Title: Official 2008 Fanwork Contest
Description: [FAQ & Prompt Submission]

icor - May 1, 2008 07:25 AM (GMT)
First of all, thanks to the staff for giving this the go ahead. : )

In light of our last contest, the Official Cloud X Aerith 100 Themes Challenge, which produced some fantastic pieces of fanwork, it seemed about time we had a new challenge with a slight twist to it.

Rather than single word themes, this round we'll be using user-submitted prompts. Here's how things will work:

---

How the contest works

Prompts are submitted by forums members. There is no limit to how many prompts each user can submit, or any restrictions on who can submit - whether or not you intend to participate.

To submit a prompt, please use the following format: [character(s)/pairing/threesome/moresome] - fandom - phrase/idea/summary/lyric/quote

Example: [Cloud/Aerith] OGC - AU: the consequences of Aerith living, or [Zack, Angeal, Sephiroth] Crisis Core - "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

What will be accepted

As this is a Cloud/Aerith forum, the focus will be on the pairing. However, because not everyone feels inspired by Cloud/Aerith all the time, prompts from the whole of the Final Fantasy VII Compilation, revolving around any characters or pairings are more than welcome, just to mix things up a bit. Additionally, Cloud and Aerith prompts can be submitted for other fandoms they feature in; that is, Final Fantast Tactics and the Kingdom Hearts series.

(For reference: Original Game Canon (OGC), Crisis Core, Before Crisis, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Final Fantasy Tactics and Kingdom Hearts.)

How to submit

Send all prompts via PM to icor. All prompts collected will be posted anonymously to a master list, ready for claiming. Do NOT reply to this post with your prompts.

How to claim

Once the master list has been posted, copy and paste the prompt into a reply to the thread, and note fanwork you'll be producing. The master list will then be updated. Each prompt can be claimed a total of twice for each type of fanwork (fanfiction, fanart, graphics, fanvideos). Fanwork must be posted within one month of the original claim. If not, the prompt will be opened up for someone else to claim.

How to post

Once you've completed your claim, you can either post it in the relevant forum here and place a link in this thread, or post it off-site (FFNet, LiveJournal, Photobucket, YouTube, &c.) and leave a link here. Please note, however, that any and all NC-17/MA rated material must be posted off-site, and clearly warned for when being linked.

Schedule

1st May - prompt submission open
14th May - prompt submission closed
14th May - master list posted
14th May - claims open

If you have any questions at all, please ask them here. :3

Would an "Any" qualifier for character okay?

Would an "Any" qualifier for character okay?

Absolutely. : D

There have been some great prompts coming in! I kind of want to write them all. Oh, and because a few of you asked - no, you don't have to submit everything at once. Submit everyday, if you'd like.

Remember, today is the last day to submit any prompts. I'll be closing prompt submission at 23:59 GMT tonight, and posting the master list for claiming tomorrow.
