Im really sorry if this is a weird topic and if its in the wrong place.But i tried to look for a topic like it,and since what im talking about has to do with Cloud and Aerith in FFVII Im putting it here.

Im pretty sure everyone of us own FFVII,right?
well If you look at the paper book that comes with the game the cover has Aerith on it,And the first person you see is Cloud on the "Contents" page.then you see a pic of midgar(bare with me),And then you see a pic of Barret on the "getting started"page.And then On the first character page you see Clouds profile and then Aerith's profile below his ,then Tifa,barret,ect.

And what it looks like the background picture for the book is the place right outside of where Aerith lives(pg 13-18).And then you see on the "field controls" page a CGI picture of Aerith.
you never see Tifa in a CGI picture only Cloud,Aerith.Barret,Caitsith,Yuffie,Red XIII,And then Sephiroth.
And at the very end of the paper book (pg47), you see Cloud,and Aerith standing near eachother,and a chocobo between Aerith and Tifa.Although Tifa is on the same page Tifa is the farthest away from Cloud.
But then we see a Japanese magazine that talked about AC (before it came out) and Cloud and Aeriths profiles are the first profiles you see and have Cloud and Aeriths profiles together.
And No SQ-EN didn't put the character profiles in alphabetical order either (as we can all tell) because it goes C,A,T,B,ect,ect.

And then we have the first game disc ,behind it is the picture of Aerith looking up at the HW.
Now to my point.
I notice that Aerith and Cloud are always seen in a mag,book,movie,ect together (on the same page) And I know Tifa has pictures with Cloud too but those are after Aerith is dead.
Aerith appears with Cloud in multiple pictures while she is alive and while she is dead.
And then if we look at FFX (i Could Be wrong...) Yuna and Tidus appear on the same page also.And they are the cannon couple.
Not only does Cloud and Aerith appear together in pictures but CloudxAerith Appear with SquallxRinoa in a coke Ad.Squall and Rinoa are also a cannon couple.
like so many Cloti's claim ,If Aerith and Cloud are NOT the cannon couple why did SQ-EN pair them up so much in the origional game guide??
and with other couples?

And if Tifa was supposed to be the girl Cloud "loves" why is she not with pics of Cloud when the game came out and why does CloudxTifa never appear with a cannon couple
(on the CGI pics) of Aerith ,Cloud,And Barret,they still show that the main THREE people of the game are Cloud ,Aerith ,And Barret.
Just like when FFVII never was supposed to have Tifa in it (as a big character)
Obviously the CGI pics show that even though Tifa was in the game that it was still focused on Cloud Aerith,and Barret .
Which means Aerith was still supposed to be Clouds Love interest durring FFVII.
And Tifa was supposed to be the person to just ad conflict (in the romance atleast).
And some people say that Aerith is not the heroine of FFVII and that Tifa is,If Tifa was the Heroine why does the game show Aerith Four times and Cloud Four times(on pics) with out one picture of Tifa untill page 49.
So obviously Aerith was always supposed to be the heroine and Cloud is the hero of course.And maybe the pictures all prove that Cloud and Aerith were indeed the true cannon couple of FFVII.

Yeah, you're right that the original game's manual appears to lean more toward Cleris and the two as being hero and heroine. I've noticed that Cleris has always been the promoted couple from the beginning when FFVII fans didn't exist. Even before the game was released, I always used to see Cloud and Aerith in playstation magazines(along with Barret and Red XIII). Tifa didn't start getting attention until years after the game was out. I think Tifa became more important due to the fans, especially those who believed Aerith was no longer important because of her death...but no, I've personally never believed Tifa was FFVII's intended main heroine. The central plot of FFVII, the fight to save the Planet, revolves around Cloud, Aerith, and Sephiroth. That's confirmed in the Ultimania Omega. It was also pretty much established when FFVII: International came out. Cloud was featured on the first disk, Aerith on the second, and Sephiroth on the third. Tifa was shown on the 4th disk along with the rest of the secondary cast(Avalanche). Nomura even said that he'd never meant for Tifa to replace Aerith as the main heroine. Though, nowadays, if anyone asks Nomura, he would most likely say that both girls are main heroines...just to please every fan, of course. :P

Oh and I pretty much agree with you, like HD said, there had been much proof that hints Clerith when FF7 first came out. I drown myself in digging old information/booklets right now, translating old but official stuffs from S-E, so this I can ensure you. ^_^

But my game booklet doesn't show any backgrounds to the pages, nor can i find the scenes said, in my booklet, i have the field controls page open, but no CGI of aerith o.o

The link you provided is a magazine scan, if I'm not mistaken. From way back prior to when Advent Children was officially released.

Anyway, in my FF7 game booklet for the PC version, Cloud and Aerith are on the same page as well.

What Game booklet do you have ,Girlllll??

Well for one, i have the booklet that has no background to any of the pages. The cover of my case has the words final fantasy VII with the picture of meteor at the background.

The very end of my book is the credits, before that tips on the beginning of the game, and before that, the vehicles and machine sections. The only pictures are Cloud on a Chocobo. No CGI's of anyone.

The game discs are boring as the same picture of meteor is on all three of them

Aerith, maybe you should post a picture of your booklet to avoid confusion and then maybe me or Kaleta can post ours. :huggle:

When I first went through it, it gave me this feeling that Aerith was a little bit more important than any other female character in the game...I do believe it was intended that way.

I also have the same booklet as you. In fact that is the official US one. ^_^

I also thought Aerith was the heroine since her character profile was after Cloud's. I also put that together since I had the FFX game booklet and it listed Yuna's profile after Tidus's. When I got FFXII, I also noticed that this pattern continued with Ashe's character profile being after Vaan's. They also do this for the sequel to FFXII, with Penelo's profile after Vaan's. If you have the Bradygames strategy guides you'll also notice this pattern from the FF2 guide on.

Nope. My disks are boring. They have the same pattern on all three. They have the words final fantasy VII and the picture of meteor behind it xD

All my final fantasy games have the logo at the front and the booklet xD And all the disks are just as boring. Except for 8 in which case actually has the pictures of the protagonists and the antagonists xD
