Is there anyone out there (besides me) who would actually try and get the money to buy a PlayStation 3 just for a remake of Final Fantasy VII or would you only do it if you got other games as well?

Sadly, I wouldn't. While the graphics would be super gorgeous, I can stick with my original game and not have to pay $300 for yet another space taking console. I do want a PS3, don't get me wrong, and I will get one, but not just for a remake of FF7, dont fix what's not broken.

I'd only do it because I currently don't have a working PS1 or PS2 but I have a friend who told me I could borrow his PS1 and I got another friend who said he'd give me his PS2 if he ever got a PS3.

I'd buy a PS3 but not only for a FF7 remake. I'd also buy it to play Devil May Cry 4 and FFXIII provided that I could afford it. ^_^

I have a PS3. :wub: But I only bought it last week, after there were a few games released that I was interested in (DMC4, Folklore, Oblivion, Singstar), so if I didn't have one and a remake was released but there were no other games I wanted, I wouldn't buy it.

Not for a remake, no. I've got a perfectly working copy of FFVII, so no need for another. Now, if Chrono 3 was announced for PS3, I'd have one within the hour. :whistle:

No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't waste my money on a PS3 for one game alone. I have FFVII already (though I need another 1st disc), so I'm fine.

I actually bought my PS2 just for one game and got a PSP for Crisis Core. And if an FFVII remake came out for the PS3, I'd get a PS3 and probably sell my PS2. Of course I'd want other games for it later, but an FFVII remake would be my ultimate strive for one. :sweat:

I don't think I would. I run the PC version of FF7 heavily modified, so the graphics are a lot more up to date. But if I had a PS3 already.. .you bet I'd buy the remake.

So, to answer your question: I would buy a PS3 regardless of whether SE was remaking FFVII or not. I never buy a system just for one or two specific games. I have to make sure I'll be using the system often. BUT...I'm just a little bummed that I bought it so early though since there's hardly any RPGs for the system as of right now. I've barely touched my PS3 since I bought it, actually. :P

Well, is it only me thinking FF7's remake won't be in PS3? If there IS a remake in the making, S-E prolly would have it released in PS4, in order to urge players to buy the new game set. Thinking how CC was published in new PSP... :unsure:

i would even if i did'nt own one already cause theres alot of games other wise that i like such as gt5, unreal3,and haze one of these days plus that home thing is going to be cool i think. and it's one of the best blue ray players too cause it can be updated. so i looked at it as if i were buying a all in one media center more than just a game system.

Just for a remake of FFVII? No. For other games including the possibility of a remake of FFVII? Yes. The problem is, I don't have enough money (not even close) to buy a PS3. Let alone another gaming system (poor CC is just gonna have to wait for me on the shelves).

I thought I replied to this already. Yes, I would. Then I would get my PS3 money's worth it by finding other games I would enjoy. =P But a PS3 and no other games besides a VII remake? Mmm... I don't know. Probably not, unless I had THAT much money laying around somewhere unused. =P

For just the FFVII remake? A long shot. Other games that include it? Yeah. I would wait until the PS3 is cheaper (and I got more cash) before I can get it, regardless if there's a remake or not.

After all, there are other games like Folklore, The Last Remnant (you know, that other SE RPG in development?), the XIII games, etc.

At the moment, my current consoles and handhelds kept me happy for now (especially since I got Suikoden V).

I say that i would but in all seriousness no i really wouldn't. Although i do want one a re-make is one of the last reasons why i want one. Their are alot of good games for the PS3 that appeal to me more.

But if their was a re-make it would definatley encourage me more to get one...

Nah, it would take a lot more than a FF7 remake to make me buy a PS3. At the moment I haven't found any games to spark my interest into shelling out the money for one. Now if KH3 or perhaps Chrono 3 (as another poster mention) came out. I would so be all over that thing.

I got one, and since I have no games for it yet wouldn't be a bad idea to try the game. Yet it is to me, strange they have to remake every game now :\ and then put sequals on ten different systems.

I would not. I'll have to get FFXIII first. But seeing everything in so-miraculously-close perfection is better than anything I can think of.

No. Way. That thing is too damn expensive. So far I've been perfectly happy with my Wii, in any case, and until the PS3 price drops I'm not going near it.

No way. Prettier graphics doesn't make it a better or worse game, they only make--a prettier game, I guess. Even then I care far more about gameplay than anything and since the gameplay would (and should!) remain the same, there's no reason for me to buy a remake.
