I'm actually surprised that this pairing doesn't have a club yet! :blink: After all, Rude confesses he likes Tifa in FFVII and I'm pretty sure that he still likes her in AC. :D So join and feel free to share fics, graphics, and art. This pairing has always appealed to me. Rude's attraction to Tifa is already canon, so it's halfway there :). Besides which, I think they'd be an excellent match; they have a great deal in common. Rude never attacks her in the game, even if Tifa is the only one still standing in your party... he just says "..." and backs off. I suppose it's rather sweet... for a Turk. They are both excellent hand-to-hand fighters as well, I can imagine a rather interesting practice session for them ;).

Homai, I didn't notice this club before. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, TM! :huggle: I'd like to join! Love the idea of Tifa and Rude. They'd be really good for one another, and I think Rude would love her the way she deserves to be loved.

Another fanfic worth reading: Human Touch by Lirillith. It was the first Tifa/Rude fic I found, and I *heart* it.

But it's so cute when he does that! *is a sap* Which reminds me of a bit near the end of 'Human Touch' where Tifa notices a scar on Rude's chest and thinks that she'd probably given it to him when they fought. It was a really nice detail.

I'm always surprised when I see Tifa paired up with Reno, Rufus or... obviously... Cloud. Truly none of them really suit her. I'd have thought Rude x Tifa would be more popular than it is.

Rude pretty much worships the ground she walks on, if you read between the lines in the original game. So as far as canon goes, it's halfway there already.

While I have a greater love of ReTi, RuTi has always clung to my heart like an engorged tick. Here's artz!

Actually I'd like to have some serious discussions here. Ermm, I used to compare Rude with Cloud, who both share some basic elements in personality. Don't get me worng, I know they're extremely different, but I'm talking about some behaviors in general. For example, Rude is not talkative, sometimes clumsy when the conversation is about personal issues. He also tends to play nonchalant in front of ppl... But the main division is, Cloud seems to be more caught up with his own doing while I think Rude wouldn't. And Rude is also more romantic than Cloud (I remember BC tells a side story about Rude's tragic love affair; he said he feels even sadder in Christmas time becuz 'she' left at that day.)....
My point is, if Tifa would be irritated by Cloud's behavior of playing aloof (CoT), do you think she would find Rude be less annoying when those two are both share some basic element in personality? :)

I think the difference is.. Cloud is aloof from Tifa not just because of basic personality, but also because he just sees her as a friend and is confused by her desire for closeness. Rude, obviously, would prefer much more than that. I think if Rude & Tifa did get together, Rude would be aloof with everyone EXCEPT her. He'd worship her, in other words, which is precisely the kind of devotion Tifa needs and wants (and can't get from Cloud).

I think it's quite a difference between Rude and Cloud. Cloud has never in need of a romantic relationship (seems to be captive by his own issues more...at least in Game n' AC) while Rude welcomes a romance (BC tells us he once fell in love with a member from Avalanche). What's more, Rude would be more willing to let people know his good feelings for a girl, which can wipe off Tifa being insecure in relatinship. But I believe Cloud would just say "f*k off" to everyone who dare ask him "Which is it? Aerith or Tifa?", even if the questioner is Zack, Vincent or Barret. :P

Rude would be good for Tifa. It doesn't seem like this pairing is going to happen, but yeah, if Tifa ever sat down with Rude (and got him to say more than "...") I think they would really click.

I agree with TM, I think that although Rude is a 'strong silent' type, he would still be willing to discuss his feelings with the people closest to him. I mean, Reno asks him who he 'likes' in Gongaga, and he doesn't just say "None of your business!" but actually tells him. We don't know much about him, but as you said Chibica, he did welcome a romance in BC. I really think he would open up to Tifa and be willing to talk to her about things bothering him if she asked him to, whereas Cloud finds it hard, and that's one of the things that annoys Tifa about him.

Exactly. Though Rude isn't what one would call "in touch with his innermost feelings" he is at least aware of them on some level. Cloud has difficulty even understanding that he has feelings, even while pining over Aerith and his immense guilt. In other words, Cloud would have difficulty admitting his feelings even if he were alone with Aerith... Rude had no difficulty discussing his attraction to Tifa with the other Turks, and if the right opportunity presented itself, I have no doubt he would tell Tifa how he felt.. supposing they ever got together. If anything, thereafter Rude would probably worship Tifa, he seems to have that kind of intensity.
