Cloud x Aerith > Evidence against Cloud and Tifa > Cloud's Resolution

Title: Cloud's Resolution
Description: ...will Square make Tifa a part of it?

At the end of FF7, Cloud clearly has a lot of unresolved issues. That's why he "left the hero's life" and lived on his own for two years. He didn't cling to Tifa and it seems that in AC, they've grown apart. There's an emotional rift between them. There had always been an emotional gap and it grew smaller during FF7...but now it's even wider.
And despite this Clotis think that in AC, Cloud will resolve all his issues and waltz happily back into Tifa's arms. I don't know about that. It would be a very cheap and disappointing way to end what Squaresoft calls "Cloud's Story". I expect something much deeper from Nomura and Co.

So do I. I have a feeling Square is going to make it way more complicated than everyone expects. It's kinda sad how "fans" think so low of Square to expect them to come up with a half-@$$ed ending that makes no sense when compared to all the hints Square took so much time putting into the game.

And aren't CloTi's the ones hating fairy tale endings? Why are they fighting so hard against one for Cloud and Aeris while they expect one for Cloud and Tifa? Hypocrites.

Cloud's gonna end up single. *Waves single flag*

I'm glad to hear you say that. There's a Cloti at AC.net right now trying to claim that "a close bond of trust" was formed between Cloud and Tifa during the Lifestream Event and the Highwind scene. I keep trying to remind him that it's only according to his interpretation of the game.

I mean, the only scene of trust seen in the AC film festivals has been between Cloud and Aerith. Cloud speaks of his guilt and forgiveness to Aerith, and Aerith says that she never blamed him because all that mattered was that he came for her. Meanwhile, Cloud's not telling Tifa where he lives, nor telling her that he has Geostigma, and he's letting the answering machine catch her phone calls. Where do we see trust?

I agree... I expect much more from Nomura and co. than simply to see Cloud resolve his guilt and go flying into Tifa's arms. The Cloti's say it would be cheesy for Aerith to get resurrected, but then they want Aerith to tell Cloud that he's forgiven and to go enjoy life with Tifa. Talk about cheesy. <_<

aah, what does Cloud do to make the CloTis think he likes Tifa... well yeah you're right, they DID grow apart. If Cloud really loved Tifa that way, he would never want her out of his sight, plus when he was with Aerith, he always made sure that he'll follow her around to keep her safe, even if you cancel the bodyguard protection thing, Cloud treats Aerith more as a friend/or more xD then Tifa's like this special sister care thing.

the CloTis are way weird, if Aerith forgives Cloud in AC, and Cloud *suddenly* flies into Tifa's arms in extreme happiness, that would BE pretty stupid. Yeah, after Aerith forgives him, he forgets aaaaall about her and turns to Tifa becoz he's freed from guilt !!! . ]

yep  Totally agree with what you say, Anastar. :P :)
I hear Clotis say that too. That Cloud's and Tifa's trust is stronger than Cloud and Aeris. That their trust started when they were children and it runs deeper than his "supposed" "fake" bond with Aeris. *cough.cough* <_<
One thing I always ask them is to provide "evidence" against my agruments. Which they can't do besides flame, bash, and provide their own interpretations.
If it was true, than Cloud wouldn't have to tell us about his childhood experience. Tifa wouldn't also have to help him in the lifestream (okay, she didn't do much since Cloud did all the discovering HIMSELF) nor would Cloud had LEFT his town and joined Soldier. I don't even called that a bond since they weren't even CLOSE at all. Tifa barely knew Cloud. And yet, Clotis keep denying this part of truth that Cloud says and keep bashing away. I always had a feeling that everything Cloud said is just BS for Cloti fans. What's the point of making Cloud end with Tifa since their side is so ONE-SIDED? Cloud's words are clearly being ignore...so its just all about Tifa. <_<

Exactly how I feel. If Aeris being resurrected is cheesy in Cloti's eyes, than they are such hypocrites trying to get a Cloti ending where Cloud happily take his relationship with Tifa to a higher meaning.

Cloud has a lot of struggles to go through and I can see that its hard for him to sort them through. Though, I don't think its guilt that Cloud is going through. I mean, I think there's a small percentage of that but even after hearing Aerith's words, Cloud still look like he's lost in his own world.
Hmm...maybe its just me since its just trailer scenes. But it really surprised me that he was able to tell Aeris something and not to Tifa. That's what I called bond and trust. Of all the people to let someone know his pain, he let Aeris know a bit about it.

That's exactly the way I see it, too. Where do we ever hear Cloud say that he wants to be with Tifa? Where do we ever see Cloud say he loves Tifa? There's no sign that he reciprocated her feelings under the Highwind, unless you take his response of, "............." to mean that he spent the night cuddling with her. But Cloud is never seen touching Tifa - he has his arms crossed over his knees the next morning. So there's nothing to show that Cloud reciprocates her feelings. Like you said, it's all one-sided.

They all say that Cloud admitting that he had a crush on Tifa when they were kids shows that Cloud loves her now, but I think that's a far stretch. Quistis had a crush on Squall when they were kids, and Rinoa had a thing with Siefer, but they didn't end up with them.

There's nothing to show that Cloud loves Tifa in the current frame of events, and very honestly, I'm not so sure that Cloud even had a crush on Tifa when they were kids. When you look at the lines carefully which imply that, it doesn't have to mean that he had a crush on her at all.

The cheese factor is not my only complaint. AC will pretty much be Cloud's story; he will deal with the guilt and the pent-up emotions that have been building up inside him since FF7. Center stage are his forgiveness for Aerith, his hatred for Sephiroth, conflicts with the SHM, how he will rescue the children, and on top of it all, the deadly disease that is slowly taking his life.
And where is Tifa? From what we've seen of her, she's playing the part of the caring, well-meaning friend, but there is a wall between her and Cloud. She doesn't have a firm grasp on everything that's making Cloud tick right now, on anything that means something in Cloud's universe (In fact, Vincent seems to have a better grasp than her) Cloud's present issues don't even come close to his supposed romantic feelings for Tifa (unless you count that unlikely theory that he wants to ask Aeris forgiveness so he can be with Tifa  )
If Cloud does survive AC, he will be a significantly changed man. But if he shacks up with Tifa, that would be SE saying "Oh by the way, after all he's dealt with, Cloud realizes that holy crap! he loves Tifa and now they are going to spend the rest of their lives together" It would be scrapping the very foundation that made Cloud Cloud
