will this game be as popular, as it today if aerith haven't die?

Probably not that popular,it's her death that touched the players and made the game stay in the history of RPGs.
Sure it would be a successful video game because of the characters and the villain and the fact that 10 years ago those graphics were supposed to be the cutting-edge but definitely not that popular without Aerith's death.After all,her death is the basic message the game passes to the player by feeling the pain of losing the person you love most.

No way. Aerith's death is what made FFVII more than a game. It made it a worldwide icon. Aerith's death is the 2nd biggest spoiler ever. Many people know beforehand for a reason. It's second only to Darth Vader's identity.

It would probably still be extremely popular, but Aerith's death was definately one of the definative moments of the game and definately helped make the game such a monster hit.

I think the game would still be popular, but maybe not quite as it is if Aerith hadn't died. Then again, it would have also depended on how Square had her interact further into the game.

But I really think Aerith's death made a huge impact on the game's popularity. ^_^
