Title: The First Tsurugi
Description: answer truthfully.

If a thread has been made like this already, trash this one. Anyway:

I'm thinking. The First Tsurugi is Cloud's weapon in FFVII Advent Children, right?
There could also be symbolism there. (such a conspiracy theorist!)
The main blade could represent poor little Cloud, all alone without friends. How sad, but still strong.
But then, the others are there.
As you can see, the "Hollow Blade" could also mean Aerith. Or, if a Cloti is reading this, they may interpret it to be Tifa. In that case, stop reading and then close your browser.
Two back blades. Huh. Zack and Tifa, probably? Maybe.
Then the matter of the two small blades. Denzel. Marlene.
With all of them together, they make Cloud even stronger.
I rest my case.

wow...

Um, actually this is a misunderstanding. 'First tsurugi' means
'first sword' in japanese.

nomura was talking about the first sword that cloud drew against loz and yazoo in the first fight of the movie.

they don't have a name.

I can see this xD
cool Idea x)

But that' what I read. I know that First Tsurugi means First Sword in Nippongo (I prefer to call it properly). Anyway, the link is busted, I thought it would lead to my e-mail account.
Thanks to those who actually agree with me.

Actually if we were to get technical, sword would be "ken" in Japanese and "tsurugi" usually refers to broadsword styled swords in Japanese. Just wanted to say that. I don't really have any input in the Cloud is the main sword thing. But I do have a quick question... What would the symbolism of the main sword being able to expand and get bigger on its own?

It doesn't get bigger on its own, it gets help from the other blades.

No, the main sword can expand on it's own. It has two forms. The thin form when it gets pieced together with the other swords and a wider form.(I guess Cloud presses a button to do this.) If you need visual confirmation, you can see the wider form in Advent Children when Cloud points his sword at Rude after Reno got kicked out of the house, with Rufus cloaked in a wheelchair.

Or you can just look at this...

Oh, yeah. Button. I don't understand it either, if you hack through monsters with blood and flash in them in battle, won't the dirt get stuck inside as well? Quite illogical. Sorry for veering off topic.

EDIT: It could also be the button to automatically disassemble the sword so as to get the Omnislash v5, which is the third most ownage limitbreak ever.

Your theory makes a cool sort of sense with the five characters being Cloud's support.

I'm personally wondering where the sword came from. I mean, weapons like that aren't made every day, there's gotta be some awesome story behind its creation and how Cloud found it.
