacked right in the face sending me stumbling back a bit. "woohooo! shove that sword wielder!" "der...i wont elt my guard again." I run towards Iris and shes attacks I do a front fliup over her attack landing behind her kicking her weapon of her hand, and placing my sword behind her head. "hate to break it to you...but your outta options at the moment ^^"

Namie moved to the side, and watched the battle with a careful eye. Iris and Chuck began fighting, and the first blows were parried. Both were careful and precise, but it wasn't long before Chuck received the upper hand. As he placed the blade to her neck, Iris quickly sweep kicked his feet, and he fell.

She moved swiftly to retrieve her weapon, as Chuck got up again. Then they set off fighting, and Namie began to wonder when it was going to stop... both seemed very well-trained...

"your a lot better than I thought." "its not good to udnwer estimate your oppent!" "heh thats true, cant let a pretty girl mes sup my groove." She stepped outta battle stance. "pretty girl?" I shethed my sword and nodded. "mhmm. You sound surprised?" "...." Me forgetting I was in abttle, she wiped her nunchucks at me and I guarded wit m left hand, her nunchucks wrapped around my arm, and she started pulling me towards her. "der...looks more trouble for me." Iris trying to funny said" Look I caught a over sized fish!" I styarted to chuckle. "well time for this fish to get away" I grabbed the chaing with my right hand, and used my left and right arm you pick her and her weapon up and send them across the room. Ipurposly aimed for a couch so I wouldn't send her into a wall. As she hit the couch she looked at me puzzled and then her nunchucke hit her in the face. "owww....*falls voer*" "oh no" I run over to her to see if shes ok. Gawain just laughs. "I think you over did it!" "I think so to!" Namine was just stareing from across the room. She seemed to be watching and waiting. "Iris are you ok!?" I put mya rm under her head lifting it up to see if she was ok. "..oh...I think you over did it*she chuckled and fell abck to sleep*" "OH man, I did it again!"

Her nose and forehead hurted like hell.

'Damn...they really hurt...' she thought. Chuck got near her and held her head with a worried face.

"Oh..I think I overdid it..." she chuckled and fainted.

"Oh man, I did it again!" he said, right before feeling a huge pain on his head. Gawain had approached him silently and was giving him a 'noogie treatment'.

"What do you think you're doing with my sis?" he said calmly, still hitting Chuck's head.

"OUCH!!! What was that for?! I'm just worried with her!!"

"Never hold my little sis without my permission." He pushed him lightly to the side and held her up, carrying her upstairs. He looked over at the kitten girls and tried to remember one of the girls name.

"Hum...Namie?"

Her ears twitched.

"Could you come too? Your magic might help."

I fell the ground. "oww..." he heard gawaine say "hey namie will you come help to?" I stood up. "Oh come on, I didnt do it on purpose! Wait for me!" I ran up to them as we all walked up stairs. Gawaine layed Iris down onto a bed. "namie do you know healing arts?" "um..yes." "do you think..." right in the middle I ran up the stairs. "Could you use them on Iris for me?" Gawain seemed annoyed that I interrupted him. "Excuse me!?" He got up in my face. "First you knock out my sister, theny uo hold her, and now you want to heal her?!" "uh...is that bad...cause I didnt mean to knock ehr out, and I was just worried about her." "ugh..your hopeless." He punched my shoulder, and me being slightly tired, and worried I was still standing on the edge of the stairs, adn when he punched my chest I fel backwards. "Oh nio!!!!!!!!!! ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I went tumbling down the stairs backwards and ran into a wall at the bottom of the stiars. "uhh...Ill ...get...you..." still exhausted and hungry from his trip and being stepped on, and then having tofight, I was to tired to even try to stay awake. I also fell uncounious and the last thing I heard was. "god dang it, Namie, will you heal the idiot to." My closed and I fell into another dream. It was of me as a kid after my town had been attacked and burned. The only thing I had on me was the sword my farther made. A cool wooden sword(loooked like the master sword from zelda) Having it sheathed on my bak I was walking down a road. The town being attack when I was 6 or 8 I now being 10 having lived on my own 2 years I trained myself in m y own sword skills. I was walking down the path towards a village. I could see it but it was still about 5 miles. I was walking down a dirth path and with every step a little dust would kid up. I continued to walk and after a while a few fiends attacked. I wasnt worried about a couple of Dingos so I took them down one at a time.(as kid I only used one sword and a shiled. Shield on my left arm, sword in right) I blocked the bingos attakcs with my shield and hit them hard between the eyes with my sword. They feel from the blow. I decided I was hungry and made a fire and started eating some dingo burgers.(one of my fav things as a child..keep i mind we are still in a flash back or...dream..yeah a dream) As I was eating a portal opened in space and time and a huge like creature attacked me. He was giant, golden, two arms, 4 legs, ands ome weird things. I didnt stand a chance wtih one hit I was knocked out and sent flying and skidding about 25 feet. The last thing I saw was another portal opening and me seeing my grandfather. I jumped outta the bed(being awake now) "Grandpa!" I looked around to find myself and Iris, she was across the room resting. I st up in my bed just sitting there thinking about that dream. "Ive been having that dream a lot lately.." Next thing I knew I got hit in the head with some bread. I looked up. I waved. "Hey Gawain!" "Hey kid...you really did a number on my sister, you wherent kidding where you, about all that warrior stuff?" "No I wasnt." He sat down in a chair next to my bed. "Take it easy next time will ya." "yeah...IM really sorry about that..." Iris mumbled something in her sleep, me and gawain both umped to her side. Gawain looked at me. "..dont touch her." "oh yeah!" I put my hand on hers. She woke up to see me do this, and jsut layed there as Gawain said. "What did I say warrior boy!" The window behind me was oddly open and he pushed me through it. "ahhh!!!!!!!!!" I landed outside ina snow bank. Gawain looked outside. "Now cool down lover boy!" I stood up. "Lover boy!??..." Gawain closed the window and waled away from it. I looked at where I was and what I was still wearing. By this time Iris had looked out the window to see what I ws doing. "....its...snwoing...I HATE THE COLD!!!!!!!!!" I took off for the door runing over snow and trying not to freeze to death. Iris just kinda laughed and sat back down in bed. She heard me come barling back inside. "I cant even believe you chucked me out a window!" "I didnt chuck you, I nudged you out a window." "Nudged!? That was a full out push!" Iris was laughing at this. "Well if you wouldnt have been all over my sister!" "All over!? I held her hand!" "After I todl you not to!" "SO!" "Thats it lover boy right ehre, right now!" I jokingly got into a bouncing around zell style stance. "Alright lets do it!" Namie walke din as this ws happening. "Please you two can you stop it." we both looked over and siad. "HE STARTED IT!" Iris could hear us and was still laughing innocently at all of this. She then heard us say, at the same time. "MY FAULT! ITS YOR FAULT!!! ITS NOT MY FAULT ITS YOURS!!!!" Namie was tired of listening to sthis and casted sleep on us. I was actually paying attention to my sarroundings this time and jumped behind a couch. Gawain fell fast asleep. Namie looked at me. "That ws really quick, jsut dont wkae him, Id like soem piece and quiet." "sure no problem!" "coudl you go check on Iris for me?" Iris was still listening. "Heck yes I will!" She laughed and decided to pretend to be sleeping. I wlked up the stairs quietly just incase she was sleeping. I walked over to her bed and knlet down. "..she looks so peaceful when shes asleep." * moved her from her eyes behind her ears. "Man Im really sorry...I didnt mean for this to happen." I grabbed her hand and out my face into the bed. "OH please be k and please forgive me!" She sat up and smiled. "ok! ^^" I jumped bakc getting the crap scared out of me. "WAAA!!!! ...your awake!?" "mhmm!" "ARE YOU OK!?" I gave her a big hug, examining her forhead to make sure she was ok. "Yes yes Im fine." I sat down on teh ground. "Pheww....thats good I was worried for a second.

"I'm sorry for my brother, he's very territorial. He's got demon instincts, that's why he's not very kind with men. But for girls...he acts a little different." She smiled at him again and rubbed her eye.

"I'm gonna go get my brother!! Be right here!!"

Iris ran down the stairs, walked over to her older brother and grabbed his coat to drag him up the stairs. Chuck helped her laying him on the bed and she kissed his forehead.

"Nighty-night, bro..." she looked over to Chuck "Wanna eat something?"

He nodded happily by the thought of food. They went downstairs to the dinning room and made their order.

While that happened, in a underground made of dark stone and with rusted cages, a little girl had her leg chained to the wall, sitting on the cold ground, crying. She was hugging her fluffy tail, hoping it would be her father's. She wanted her mom and dad back, but all that was there were mice and the guards, huge fin creatures with angel wings. It's bodies didn't have skin and the flesh looked rutted. It's dog heads had an evil look...That place was scary for an adult, imagine a child...

"Mommy...daddy..."

"ALRIGHT!!!!!!" I did a cartwheel into the kitchen. I was super excited to finally getting to eat something! "Man I ams tarved! What should we make?" "wel...i dont know what do you want to make?" "IM totally up..here you wit out ehre and itll be done in a hour!." He put Iris out of the kitchen, she sat tehre for a while talking to Namie, and checke don her brother fom time to time. After about an hour. "Lunch is ready to go! Come on in!" As Namie and Iris walked in the tables and coutners were lined with pizzas, tacos, barritos, tamels, donuts, sandwiches, cakes, some demon snacks, cupcakes, cookies, milk, waffles, orange juice. Iris mouth dropped open. "You made all of this!?" I proudly got into a victory pose. "Yeah when your a warrior you gotta know how to cook!" Namie and Iris where amazed buy how much I made. "Dont be shy dig in!" I ran around the kitchen in waht felt like 5 seconds, I filled my plate with 1 pizza, 8 tacos, 6 tamels, 2 cookies, 2 cup cakes, 4 waffles, and a cup of orange juice. I went into the main room where the tabel and w as starting ot eat. The girls decided to dish up, and as they walked outta the kitche my plate was empty. Iris and Namie looked at me stragnly. I drank the rest of my juice. "phew." Iris looked at me. "full?" "NO way!" I ran back into the kitchen and came back a few seconds later with the samea mount of food. "Im jsut getting started!" The girsl sat down and ate with me, and after they had finished there one plate, and them ebing full, I had gone through 5 plates of teh same thing. After the 5th I put my plate away and layed down on the couch. "Now IM full." They looked at me, and then went into the kitche to do the dishes. Iris turnd the sink on. "Can you believe how good that was!" She looked over. "Can you believe at how much he eats, and look at him, thin as a rail, and hes really strong." Iris laughed. "I bet under those bagy cloth hes a uberly skinny guy, whos pretty well built." Namie sighed. "maybe..i dont wanna find out though." the girls ahd been doin the dishes for an hour, I walked into the kitchen. "ehy girls." "hey chuck." Iris looked at me. "Whats up?" "whens dinner?" Iris and namies mouths dropped open. Iris looked at me. "We just ate an hour ago?" "I know but im starving."

Iris looked at him with disbelief.

"You're hungry again?"

"Yup?"

"Are you really human?"

"Huh-huh."

"Then where did all the food you ate go?"

"I think..." started Namie "it becomes energy. That's why he's hyper active."

Chuck smiled sheepishly and rubbed his head in the back. Iris just walked over to the fridge to check on the food they had left.

"Not much..."

Chuck, who was watching Iris, felt a huge and familiar pain on the head.

"STOP IT, GAWAIN!!"

"Then quit staring."

He walked over to Namie.

"Thanks for the nap." he poked her nose gently and winked with a grin on his face. then he left, but only after giving another 'noogie treatment' to Chuck.

I ducked and grabbed my head. "what is it with you and smashing in my brain!!!!!!!" Dawain wlaked by. "If you wnt lok at my sister I wouldnt." "if your sister wasnt...." I realized she was in ther oom so i ran outta the room with gawain and wishpered in his ear. "if your sister wasnt hot and friendly and nice, I woldnt be." "WHAT'D YOU SAY!!!!!!!!!" Gawain pikced me up and chucked me outside and locked the door. I started bainging on the door, and ran over to the window putting on a scene of me being eatin by ice monsters. Gawain looke din amazment, and Iris was laughing but asked her brother. "whyd you do that?" "he siad you where hot." "He did?" "dont get any ideas..." I made a snow flan and shoved it in my face adn started scrweaming saying "Help im being eatin by flan ahhhh noo blahh!!!!!" And fell to the ground. Gawain looked at Iris. "you wouldnt wnt to be stuck with someone like that." Namie was laughing at my show, and how I was beating myself up0 wtih snow. Iris justwatched at all the enger I had built up from lunch. I realiazed I was in a now bank. "...im./.outside...OMG I HATE THE SNOW!!!!!!!!!! LET ME IN!!!!!!!!!!!!...plese???"

Iris and Gawain put on their jackets ang gloves and went outside.

"Are you gonna let me in?" He asked Iris with puppy eyes and a cute smile. She smiled back at him and kneeled down, grabbing some snow.

"Only if you beat us..."

"Beat y-?" He couldn't finish the sentence because a huge ball of snow hit him on the head. When he looked back at Gawain Iris threw him another.

He ran from them and, grabbing some snow too, started to threw it at them. They were laughing and really enjoying themselves, despite the cold.

"Humph, kids..." muttered Namie, while watching from the window.

I make a giant snow fort in like four seconds. I made a million snow balls, despite hating the cold, now was not the time to whine. I looked over the wll to see them huck like eighty snow balls at me. I hid behind teh wall laughing. Then With my awesome duel wileding sklls, i threw a million snow balls per second...unfortunatly i only had a million so... i hit iris and gawain with a few of them but the rest hit the window that that namie was watching out of, I scared her nd she jumped back away from the window. Iris looked at men I instantly amde more snow balls. Ignroing Iris casue i didnt want to hit her, so i wiped them all at gawains face as he utrned around, nailing him wtih everyone he fell over! "Ha your out!!!!!!!!" I jumped out from behind my fort jsut tog et nailed in the face by Iris. "And your out. I win!" I was on my back looking at the skyas Iris looked down at me. I smiled and said. "...owned."

Iris stretched her arms so he could get up. He took her hands but, instead of getting up, he pulled her down and she fell on top of him. She blushed a bit and smile sheepishly.

"W-what are you doing?"

Suddenly her brother got out of the snow, making it fly everywhere and snatched Iris from Chuck arms.

"WTF DO U THINK UR DOIN??!! NEVA EVA TOUCH MY LITTLE SIS!!!"

Gawain jumped to a balcony on the third floor and closed the window behind him.

"Careful with that Chuck! We don't know him and he might be dangerous!!"

"But he seems nice..."

"He's strong and he hurt you. I don't care if he didn't mean it, what I know is that I don't trust him!!"

Iris walked out of the room and went all the way down, looking for Namie.

"Namie, please, could you put my brother under the sleep charm? He's really furious with Chuck..."

"Yeah, I wonder why..." she said sarcastically "Okay, I'll do it."

While she went upstairs Iris opened the front door and smiled at Chuck.

"You can come in, now!!"

As she opened the door I had started singing my favorite childhood sotry which teh theme song i remember, So I side stepped iside singing tiny toons. "Thank you!" My pocket rang for a sec. "woah email!" I set my pocket email deal on the ground andopened the email. "eamil open,oh its from john." It read. Hey there ChuQ I got this funny song for you to listen to, its called teh rubber ducky techno demon remix, its relly funny! "Email play the movie..or song?" I looked at Iris chekc this out John always sends me cool stuff." The song was about someone singing about a rubber ducky in demon language, it was so funny. I started dancing and doing the robot and waht not to the song. "Man IM hyper" Iris wathced as chuck start dancing and doing flips and spining and moon wlking to techno demox music. "you really like music huh?" "mhmm as long its cool I dont care waht kinda music it is, and I only dance around I feel comfortable with." The song finally finished and I sat donw on the couch. "oh wahta day...fall asleep on a boat, get stepped on, accidently beat up a girl, get thrown out a window, hit in the face withs now balls, then get yelled at by your brother." "yeah Im sorry about taht." :now orries...i,l just sing mthe song my grandpa taught when I m feeling down." I sang for a little while, and then decided to go for a walk. I went to the door and opened it. "where are you going?" "*shrugs* eh I think im gonna go for a walk, your brother doesnt seemt o like me ehre, so I think im gonna go find a place to crash..like the Inn..or something...Ill talk toy ou guys later..." I walked out the door and shut it quietly. Gawain came down stairs. "Whered that kid go!?" Iris looked sad and said. "He jsut elft..." "Good!!!!!!!" He turned around and wlaked back upstairs. Namie looked at Iris. "Are you ok?" "..eh i dont know."

Iris frowned and took a decision.

"I don't care what he says, I don't think he's bad." She followed him and threw him her nunchakus.

"Come back here imediatly!!" she yelled at him, grinning.

Iris' nunchuckes wrapped my neck as she told me to come abck ehre. Me being chocked mya rms where waving in front of me as I druged back wards "kljaskljhsldfhlsdhflshfsdfkjfksdjfklsjfklsjgklsdhgklshgk ahhh!!!!!" I everntually hit the ground dazed and out of breath. "im here now?"

"Yes and you're not leaving!! Namie went to put a sleeping charm on my bro, so its okay meanwhile."

She closed the door to prevent cold coming inside and rubbed her arms, shivering. She got near the fireplace and sat there.

"It feels nice this warmth..."

She started to undo her braids, one by one, and her curly dark red hair fell on her shoulders and back. She ran her fingers through it and sighed. Iris looked back and, smiling, invited Chuck to sat next to her. When he did she started playing with a strand of hair.

"What if we both went to see your grandfather, and my brother stayed to look for my sis?"

I sat next to Iris in my normal sitting stance right leg bent towards the left the left one bent up with my left arm resting on the knee. "well I guess we could, he wants to talk tyo you about a missing child or something, and to Namie about something else. So I guess itd be ok...except when we came back your brother would be the hell outta me -.-" Iris was till playign one strand of her looking at me now. "I think itll be ok, I bet if i ask namie shed keep him under sleep the whole time we were gone." "well....I sappose but I dont really like asking peple I barely know to do thigns for me." Iris her hands on my should and rested her head on her hands. "Thats why ill ask!" She got up to go ask Namie. I sat tehe looking tat the fire thinking to myself. (I wounder what grandpa knows about thsi missing child...I wounder when ill actaully get to sue taht only speel I know...he said never use it unless its a uber emergency...)

Iris suddenly stopped. She felt a huge shiver on her spine and looked through the window. A huge fiend with white strands of fur falling over its three eyes and by its sides, sharp fangs and with two tongues was watching her, fuming. She quickly grabbed her nunchakus and ran outside.

"Hey, where are you going?!" asked Chuck as he got up and followed her.

The fiend had six legs, like a spider, and was making a weird noise with he tongues. Iris was on her fighting pose, ready to attack. She threw a ball of snow to the fiends eyes and attacked it. It cried in pain and crawled in her direction.

*inserts ffx boss*The spider was unning right for her, and shew as still a little wounded from the first battle. "Iris look out!' I ran infront of her with my buster sword in hand I jumped in front of the spiders attack in guard postion and was hit to the side and hit a building. This gave Iris enough time to wipe her nunchukes at the spiders eye. The spider cried in pain, and was able to see again. He targeted Iris. I waws to bsuy getting up to realize what was happening. She was wrapped in a spiders web. "Chuck!!!!' I instantly got up and turned around. "Iris!" Something was wrong with me my body had a pent up rage and it was unleasghed I let out a roar and creamed. I was glowing my tradional color, green, my hair seemed to grow and was longer than normal, and my buster sword changed intoa different weapon. I felt unstopable without even thinking I ran to Iris and slashed the web off her. I instantly turned to the spider who tried to web me I did a side jump. Looked at the monster and jump in the air. I charged for a second..."Try and dealw tih this!" I siad in a deeper voice then normal. "Sword rain!" I swung the buster sword and thousands of blandes came from my swords raning down onto the fiends eyes and torso. I fell to the ground and got itno guard position infront of Iris. The spider screamed in pain and ran at me for on last attck, he lunged his fangs at me biting my sword. He was trying to jerk me outta the way, he seemed to want to get to IRis more tahn anything. I relaesed teh buster sword and drew the brotherhood. he tossed my other sword I jumped in the air with the brotherhood in and fell from the sky laing on the spiders eyes I stabbed teh sword in his eyes hitting the brain inside. teh spider stoped all movement, and dropped to the ground. He bursted into many pyre flies and disappeared. I turned back to noraml color, and everything wa the same. I shethed my swords, and looked at Iris. "..you ok?" "you..you jsut went into trance?" "trance?" "yes its where when someone you are emotionaly atatched is in a life or death situation, you get a pent up anger inside and tis so great that its unleashed, you noramlly must take a series of hits before it takes effect but in this case you jsut went right to it."

Gawain was watching from the balcony, unnoticed by the fighters. namie was beside him, with her mouth half opened with what she saw. He put his hand under her chin and made her close her mouth. She glared at him, frowning.

"You're really cute with that angry look..." He grinned at her angered face and walked inside. He took off his jacket and unzipped his shirt. She was trying not to look at him, and was blushing hard while he undressed.

"W-what are you doing?!" she asked when he took his shirt off.

"Preparing myself to go to sleep. You're gonna use that charm, right?" she nodded and he smirked "Then I should get ready to sleep, don't you think?"

He took off his boots and laid down, with his hands under his head. She used her sleeping charm and he closed his eyes. He was sleeping.

Iris was still outside, still stunned with Chucks power.

Just to be cool I unsheathed the buster sword and did one of victory poses and spun it around in front of and then shethed it. I looked at Iris, and I saw Gawain in the balcony. He stepped away after closing namies jaw. I looked abck down at Iris. She was still amazed at what jsut happened, and I looked around seeing all of the towns look amazed, and scared at the power that was jsut uleashed. I walked over to Iris. "hey dont think of me any different, than you have been." I put my arm around her. "its cold out ehre you should put on your jacket." We wlked back isndiet o get her winter gear. She offered me her brothers but i said, and we headed for the boat. We walked to the boat, some people thanking me on the way there, and tohers jsut stareing. Iris looked at them. "Stop stareing hes jsut a regular guy!" I looked there was john. "hey john!" "hey dude, saw you hit trance for teh 2nd time." "yeah...lets not bring up time one ok..." "yeah no prob, i understand. got your passes." "Of coruse!" I gave him our passes and we boarded the boat. I went back to the chair I was sitting in the first time we came. Iris sat there looking at me. "..." "Hey there are plenty of thigns to do on the ship, IM kinda tired right now though, so IM gonna chill for a sec." She nodded and got up, adnw as found John. "Well hi there, your the girl traveling with Chuck arnt you?" "yes, um..hes gone ito trance before." "yeah...about 2 years ago..." It cuts into a flash abck. It was back when we all where in swords class, his gf rachel was out picking flowers for tehir wdding, on our island you only need to be 14 till your allowed to marry. Chuck loved rachel with all his heart, and so did she to him. ONe day during class Chuck was sparing with Zack, and a giant golden fiend attacked the flower patch were rachel was. The creature attacked rachel and sent her flying through a brick wall. chuck spazed and turned green and went crazy, and took of at the monster with both fo his swords screaming. "HOW DARE YOU, YOUR FIGHT IS WITH ME!" He bum rushed teh fiend many tiems over and voer, until it jsut disappeared. He was still int rance and unfortuanly rachel had died. He cried out witha great pain and fled the camp in search of the beast, he searched for 7 weeks never returning back to the town. Then one day he came back. He was tired, wounded, and abrly had the cloths on his back, He drug himself into town, and almsot died. If it wasnt for his grandfathers awesome amgic, chuck may not be here now.
