To tell the truth and I guess I'm thinking to hard, but I just started playing FFVII again on my computer and I got to the church scene... and I just got confused. A lot of things didn't make sense to me.

Okay, I can understand the easy talking and stuff and that she needed to attend to her flowers because Cloud did fall on them... *shame shame*

But then Reno showed up. Aerith kinda starts to panic some and asks Cloud to be her bodyguard when he does and the whole time they talk, they just kinda ignore the fact that Reno is right there the entire time waiting... and even when I went to take to him, he just said, "Don't mind me."

Okay... shouldn't he be like going completely after Aerith by now? I mean, it is Reno and Reno doesn't just sit around and watch things...

Kay then they run away to the back of the church. All fine and dandy, but then like so many things that Aerith didn't make sense for her to say. Something just seemed off to me, or maybe I'm just overthinking the whole thing.

I just went over the script, but it would really help if someone who played the game plenty of times explained the entire church scene to me. I'd help me a lot! And I have already beaten the game before so don't worrying about spoiling anything.

It's one of those irrational RPG scenes. Like, "why the heck did Zell just let Rinoa dangle over the cliff, and ONLY Squall was allowed to rescue her?" Or "what the frack was Tifa doing when she keeled over in the Materia cave?" ;)

O_o I never understood much of the dialogue in the church scene, either, I usually just end up dismissing it as some bad translation or something. If we could get the script to the church scene posted, I think maybe we could go over it and figure things out. ^_^

I'm not SURE! :lmao: She just sort of doubled over and let her arms dangle for a minute. At first I thought it was a reaction to something funny that was said (I forget the conversation), or maybe she was looking at the materia, but I'm not really sure.

I always thought there were some translation problems in with the church scene. I might try to replay it, I dunno.

She was looking at the materia while Sephiroth monologues what those things are.

But yeah, it was a weird... angle...

Oh thank Gawd that I wasn't the only confused by the church scene. The dialogue... just seemed so weird and a lot of times just out of place. I'm kinda agreeing with the idea that it was just bad translation. I mean that DID mess up Aerith's name on the transfer of Japanese to English.

I think I remember that part in the Materia Cave! I mean, it's not in the top of my head, but I remember having a HUGE 'what the diffie crap?!?!' with her later in the game. I bet that was it! Haha! Thanks for reminding me!

What happened in the Materia Cave was: Tifa flopped over, face down onto a large piece of Materia and just swung her arms while Cloud and Sephiroth talked.

You know, I think Square was just trying to throw in humor here. From what I get of the Turks, it's that they can almost never accomplish anything. Basically, they're bad guys who aren't as bad@ss as they think they are.

I don't think this scene was meant to be taken too seriously...hence, why Reno was standing around. Really, both he and Rude are pretty silly guys. XD

Yes, the church scene was a little off, but I can explain the Tifa thing in the materia cave.

Cloud had just called materia a "magic power", which is incorrect. Sephiroth tut tuts him and the reason why Tifa did that little head shake and slumps against the materia fountain was because she was like "Oh, I can't believe he didn't know that!".

Um, I hope that clears it up. :)
