I don't know if you guys had heard much about this, but there's a manga (japanese comic book) based off of the game Kingdom Hearts. The drawing style is adorable, and all of our favorite Final Fantasy characters are in it. They haven't scanlated the part with Cloud yet, but that's what is next. I was just wondering how they are going to incorporate Cloud and Aerith, because it varies a bit from the game. Oh, and the Kingdom Hearts manga can be found here.

Unless they moved their scene (which wouldn't make much sense, would it?), the scene from game doesn't appear in it ^^; I've read the last 5 or so chapters and they didn't include any of the little extra scenes from the ending or any other Cloud and Aerith scenes as far as I remember. But I've not been keeping up with it really. Though since I think they used some scenes from Final Mix, they might have Aerith's asking about Cloud or maybe new scenes.

They're not finished scanlating it yet. They've only finished volume 1 and 2, and the entire game spans about 6 volumes (I think).

I've only gotten though the first volume, but I love it! I think it's cool they made a manga of it (now if they would just do that with Final Fantasy...)

But the comic itself (which was running in Famitsu PS2 for months before people in the West took any notice of it) finished a couple of issues ago. That's what I meant, I haven't been reading the scans.

Since it's related to this, they've started a Chain of Memories manga now, done by Shiro Amano who did the first one. It's running in S-E's Shonen Gangan this time. They've gotten up to chapter 2 so far (in the magazine, I think some people at AnsemReport were talking about scanlating it though), which featured Aerith (it's the Traverse Town chapter).

Edit: The last book (chap. 36 ~ the end) of the original manga is out now too, with a special Winnie the Pooh chapter as well.

Her shocked face at the bottom is because of the door they just walked out of. On the next page, she runs up and opens it and you see it only leads outside... and 6 stories up.

She sure does!! :ermm: In the others, she looks very unhappy. Of course - as I understand it - the Aerith we see in CoM isn't really Aerith, but Sora's memory of her... is that correct?

General CoM question:
Someone who played CoM told me that Cid, Squall, and Yuffie aren't in it. They were in the ad for CoM, though. Are they in it or not? :unsure:

That is the case. BUT...does that make her any less Aerith? After all Sora's memories of her are of the real Aerith so that would make the Aerith in his memories the real Aerith, at least in some sense...or something.

Because she just talks lot of nonsense, really! Cryptic stuff and all that, poor little Sora never really seemed to understand her. Or at least that's how I remember it, although it has been rather long since I played that game. :)

Goofy is hidden behind the speech bubble, and you can just see Donald just under it.

They called her 'mysterious' is because she says quite a lot of enigmatic things, like what Andina said. She just seems to generally knows stuff and is ahead of everyone else.

Here's two more of Aerith. I had to take the lid off my scanner to get them, and it still didn't go too well since it's at the spine and without folding it until pages start falling out, this is most it'll get.

Is Cloud going to be in the manga, and if he is, is there any information of his role in it?

Cloud should appear in Olympus Coliseum (the same area he appeared in the original game). If it follows the game, he could be a participant in a tournement. There were a couple of small changes to the story (removing tutorial sections that don't have use outside of the game) and dialogue changes, but nothing really big.

I haven't heard of any of Square's other game based manga being released in English, but there's always a chance someone will. If not, there'll probably be someone who'll scanlate it when it gets a proper book release (or even before).

Oh! So there are really big chances that he will appear in the manga. I want to see how they develop the Aerith and Cloud encounter in the manga. I'm sure they'll have a longer plot for themselves. Thanx wilhelm. :huggle:

Cloud and Aerith probably won't meet in the CoM manga, because they don't meet in CoM. That's probably because they're really just Sora's memories in CoM.

But I'm sure I saw a picture of them meeting. Or was it from Final Mix? And if it was, wasn't Final Mix released to explain and to compliment some things of CoM?

Yep, you did see a picture of them meeting... but that was at the end of Kingdom Hearts.

Cloud and Aerith meet in both KH and Final Mix. CoM came out for Gameboy after Kingdom Hearts and Final Mix, and it was supposed to show what happened immediately after Kingdom Hearts. Cloud and Aerith are both in CoM, but they only exist as Sora's memories of them. KH2 will pick up two years after Kingdom Hearts.

Lookit how Cloud is looking down as he approaches Aerith. It reminds me of Cloud hanging his head in the flower field. :rolleyes:
