Title: Political Correctness?
Description: Something that happened recently

Sefie - March 13, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Mkay, Friday a man incarserated for rape and murder was on his way into court when he assaulted his one female guard, stole her gun and made a run for it(He ended up a 5 minute drive from my house, MAJOR scary).
The man wasn't handcuffed because it could be "humiliating" and because of Political Correctness a small, female guard was left alone to guard him. A talk show brought up the point that these two factors should never have happened. This man should have been cuffed and chained, but wasn't to avoid embarassing him. He SHOULD have had two large MALE guards on him, but to avoid being sexist one small woman was left guarding him.
Three people lost their lives so someone could be Politically Correct, what do you guys think of this?

I said it once in another thread and I'll say it again in this thread.

And I thought people couldn't get any more idiotic!

Uhm... if they didn't handcuff the guy in the first place, it could mean that they're already dismissing the fact that he's guilty of a crime, while he could be really guilty of a crime!
A crime has been committed, so they should've taken caution. Every case should have every person involved take caution to avoid further problems. Every suspect should be placed under careful watch and authority until the court decides on the verdict.

But they didn't want to embarass the poor sweet dear *Rolls eyes*

They kinda do the same here. Last news was about this guy that was being interrogated, he asked to go to the bathroom and jumped outta the window. It ended when a police man shot him. Deadly.

Not that I pity him, but if he had handcuffs he wouldn't run away and would still be alive. Oh, well...

The hell with embarrassing people. It's a case. People should not get carried away with emotions whether it can embarrass people or not.
