I don't really know where to post this but anyway, this is about Cloud Strife.... :ermm:

I was going through Cloud's pictures from Advent Children... and realized that he doesn't smile. I've never seen an official picture of him with a smile on his face, except for the one in the Panasonic mobile phone for Before Crisis wherein he's smiling slightly.
Even in the pictures from the Final Fantasy 7 game, he had no pictures wherein he's smiling.

Has anyone of you seen him smile in official pictures/art (not fanart or doujinshi)? :cry: It just made me contemplate on something about how bad his past experiences must have been that he must find it hard to... smile or something. :cry: *ooooh poor Cloud!!!* *cries*

Cloud hasn't smiled in any serious official art, but he does look like he's having fun in this picture. :lol:

I think he just needs something to smile about. I am sure he smiled a lot around Aeris but since she died, he has fallen deeper into depression. Poor Cloud indeed. :cry:

Mmmm...I think he smiles a little at the end of FFVII, when he´s saying to Tifa that he can meet her (Aeris ^^) in the Promised Land... Maybe he´s smiling when he sees Aeris hand in the Lifestream, too :unsure: ...

At any rate, I don't remember seeing him smile in any AC picture. Poor Cloud has looked unhappy, depressed, and forlorn in all the AC pics. Then again, we only saw Cloud smile once in the game, too, and that was with Aerith.

That's one of the reasons I've always felt that Cloud was an angst-filled and tragic character, and that it's a little hard to imagine a "happy ending" for him. I can't imagine him turning into some happy-go-lucky joe schmoe with some pretty girl on his arm, like the Cloti's envision. Learning not to blame himself and finding peace is one thing - turning into a happy guy who enjoys all that life has to offer is another. I think it would contradict his entire characterization for Cloud to turn into some happy guy with no cares in the world. Cloud's always gonna be an angst-muffin... and I love him that way. :rolleyes:

Can´t you see the image?? Sorry U.U... Well, I would try to find other... But it isn´t of AC, but FFVII, at the end when he´s with Tifa after he has seen Aeris hand... But no, in AC I haven´t seen he smiling TT___TT...

I agree with you, Anastar... Cloud is a tragic character, and AC has a tragic and dark atmosphere... I can´t see a "happy ending" there... Dirge of Cerberus seems to have a dark atmosphere, too... So AC surely won´t have a happy ending...

I've heard many people say that he smiles during the hand reach scene, but I never thought he was smiling. To me, he looks amazed and wondering, as if he can't believe his eyes. He looks to me as if he's hoping against all hope that he can somehow reach her, as if he's praying that he'll be able to take her hand. However, I think we would have seen a slight smile from him if he had been able to take hold of her hand.

It's like when Sora reached his hand out to Kairi near the end of Kingdom Hearts. Sora wasn't smiling yet because he hadn't reached her. Why would Cloud smile before Aerith was back in his arms, before knowing whether it would work?

Mmmm, I think you have reason, Anastar... Cloud seems more concerned than "happy"... Squall is happy and smiling at the end of FFVIII, but Cloud isn´t here U.U...

I think Cloud will smile at the end of AC, when he´s been able of see Aeris face (and the viewers, too ^^)... if he can see her, of course U.U... Although I don´t have any doubt of that because Nomura said Aeris won´t be disapointed ^^ (between another things...).

i think the only time i saw him smiling was when he was reaching out for aeris hand (at least i think he was smiling :/ )

Did he smile back in VII? I think the only time he smiled(or laughed) was when he was with Aeris, right? I don't think he smiled in the hand reach scene. Like what Aly said, he looked more amazed or astonished. Or maybe he is at a lost for words, because his mouth is open. Like he wanted to say something, but no words would come out..
I'd love to see Cloud smile atleast once in AC. A small subtle smile is all I ask from Mr. Strife.

I agree... I don't think we can ever expect to see Cloud with a big, toothy grin on his face. :lol: I certainly wouldn't expect to see Squall smiling like that, so why Cloud? However, Squall gave a slight smile in the final FMV of FFVIII. That kind of smile is what I would expect to see from Cloud once he sees Aerith's face.

I think he did smile or laugh most of the time when he was with Aerith, especially when they were escaping from the turks. But sadly, there aren't any pictures I know of to show it :(.

In advent, in the trailers I've seen so far, i could barely even see him wince or smirk. I guess going through such a rough life does somewhat squeeze out the happiness from you, especially if you lost the one you loved . :cry: Hopefully his sadness will be over at the end of Advent Children and he'll smile like he'd never smlied bfore :) .

*twitches* Okay, it will take me a long time to recover after seeing those smiling Cloud pics. He looks like a cross between evil and sarcastic. I'm being mean but the miserable face suits him better :P

Yeah, that would be fa-reek-ay if he smiled like Sora does all the time. Ya know, like when Donald tells him to smile. O.o He looks high when he does that. I agree though, the only time he's smiled and/or laughed is when he's around Aerith. Same goes for me, when I'm around my girlfriend. But she's mad at me for something I don't even know about!
