Title: I'm Back - For Real!
Description: New name, new perspectives
Brother Carlo - June 11, 2008 06:15 AM (GMT)
Hi, guys. My name's Carlo - I was here a year or so ago for a very short period of time before college work flared up, but now I'm back for keeps with some new perspectives.
Q: Since when have you been a Cleris subscriber?
A: Since 2004. I always thought Cloud and Aeris looked good together, but I only became a total believer then.
Q: When did you hear about you-know-what?
A: 1997, not long after it came out. I was 9 and reading the strategy guide, and while I managed to hold it together, darn if I didn't tear up.
Q: Why the name?
A: I'm in the middle of writing a Cleris story on FF.net called
The Possible Dream, which is an FF7/FF Tactics Advance crossover that contains songfic and Christian elements. Because FF7 and the Cloud/Aeris storyline has so much Christian influence in it that it's not even funny (which is absolutely fine with me), there are times when I want to explore my religious/spiritual side (I'm Catholic, by the way) when I look at or talk about Cloud and Aeris, including when I'm writing stuff for that story. Don't get me wrong - I'm not monastic or anything like that and I do like to have fun talking about more than just religion, but looking at Cloud and Aeris is one of those things that can put me into a spiritual mood, so I came up with...(see signature)

Hi and welcome back! :welcome: Hope we can get to know you better this time! That Cleris angle sounds interesting...I've never thought about it that way before.

Thanks! I actually already replied to your post under Lyrics/Poems about "A Little Fall Of Rain"...

If I were you, I'd... remove the autor's note from the middle of the text. I won't get into self-inserts, but I'm interested to see how you'll incorporate Chrisitan themes into a FFTA fic. Especially considering, you know, Ivalice has several religions already, and gods in canon.
Oh, and hi.
Brother Carlo - June 11, 2008 08:17 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the welcome. Will consider moving that author's note.
I know Ivalice has gods already, but that's not an issue with me because starting in Chapter 5, which I'm writing right now, the action shifts to Gaia. Don't worry about the self-inserting taking away from the story - I want to add some of my personal experience following Cloud and Aeris and some of my life experience as material, but I can definitely tell you right now that I make a conscious effort to make my character take a back seat to Cloud and Aeris.

Thanks for the welcome, guys! Glad you've been enjoying the story, AA - I plan on updating it before the week's over if I can find an Internet terminal. My name beforehand was just plain Carlo, by the way.
