Okay, so... in the very end of the game after Cloud's walked off we hear Zack talk, and one of the last things he says in the Japanese version is:

エアリスにあっ‎たら　　よろしくな
"Earisu ni attara, yoroshiku na."
Which is like saying, "If you meet Aeris, I leave her in your hands/Take care of her."

But in the English version they've translated it to something like, "If you meet her, Say hi for me."

There's nothing wrong with that, but it kind of made me feel a little down. :( I like the way "take care of her" or "I leave her in your hands" sounds better.

Sorry. That's just a rant from me, who loves to nitpick over little things.

I can't wait to get this game, though. :3 Out tomorrow.

I always love the japanese say it. It has more meaning. Anyway, are you sure in the English one Zack says "say hi"?

I thought he just said the same thing as in the japanese translate.

I just double-checked this video on youtube and Zack says, "If you see Aerith, say hi for me."

His message sounds so much sweeter in Japanese. "Take care of her for me." It's too bad he only forwards a greeting, in the English release! I think they should have kept it.

Ah damn...why did they change it? <_<
This is so sad plus the japanese words were much sweeter and at least kind of optimistic.

I don't think we should be cringing just yet. Since the English version hasn't come out yet then it's dubbed.

It doesn't matter if they changed it,Cloti's would just use that line against Us <_<

But I kinda hoped they kept the other lines ,instead of these new lines

I played the english version...Aerith's VA did a lot of improvement btw! ^_^ Zack did say "If you meet her, Say hi for me." instead of "If you meet Aeris, I leave her in your hands/Take care of her." some sort.
It's not much of a fuss.. dubbers have some sort of liking of changing lines. :lol:

I thought the Japanese version was actually better *dodges various objects* To me, it just shows that he really cared for her, even during his death.

I was a little iffed about the dubbing at the end myself. :( I interpreted the Japanese version as like saying Zack was now leaving Aerith in Cloud's care, almost like he hoped they would meet so the two people he cared for most in the world could take care of each other and not be all alone.

At least taking care of Aerith was something Cloud could and does do; he can't exactly tell Aerith Zack says hi cuz he doesn't remember him later. : /

Wow. That's one real ouch. They should've kept the Japanese lines when they translated in English. It just showed how Zack really cared for Aeris and how he really trusts Cloud. Not only that, it's also one of the lines that have paved way to Cleris.

I agree. "Take care of her" could also mean friendship if you think about it, but we all know what it means ^_^
