Yeah.. I know. Tifa is really pretty, I have to admit, but just put it on a Tifa shrine or something. It features more of Tifa than actually Tifa's own fanlisting. When I saw Gospel Decay, I was thinking more Aeris hatelisting... But then I'm just really quick to accuse. It's weird but 'Our Promise' doesn't work when I access it through a hit on Google. It only comes out properly through the fanlistings.org. Strange.

While we're on the topic of comparing, the Zack and Aeris fanlisting currently has 146 members. Nowhere close, but it's a lot more than any of the other couple fanlistings. Cloud has so many fans! I want to know where the cover picture for "Enchanted" came from! :fangirl:

I'm not sure if the owner of Gospel Decay really hates Aeris, but I'm sure she sure loves Tifa (that's a true given). I also thought she disliked Aeris too because hardly is mentioned of her.. I'm not really quite the #1 fan of Tifa just because of the crazy CloTi fans. They're really annoying and they keep yapping about how CloudxTifa are the true couple of FFVII. That's really uncool <_< Especially with all the bashing. I used to love Tifa as much as Aeris (I thought she was meant to go with Barret before, actually) :lol: and cuz she was a free fightergirl. But the possibility with her and Cloud sorta ticks me off.. oh well. ^_^

When I search Our Promise on Google, it works.. but First Love (ZackxAeris) doesn't work for me, only on TheFanlistings.org. Vice versa! AWKWAAARD~! Heh ~ Cloud on Enchanted is so adorable~! 1386 fans! Wow! All the CxA & CxT fans are definitely combined in that one. Haha, First Love doesn't really have to be compared to other couple fanlistings.. but that's a lot. ^.^

Cloud is so lucky that all the cleris and cloti fans like him. I didn't particularly favor him that much before becoming a cleris, but I think he's starting to grow on me. Maybe I'll join his fanlisting.

It's called "DISTRESS [is her middle name]".. how lame! :mad: I'm ticked that people think Aeris is a damsel in distress. She can really kick some serious butt if she wanted to. Probably if Tifa wore the same clothing as Aeris they would probably have the same feelings for her too.. they just need Aeris to fight more. Probably it's because Aeris is so kind-hearted she wouldn't hurt a fly :D Besides, Aeris barely asked for help. Only in the church when the Turks were after them, but it was probably because Aeris admired Cloud's skills and was totally proud of him :P And..nope, Tifa doesn't have a hatelisting.. who wouldn't hate her, she totally has "big boobs, skills, wit and spunk" <_< but I still think Tifa is cool.. I just wish Aeris was respected more and that she's just as tough as all the other girls in FFVII..

It can be quite odd though, some #1 Tifa fans may support the Cleris couple, and some #1 Aeris fans can support CloTi.. hmm. Well, yeah, Cloud can be a moron at times. I also didn't like his character that much in the beginning because he was very stubborn, i only liked him because he was hot :angel: But as it went on Cloud became a more realistic character and starting being so much cooler. I warmed up to him as well and fell in love with Cleris :fangirl:

At least that hatelisting only has 50 members... Ah well, magic users hardly ever get the amount of respect that they deserve. It's just unusual for a female character as nice looking as Tifa to be using martial arts, so I guess that's why many like her. Forgive me, but I failed to see her 'wit and spunk'

I wasn't opposed to Cloud x Tifa at first, and thought, 'Fine! Tifa can have Cloud if she wants him so much!' So, I was a bit reluctant to join the CxA fanlisting, but I finally did it! No matter what, I'll always be a huge Aeris fan!

I know, Aeris is skilled in magic and she deserves some great respect here. I mean.. without her healing magic they wouldn't even have the strength to go on. As for Tifa and her 'wit & spunk', I heard many Tifa or CloTi fans say that.. I agree that it's unusual for a pretty face to be good at martial arts {boys find that perfect in a girl}, and it's quite rare, but that's why I love Aeris; she's so spontaneous and sort of realistic. You can't expect her to be the "perfect angel" anyway.. but at least she was for Cloud.

Those 50 Aeris haters are on drugs~! They really are easily-deceived. At least us loyal Aeris or Cleris fans don't bother giving Tifa a hatelisting {I don't hate Tifa, but I know there are others who do -.-"}.. I also never thought about Tifa hooking up with Cloud at first anyway because I thought she was supposed to go with Barret or Vincent {and now Reno!}.. Whatever FFVII: AC reveals about the enigmatic love triangle won't ever stop me from being a HUGE CxA & Aeris fan either.. ^_^

Yeah, I agree with you that people have their own rights to dislike a character. I'm just questioning myself, why do many people hate Aeris so much? Is it because she's an option for Cloud or a.. I don't know.. I just really love Aeris. I can't seem to see what they hate about her. But I do think that Aeris haters should consider at least that Aeris IS useful. I hear many Aeris haters say that about her. Oh well, everyone is entitled their own opinion anyway.

I suppose the reason people don't like Aeris is 1) She wears pink- an offensive color to those rebelling against the female stereotype, or perhaps to those who think pink is a sissy color.
2) She acts immature and insensitive
3) Is a complete airhead who probably loves everything alive (everyone has his or her own opinion...)
4) They just hate the whole setting up to be a martyr thing.

Or possibly the shallow reason 5) They love Tifa so much that they simply cannot like Aeris too. (may or may not include the 'she stole Cloud from his 'childhood friend'!' argument)

I only put reason 5 because that's what I personally felt (only it was reversed). I get carried away too, but it's much easier to understand the opinions of Aeris haters when I see Aeris' faults. Then again, maybe that's why I liked her in the first place; because she had human faults as well as strengths. Not like anyone here should need to hear why I'm so fond of Aeris. :P

But yes, I can see why people can dislike Aeris. In their eyes, she crossed the line into shallow, intolerable, saccharine sweetness. I see the same Aeris, but to me, she comes remarkably close to perfection without crossing the line. That's where opinions differ, I suppose.

Yes, I agree with you both. I see the same things about Aeris from the listed, but I take it as a positive way.. it just makes her character more realistic, like a more spontaneous girl who is so optimistic.

2) The escape from the Turks thing really did make Aeris look like a damsel in distress, but when you make her fight the guys, she really does fight them good. When she asks for help, Cloud pushes the barrels to land on the Turks to make it easier and faster (in my opinion).

3) Yeah, she does sort of act immature and insensitive at times.. especially her first meeting with Cloud. But it gives a bright side to their lonely world.. they need some laughter in their lives.

4) She's a girl who wears pink and grows flowers in a peaceful church. People may hate the "innocent" image because people mostly love girls who kick arse. I also like the tough girl thing at times, but that stereotype is becoming everyone's favorite and it doesn't give deserving characters a chance. Besides, Aeris may not be the "innocent angel", but her character is so unique and natural.

5) Aeris isn't as hot as Tifa. I think Aeris doesn't HAVE to have sex appeal, she's already elegant and beautiful which makes it more romantic.

6) She gets in the way of "Cloud & Tifa's childhood friendship" thing. First, I don't think Cloud & Tifa really knew eachother that well at all.. their first real conversation was at the well. But, I do agree that they deeply care for eachother, but not in a "more than a friendship" way. I think the CloudxAeris is a more beautiful and unique relationship, and we also get to see how they meet and physically depart from eachother. ::sob::

But I am also thinking that the usual "I am in love with my best friend that I knew for years" stuff is also getting too common. How about keeping just an everlasting friendship? The CloudxTifa friendship is enough for me, because they can take care of eachother but not develop into something more.

Sorry for this long post.. I hated Tifa a lot at first, but then she grew on me. I dislike her a bit for some reason but not as much as before. She's just a character who I think is independent and a helpful person.

I noticed that most of the reasons tend to involve Tifa. I guess it's impossible to be a Tifa fan and give Aeris a fair chance, or vice versa. It's too bad they have to be constantly compared when both are good characters.

Yeah.. I think I've heard some of these details from a CloTi (the reasons why they hate Aeris). It's sad that Aeris and Tifa are always compared, but I think that some might love them both. They are really great characters and they need some more respect.. and not to mention some considered chances. My older brother (who is sadly a slight CloTi but doesn't really care) told me some things about Aeris that he disliked.. and my other friend who is a FFVII freak. A lot of people are always comparing them both nowadays..

The Cloud/Aeris fanlisting has changed their layout! It's really pretty! I like the colors, it's all gold 'n' stuff.. especially if you look at the bottom. :D But I don't know if the top is supposed to be like that, it looks all squished up there.. but it's still pertyful~! ^_^
