Title: More Screenshot Help!
Description: Xenogears spoilers within!

Kaldea - February 26, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
Ok, I need a screenshot of Fei and Elly's "morning after" scene in Xenogears. You know... When she is covering herself with her blanket in bed? Yeah... :ermm:

And yes, it will be used as ammo against the rediculous claim of Cloud and Tifa having sex under the Highwind. My intentions are pure!

Sorry, I haven't played Xenogears. I tried looking on the internet, and I didn't find it. There's one site with a lotta Xenogears screens here, though: http://gameforms.com/features/backtracking...ars/beginnings/ Click on the links in the left hand margin to find sections on the other parts of the game.

If you can't find it there, I'd try asking at Gamefaqs where you could get it. If anyone would know where to find it, they would.

And BTW... your site is looking great!

Yeah, I looked on that site before and I couldn't find it. I'm surprised that scene is so hard to find when it's so popular. But it could be because Xenogears didn't get the attention it deserves. You should play it! Good game!

And thanks! I just need to get into the mood to write for the site now. ^_^

You could always just use some Fei x Elly artwork and describe how Square made it obvious that they had slept together.

And the story sounded good at that Gameforms site.

When I beat it, I honestly felt as if it were another FFVII with how awesome the story was and the depth of it. It was also released very close to FFVII, in the years of what I like to call "the golden age of gaming". It really is a wonderful game. It was tied with FFVII as my favorite game ever.

And I'd prefer a screenshot just to show that Square intended to give the idea that Fei and Elly...did stuff...the night before. Elly is in bed under the blankets naked talking to Fei (Elly's profile also shows her naked from the shoulders up and the scene right before this was quite romantic and touching as well), who is then fully dressed and ready to go out again. There is another scene like this but it is WAY too complicated to explain and it would be considered a big spoiler, so I'm "hush hush" about that.

But yeah, with how Square portrayed this and how they let the Highwind scene unfold, it's a BIG difference. And it is very good evidence that Square had no intentions whatsoever of adding a mindless sex scene between Cloud and Tifa.

Did know that Cloud says, "Xenogears" during the Mideel hospital scene in the PC version of VII? He says it if you go back to the hospital after leaving with Cid as the team leader to North Corel. If you come back and have Cid talk to Cloud, he says something about angel's singing voices and then he says, "Xenogears". From what I've heard about Xenogears, I don't think the bit about angels is a reference to Aerith.

Actually I've heard of that. My first version of FFVII is my precious PC version. I know I've seen it somewhere and it was either in FFVII itself or FFT. He says something like "Zeno...gias". If you say it fast, it sounds like how someone with a Japanese accent would say Xenogears. ^_^

And that game has a lot of religous themes in it. But they are so well put in that game, everything just fits so well.

I've heard he says, "Zeno... gais" at the same point in the PS game and that it means "Xenogears" in Japanese. I knew I had a screenshot of it, coz I had to prove it to someone one time.

Someone even came along and said that the pic looked Photoshopped until a few other people came along and verified that it did indeed happen in the PC version. <_<

Ah, m'kay. I need to play that version again. And FFT.

I hate image searches that don't work. <_<

I even tried the Fei x Elly screenshot search for you on JP search engines. I thought they might have it, but I couldn't find it. :(

Aww... It's ok. But thanks! ^_^

Hey, CG... since you know so much about Xenogears:

****Xenogears Spoilers****
From what I've read about Xenogears, it sounds like Xenogears may be another example of love continuing beyond death in a game. Did I get the right impression? And it also sounded like Fei may have sacrificied herself, although I'm not sure about that...

~*~Xenogears spoiler warning~*~

It has many instances of a love interest sacrificing themself for the good of someone/the world and it continues even after death. It goes on over and over and over. Near the beginning, Fei somehow knows Elly's name even though he just met her and Square puts it in as if it isn't really important. No special attention is paid to it until later when the story REALLY gets deep. It turns out that Fei and Elly have had past lives together (with even another "morning after" scene of them in another life) and one of them ALWAYS ends up sacrificing themself or dying tragically (if my memory is right, it's always Elly who dies) and the other has to deal with the pain of losing them. They just seem to get reincarnated only to meet, become lovers, and tragically split apart. Over and over.

An interesting note is that each time right before Elly dies, she tells Fei to "live".

In Xenogears, death is just like an opportunity to live again. Death is never the end and it CERTAINLY pertains to the love between Fei and Elly. Even though they may have different names with each life they live.

Fei is the one with the mysterious past that he doesn't know/remember and he even has a wild alter ego that takes incredible control of him sometimes with (one of the) main enemies knowing exactly what is happening to him. Sounds familiar? It does to me.

Elly is a soldier of an opposing side and she incredibly resembles an important religious figure named Sophia who gave her life for her people. An important painting of Sophia (which was never really finished) looks EXACTLY like Elly and Fei has flashbacks of painting a picture when he looks at it. The plot thickens.

~*~End spoilers~*~

I'll reread the script again to refresh my memory. That game is so awesome and I really love how brave Elly's character is. Also, the music in the game is very memorable, a lot like FFVII. Both of those games have a depth in their story that none have ever come close to in my opinion.

And by the way, I think it's safe to talk about this game around rabid CloTis. They wouldn't understand the story even if it meant their demise.

Very interesing, CG! Thank you! :D

From what you've told me, I'd love to play it now! :D
