Thanks for AerithGainsborough who provided the scans. I found it interesting enough to share. It's a page from the magazine Famistu, published in 2004. The content was to introduce AC, but I can't stop fangirling cuz it's just quite Clerith to me. :cleris:

Cloud Strife
Age:23/ Blood Type:AB/ Birth:8/11
After the battle, Cloud secretly hid himself from others and lived alone. However, three mysterious youths popped up and attacked him, so once again, he returns. Before he finds out their purpose, Cloud was forced to take up the sword…..
PLAY BACK
Cloud:
Fight as a mercenary—an ex- SOLDIER.
Cloud was hired by an anti-Shinra group called Avalanche, he’s an ex-SOLDIER fighting against Shinra. The final battle comprehended a big destiny that questions the meaning of self existence. In the end, he defeated Sephiroth, who stands as his other self and the wall that he should stride across. And also, he saved the Planet.

The vision that forever lives in Cloud’s memory.

Age:?/ Blood Type:o/ Birth: 2/7
The girl who perished before Sephiroth’s murderous blade, Aerith. Now, a girl who looks much alike appears in front of Cloud. Is this a dream Cloud had…..?

Is there any possibility for her resurrection in this work?
Caption: There’re many pleadings of the wish for her resurrection—Aerith.

The last survivor of the Ancients saved the Planet at the cost of her life.
Aerith is the last remainder of a minor race, the Ancients. Therefore, Shinra was keeping an eye on her. Being her bodyguard, Cloud had a promise of protecting her. But he couldn’t stop Aerith’s sacrifice, her life in exchange for the chance of summoning Holy to prevent Sephyroth’s conjuring Metreo. And then, the story ended with the promise unfulfilled.
The female in pink appeared in front of Cloud
Is that really Aerith?
They leaned close to each other in the field with flowers blooming all over. It reminds us of the inside of the Church, where Aerith and Cloud first met. But it’s too dreamlike to have a sense of reality. So what exactly would it be?

Very Clerithy. And is there any mention of Tifa? I think not ;). Somehow I think people in Japan know Clerith was the intended pairing, at least that's how it seems to me.

AHH!!!! thank you for your translations! :3 I was actually arguing with a cloti, they were saying how there was no promise made between Cloud and Aerith with the whole bodyguard thing, and Cloud was simply being a gentleman. Also something about if he did promise, that promise becomes invalid when she dies. Looks like it just becomes an unfulfilled promise to me <3

Oh, just to remind you, Kaleta, it's fun to discuss Cleriths in all sorts of magazines/news/webpages, but mark that I simply placed "fandom" in my subtitle of this post. I think sources that go beyond official booklets or interviews should be labeled "fandom". :P

I actually remember seeing those scans right after AC was announced. ^_^ There was one that mentioned Cloud and Tifa's relationship. It stated that Tifa supported Cloud from the shadows, but that she knew Aerith was the one in his heart. Then it said "it looks like that sort of relationship". :lmao:

But it seems like most of them are from the same mag.And only a few are from other mags.
