Title: "the One I Loved..."
Description: Whose line is it? o.o

neocolors07 - April 9, 2008 07:22 AM (GMT)
In advent children Japanese version, Cloud said “watashi mo” (I don’t know the rest…he was too fast in saying it!). The complete line in English is “I came for the children”. So it’s a possibility that he said “The one I loved…she became part of the Lifestream”. Any comments, guys?

Reason why I brought this up:

Well, I remember someone (I can’t remember who…) saying that he couldn’t be the one who said “The one I loved…she became part of the Lifestream” because in that particular line Marlene said a particular word. That was “watashi”, a Japanese word for “I” in females. However, it could also be used by males. Getting back to the topic, someone said that Cloud only uses the Japanese word for “I” althroughout the movie which is “orewa”. But when I got to the part where Cloud faced Kadaj in the Forgotten City, I heard the “watashi” word come out of Cloud’s mouth. It's true!! I playbacked it a million times and even put it in slow motion...he did say "watashi..(I dont know the rest...u_u)".

Huh? It was clearly Marlene who said that line; I don't even see how it's up for debate.

Unless I've misunderstood you.

Yes, it was Marlene who was speaking the speech at the introduction of AC but at the end of her speech she said, "It's been two years since they told me that." I think she was just rephrasing the story that she's been told. :)

I don't quite get what you mean, but I think Marlene just meant that it was two years since they told her that Aerith died, and from what I presume, Marlene was very fond of her.

Some parts, yes, but she clearly said I, rather than he/Cloud, so... no, not really.

Marlene is fond of Aerith but so are the other members of the Avalanche. They may tell her that Aerith died and maybe someone *coughcloudcough* told her that someone they love 'Aerith' went back to the lifestream or died... :)

For all we know, maybe she was just rephrasing someone *coughcloudcough* saying it to her. :D
