Title: Advent Children French Version
Description: i love it!

Daga15 - March 16, 2008 01:37 PM (GMT)
I have seen french version of advent children and i like a lot aeris voice! :D

And the translation as well...for example when cloud is at Zack's grave i love when he said:

I said i would live for both of us...but i think it will not be possible... ( because he think he is going to die)

And when he is going to the forgotten city and aerith is at his back i love her voice because in the other versions ( english, spanish, japanese..) well, her voice is soft but in the french one it seems that aeris is gigling as he talk with cloud, very, very cheerful...she said:

- Wow! you hace come...even if it is difficult for you to stand up...tell me...why you have come?

- I think i am searching forgiveness...yes, it is that what i am searching.

And aeris answered ( i love it!!:)

- ¿ Why? ¿ What you did??

And when tifa asked if they had been overcomed by a memorie, in the french one tifa asked:

Cloud...a memory is more important than us?

If you want i can put more..

I must say here that when Tifa says that line about the memory,in greek it's translated like :"Why do we have to get lost for a memory?"

And also when Tifa says that "Somehow,i knew you were there.Thank you.",it's translated like:"You never really left us,did you?"
Okay at this last one i was like

I can't find it in Greek version but here is the french one:

I forgot to mention that when cloud and aeris standed back to back, aeris( in the english version at least said: " Even if you are about to break. It's a good signe". In the French one it is translatd like:

- You are very brave ( i like how aeris liked to make cloud feel sure about himself).

And instead of: Zururururu ( Tifa to Cloud when he said he can not help anyone) it is translated like:

blablablaba.....blablablabla...

And when aeris said to cloud he never blamed him i like when she said:

I have never blamed you. Never. You came because you wanted to help me. And that is all it matters.

:P

GrecianGodess - March 16, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Oh they don't have greek voices,i'm talking about the translated subtitles. :)
And Aerith's line"I never blamed you.etc." it actually always sounded to me like"You cared for me" instead of "you came for me".
Cleris fangirlishness hits again!

And that about the "dilly dally" is translated like "*Aeris cries fakely for her death*Oh no how pityful for me.Why don't you forgive yourself?"

And later when Cloud says "I feel lighter...all that dily dallying." it's translated like "I feel better now,it was my purpose to drive me until the edge of the facts." or something like that if i remember right. :P

Aww Aerith makes him feel confident and sure again. :aeris:

This is so sweet! :fangirl: Aerith always manages to cheer Cloud up to matter what happens and help mend his broken heart whether it be from her touch or her love. :cleris:

blablablaba.....blablablabla...

Yes Tifa says :
"Gna gna gna gna" :D

It can be translated as "blah blah" (like "you can do nothing but talk") but it really shows that to Tifa's eyes Cloud is complaining!

And Aerith is gently teasing Cloud. These two girls have their own way to wake up Cloud ^_^

Oooh a strange thing. Here is the last part of the movie in French:

Aerith actually says to Cloud:
"See, things sort themselves out in the end...smile!"

And Cloud answers as usual "It's true...I'm not alone. Not anymore"

Daga15 - March 17, 2008 01:44 PM (GMT)
Thanks a lot for the translations!!! :P

In the beginning of the movie when Marlene talks to Denzel, instead of saying: where is Cloud?, he said: Marlene, how i am, how i look? ( something like this)
and the she adds talking to the aeris statue: please, don't take denzel away...i

t is proved that Marlene talks to aeris because in the end, before the batlle with sefirot, marlene is with denzel in the room and she feels her presence saying:

It is you?!

:P

I think Aeris voice is so sweet!!!!!!

I just watched the movie in french... er-- today... haha... I completely loved it. It seemed... I don't know, more touching. I didn't put subtitles on though :P I understand french and can speak it (intermediately... I watched all of 'La Vie en Rose' without the subs, anyway...) I think... it was more passionate. It actually made me cry vs. the english version where I didnt. and Aerith's voice was AWESOME. I also liked the deeper voice for Cloud... it was nice and different since the english and japanese weren't as deep. I'm a little bias, and I say, "Everything's better in french"... but yeah... also, if anyone noticed (I might just be super picky at this) The mouth movements matched with the french version better than the english version, which made me enjoy the movie even more because I wouldn't be lookin at their mouths going "That guys off..." or "Hey, that movement doesn't match with the word" But in the french version, everything seemed to... well... fit.

Hehehehe Yeah... =]

Oh I also liked Tifa and Yazoo's voices... Yazoo's sounded like the stereotypical french guy... I hoped they'd throw in one of those stereotypical french "Hyah hah hah!" laughs just for comedy :P

: D!

.....................is Cloud's voice sexy in the French version?

I want to watch it now, thanks. <3

 I didn't know this was considered as typically french =) especially the "Nyahaha"! Your description reminds me of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast ^^

As you must know most french people can't speak english properly lol ^^ so we usually dub every english or american movie in french. It makes a lot of movies to dub (lol) and they can practice a lot about mouth movements and all.
Besides I guess french dubbers are used to put some life and "passion" cause they're mostly actors or performers.

Rogue Galaxy-> A fruit? Interesting...To my POV I'd say that Cloud's french voice sounds like a smoothie...
