Description: Wanna talk IV?

A thread for all things FFIV!

I can't think of much to say about IV right, but if anyone wants to discuss any aspect of the game, this is the thread for you! :D

I loved FFIV. I've played every version of it, both the Japanese fan translated version, the first American version, and the Chronicles version. FFIV had a beautiful storyline, and it was like an older version of FFVIII. I even transcribed every line said in the Japanese version until my dad deleted my transcription. That game was so fun and had so many memories.

I loved IV, too. It was the 3rd FF game I played after VII and V. The old-school FF's will always have a special place in my heart because they were my initiation into the world of Final Fantasy (VII being my introduction, of course). It was a great game; fun and long-lasting, and probably the first proper FF game, too.

Who was your favourite character? ^_^

I was going to start a thread about this game and then I found this. I am sad only a few comments were made about this game. It came up for me again after seeing MoonMix's fanart with drawings of Rydia. I was so excited to see artwork of her, the first labeled summoner of the FF series to be given a name and personality. As far as a favorite character...it is a toss up between Cecil and Rydia, i like them both so much.

As for parts of the game that I really liked *Spoilers*

I really love the land of the summoners and when they get to the moon. I also love Cecil's transformation througout the game. It appeas this game is an underrated gem, I highly recommend this game, it has a great story and loveable characters and for me it was where the series really startd showing off their story writing abilities. It is a really great game. And if I am not mistaken this is the first game where Cid becomes a true factor in the series, he is alot of fun. If you ever have a chace please give this game a chance.

Good ol' classic Final Fantasy IV. This will always be the best classic Final Fantasy game i've ever played. Did you check out Final Fantasy IV Advance? I was full of joy with all the new stuff in it. :fanboy:

I believe I have, this is where they rewrote dialogue and didn't they put in a new dungeon correct? Sorry I don't remember it being called that. It was great that they reintroduced it to a new crowd. I was very excited when it came out. I still can't get over how it appears that so many peole have not played this one in the series, it seems wrong that people are missing out on this game. :(

Wow I didn't know there were so many versions out! Where did you find them? Were there many changes in the dialogue in the japanese fan translation, and is it closer to the original (cuz if it's a fan translation, I'm not sure whether they're pretty much sticking with the original script or if they're adding their own flavour). Please let me know; I'd love to play it on my cpu during the last couple weeks of freedom I have left this summer :D

*sigh, it's too bad such a great game has such a small fanbase.

I think there are 4 versions of FF4; The original, FF2, FFIV for the PS1 and FFIV advanced. I'm trying to find the time to beat the SNES and GBA version. ^_^.

I think this is my favourite FF of all time (currently battling it out with FF7, cause the sequels are killing FF7 for me...) because of the amazing storyline it had that just kept me wanting to play more of it. I loved the whole 'time travels faster in the Land of Summons' thing and how Rydia grew older. In addition to AerisBolts' comment, I too like Rydia alot, alongside tied with Kain.

Although, Kain is the worst dragoon I ever seen. What can he do? Attack, Jump and use items. I'll bet Dart would murder Kain in a flameshot. I still love Kain, though. :P

Oh...and Tellah saying "You spoony bard!" is just :lmao:

If you wanna talk about IV, I should introduce you to my sister. She LOVES that game. Almost a little too much. She'll talk to you about it so much that you'll end up almost hating the game. Even though our SNES has been put away for years, she still holds on to the original game when it was titled II.

We recently just played the game together. On the PS1 verision you can put it on multiplayer. She always got Cecil, and Rydia, and I always got Rosa, Kain, and we would altnerate wit turns with the last character. She ended up taking Edge though because I apperantly wasn't that good with him.

It was fun though. We would do voices for the characters when they would speak and some of them got rather... interesting.

I think we're going to play VI next.

Don't underestimate Kain.

Back in the day, Kain's Airborne invincibility was the most useful thing in the world, if you could time it right.

You see, Kain's jump was a vital lifesaver when fighting Odin, Bahamut, or both. Because he'd NOT be on the screen when Megaflare or Zantetsuken went off. And if he's not on the screen, he survives the attack.

I love ff4 I played it on the snes I thought it was a very good game. The place your could travel to the underworld. you cloud even go to the moon at the end of the game. You could even get Bahamut when you go to the moon. He is the strongest summons in the game.
