I've always enjoyed Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII. I thought she was great in KH, too! Some people gripe about when she stole the materia in Wutai, but I always thought that Yuffie made up for it by the end of the game when she came back for the final fight in the Northern Crater. I thought that Yuffie showed her dedication and resolve to fight Sephiroth when she did that.

Yuffie's a prankster who doesn't always do things in ways acceptable to other people, but she's always a bright spot in the game who made me laugh. But there's a deeper side to Yuffie, too, as we saw from her reaction to Aerith's death. I found her reaction very touching.

Yuffie's limit breaks were awesome, too! I can't wait to see more about her role in the movie. I think Yuffie looks terrific in AC, too!

ACKKKKK! >_< How could I be so forgetful? I KNEW there was some kind of club that was missing. Of course I'll join! :)

I love Yuffie, she's my favorite character in VII beating out the likes of Aeris, Vincent and Cloud. She's sneaky, conniving, bratty, but she's human all the same. She does all her actions for the good of her hometown and she is really quite caring once you get down to the core of it. I really do hope she gets a bigger role in AC. I'll be disappointed if she doesn't!

I consider myself a major Yuffie-fan. She's an awesome fighter (I always have her in my final party!), and I loved her personality too (I loved moments like her conversation about motion-sickness with Cloud, and her reaction to Aeris' death nearly moved me to tears). I think she's an incredibley endearing character and she may have her imperfections, but she also has amazing zest for life, sensitivity, and a strong and firm dedication to her goals that I can't help but love. ^_^

Her date is absolutely priceless, too. :lol:

Barely anything has been said about Yuffie, they're focusing more on Cloud, Tifa and Vincent I think... :(

I loved how Cloud's Girl and Materia Thief described her - I love her attitude, and MT, you put it perfectly; she's so human. That's what I love about her. She can be arrogant, devious, and self-serving but at the core she's very strong-willed, caring and loyal (and much less indestructible than she pretends to be, lol). I only wish she wasn't just an optional character in the game; that way, she could've had even more character-development. But for a character with so little development; her personality still comes off so strongly. ^_^

Oh man, I'd love to see a scene like that! It'd be great! I think it'd be fantastic (not to mention really funny) to see her in action, stealing materia and the like... :whistle:

Lady Anime, there is no shame in this. Ninjas are the begin-all and end-all of coolness. Yuffie being a ninja increases her coolnes 3578-fold. :lol:

But on that subject, I love how she's such an inversion of the typical ninja personality though. Most ninjas are mysterious and icy figures (take FFVI's Shadow, for example), while Yuffie is loud, outgoing, emotional and very obvious. She's a really twisted version of what we expect a ninja to be like - and she pulls it off so well! ^_^

I couldn't believe how many people were saying on different forums that they didn't think Yuffie would be in the movie because she was an optional character, and because she was unpopular! :huh: They were even saying this after Vincent had been announced. <_<

Yuffie was never unpopular. She was one of the fan favorites, even as an optional character. She also takes the place of one of the bigger FF character stereotypes, the happy, hyper, mischeivous girl like Selphie, Eiko and Rikku. I think Square NEEDED to put her in AC, even though we still don't know her exact role.

I always loved Yuffie's character. Some may have found her up-beat, sly, go-get-'em attitude annoying, but I found that's what I liked best about her. I actually enjoyed the Wutai quest, it showed more depth to Yuffie's character. I mean, it showed she wasn't really all that 'selfish'. She was only stealing materia to help her hometown. She's a great fighter. I had her in my party in the final battle, and she did great. She actually made the final blow to Sephiroth in the 'Bizzare Sephiroth' battle. ;) Hopefully, Square didn't put Yuffie in AC just be 'there' to please us Yuffie fans. She'll have her own little story that will add more depth to her character.

I totally agree with you about Yuffie's character and abilities, Real Emotion. It was annoying when Yuffie stole the materia, but she didn't do it because she was a selfish brat. And she's a great fighter - I often put her in my final party. I think she's a great character! I'll put you in the member's list! :rolleyes:

I hope that Yuffie has a real role in AC rather than just making an appearance in it, too. I think she could best be used to pull something on the SHM, such as stealing the Bahamut materia back from them or tricking them with a false trade off for Jenova's head or something like that. If they need to trick the SHM somehow, then Yuffie's the one who should do it. :rolleyes:

As much as I love Yuffie, I'd have to disagree with that to a certain extent. I think it seriously depends on where you go, since depending on the forum certain characters will be more/less popular then on another forum (Such as Aeris on a Cloti-based forum. ;)) I've seen forums where Yuffie is hated more then Cait Sith! But then again, I've seen forums where Yuffie is one of the most loved characters. :)

I've been to forums where she's really unpopular, too. I've always been surprised to see that. If she were really that unpopular, though, I doubt that she'd be in Kingdom Hearts. The reason I usually hear from people who don't like her is that she stole the materia. Well... Tifa lied to Cloud and it resulted in Cloud giving the black materia to Sephiroth in the Northern Crater - which is a much bigger problem than losing the materia for a short time - yet people like Tifa and overlook what she did to Cloud. I think almost all hate towards characters is irrational. The only character you really should hate (if they're well structured characters that is. ;)) are villains. Because, well, you're SUPPOSED to hate them. I've heard plenty of reasons why Yuffie's so very 'evil and stupid and suX0rs'. The majority say it's because she stole their materia, which is understandable (to an extent), but I've heard some pretty bad reasons. Someone once told me that her voice was 'grating' (did she even have a voice? :lol:) and someone else told me that they hated her smile...? :blink:

Yeah, you're right... hatred of characters is usually for ridiculous reasons. (They hated Yuffie's *voice*? :lol:) You're right... people should be hating the villains, yet many villains are loved! :lol: I couldn't stand Seymour :sick:, but I know a lot of other people who like him.

And yeah... I think too many people like Tifa just for her boobs. <_<

She is very pretty in AC! And yeah, if Yuffie had Tifa's boobs, you would see INSANE Cloud/Yuffie sites and fanbases. It's scary how stupid people are when it comes to wallowing in their hormones.

And I DEFINATELY agree that character hatred is completely absurd. And so is some people's reasons for being completely obsessed with characters. Pixelated boobs are not good enough reasons. <_<

Even villains. I don't think I hate any of them in any game I've played. I've been annoyed by them and repelled by them, but I've never "hated" any. Why? There is no need to "hate" something that isn't real. And it's not like the person came and killed YOUR family or burned YOUR town in a rage. And I seriously doubt that they could care less if you think their voice or hair sucks.

In my case, if the villain's story is really well done, I begin to feel for him/her. I'm not as shallow as people who have to judge every little detail about their appearance and call it grounds for criticism. It's completely rediculous.

One villain I'm absolutely in love with though... Vergil from Devil May Cry 3. I absolutely adore the brotherly relationship between him and Dante. But that's a whole new story. :lol:

I do, too! I think she looks terrific! I dunno about the rest of you, but in my opinion, I think she's much prettier in AC than Tifa. If you ever do a cosplay of Yuffie, let us know! :rolleyes:

That's part of what makes Sephiroth's story so well done. He was a victim as well as a villain. I thought he was awesome in the first part of Cloud's story in Kalm. I hate what he did to Nibelheim, Cloud, and Aerith, yet what was done to him was wrong. I wonder if things would have been different for Sephiroth if he had grown up under Lucrecia's care? :unsure:

On the subject of Villains. I'm not saying that they SHOULD be hated, on the contrary, if they're good characters that add to the plot (like Sephy. :)), you should at least be able to sympathize with them. And as you said, you shouldn't HATE fictional things. ;). But if there's anything that you COULD justify 'disliking', then it would be villains. :)

Yuffie is my favorite character when she cried at Aerith's death. It was quite something. I also liked the fact she took pride in her heritage that she was actually said that Cloud's group were the only ones who stands up against ShinRa. The fact she also didn't bail out on them in the final battle, and spent the whole game being sick just to get their materia in the long run pretty much shows she's pretty determined. Plus she's a ninja. And ninjas are cool...

I'll play devil's advocate here that I don't think Yuffie, Red XIII, Cid and Barret would make major roles in the movie. But I could be wrong. Here's to hoping.

Despite what her anti-fans said, Yuffie kicks butt. She'll do it with her eyes closed too. She is literally my strongest fighter in the game (my problem with Tifa is that her defense was pretty low and loses HP too fast), with Yuffie you can put her in the back row) :lol:

I completely agree. Yuffie's always one of my strongest fighters, too. She's a very good character.

Most people seem to dump on her because she rips off the materia in Wutai, but she made a mistake and made up for it later. Like I said earlier, Tifa made a big mistake by lying to Cloud and it resulted in Sephiroth casting the black materia. If Tifa hadn't lied to Cloud about his memory problems, Sephiroth wouldn't have been able to manipulate Cloud into believing that he was nothing but a failed experiment of Hojo's before the Reunion. If Sephiroth hadn't been able to manipulate Cloud like that, Cloud wouldn't have handed the black materia to him. It's all thanks to Tifa's lies that Cloud handed over the black materia, so Tifa did something much worse than Yuffie did. Yet, people forgive Tifa for that but don't forgive Yuffie. Go figure.

Yuffie's my second favorite female character after Aerith. Aah, come on, why can't people just forget about the whole stealing/ being "bratty" thing?! Yuffie robbed my materia, she stole my gil coz i answered the questions wrongly, but I always found her interesting and had her in my party, her dialouge's funny.
-I think Yuffie has an almost equal fanbase, one hating her, and the other one loving her at the same time.. But a LOT of people I know dislike her, none of my friends like her. no.1, they're guys: they prefer Tifa!!! *only* It's weird how my guy friends can loooooove Riku but don't care about Yuffie at all. Just because Yuffie is independant, strong and has a realistic chest for her age, more people don't like her. I liked Yuffie since I got her and I loved fighting with her. And yeah, I even found the whole issue of her stealing everyone's materia kinda amusing. It mixed the game up a little and gave it that little extra bit of excitement.

Yeah, I found the Wutai subquest more amusing than irritating. It's not like you didn't get the materia back, or like it was difficult to fight on Wutai without it, or like you had to watch your back every minute or Yuffie would steal it again. I find people's reactions to Yuffie stealing the materia in Wutai similar to those who "hate Aerith" because they trained her and then she died - as if that's a reason to "hate" her. <_< All of the characters stay a few levels within one another whether you use them or not.

Yeah. I got Aeris up to 99 once. I think if it were a valid reason to hate her, I would be making voodoo dolls of her and burning them. <_<

I agree, Anti-R... I think the Wutai sidequest is a lotta fun. I don't understand why people get the idea that Yuffie is an evil person because of it. She has a great sense of humor, and it makes a the game a lotta fun with her around.

Didn't you think her sense of humor and her pranks were downplayed in KH? She seemed much more mature than she did in FFVII. But then again, I get the impression that she's more mature in AC so far, too. Maybe not... we'll have to see. :rolleyes:
