Title: Whatever Happened To Cloud?

Tifa Lockheart - October 28, 2004 03:24 PM (GMT)
Dirge of Cerberus takes place a year after Advent Children.
How come Vincent is the main playable character now? Whatever happened to Cloud? Did he die in Advent Children that's why Vincent's the lead now... or it's just simply because Vincent is the second most popular playable character in Final Fantasy 7 that's why the producers decided to give him the spotlight for this game? ;) What do you guys think, huh? :P

I really think it was because Vincent's so freakin' popular. However, Square will probably work something out invovling Cloud. Like, he'll either have died(likely)or settled down somehow and refuses to fight anymore(less likely)

Who knows, we may see Cloud in DC, or maybe even get to play as him :).
I hope they do that.

I think Vinnie's the main character because Cloud dies at the end of AC. It'd break my heart and make me happy at the same time if he did die, because he'd be reunited with Aerith, but still... *sniffle* Well, death didn't exactly stop Auron, Aerith and Seph from showing up in other games anyway. And there's always KH. I'm glad Cait Sith's featured in DoC - I always liked Reeve.

Anastar - October 30, 2004 02:52 PM (GMT)
I'd hate for Cloud to die... at the same time, if that's the only way he can be with Aerith, then I'm all for it. There seems to be a large number of "Cloud must die!" supporters amongst us. But yeah... death hasn't kept other FF characters from returning in other games, so why not? At any rate, I'm wondering if we haven't seen anything of Cloud in DC because he dies in AC, too. Then again, the only other FFVII character we've seen in the game is Reeve/Cait Sith... isn't it?

I'm glad to see Reeve in it, too. He's always been my favorite Turk, and I was sorry he wasn't included in AC.

Aerith - October 30, 2004 02:56 PM (GMT)
Gosh, I hope he's dead :P.

Seriously, I love Cloud, but I'm a huuge Cleris fan, so in order for him to be reunited with her possibly, he needs to die :'( it'll be another way of me crying.BWAHAHAHA!

I am thinking that for each game that's announced for the compilation, that there will be another main character o.O..

It's either Cloud is dead, or still living in denial in a cave somewhere a la Lucrecia.

No, I think they made the game because Vinny is popular. I think he's saving Nibelheim there, right? Maybe the reason why Cloud isn't a main character anymore is that he's stopped caring about the world so much. Maybe Square will throw him in there somewhere on a side quest or something.

But I'd prefer it if Cloud is dead and existing happily with Aerith in the flower field... humming Moon Shadow. Eheh~ ;)

I totally agree. I'd hate for Cloud to die too...but if that's the only way...then alright! Ditto to what everyone else said--'cause Vincent is popular. But is it confirmed that Cloud is going to die at the end of AC???

Nope, it is just speculation at this point. :P The CloTi's main arguement against Cloud dying is that it was said that this movie is about "survival". However, this doesn't necessarily mean CLOUD'S survival, it could be referring to the children. Aerith, the very symbol of life, died in FFVII, in order that others might live. Cloud, the hero, might die in order for others to survive. Wouldn't that be neat if they found a way for Cloud to sacrifice himself to save the children? It would be sad, but neat...

Yes. A sacrifice where he felt that he could entirely wash away his guilt. I think that'd be very touching. He found that since he sacrificed himself to save the children, that now he was at peace--now he could forgive himself--he was able to protect and all that...And the AC video would end with Cloud and Aerith reuniting... :D

I find it fascinating how Cloud is not the main character in this game. Just think about what they can do with him now that we silly players do not control him. So they do not need to explain every action Cloud does in that game and he can truly surprise us in a way he could not in FFVII. I'm sure Cloud is in the game, but who knows in what way or form. But nothing would interest me more than to meet Cloudie-poo several times in the course of the game while trying to figure out what on earth he is doing. I want to see him as a changed man, so I am hoping that something wil happen in AC that will truly change Cloud, hopefully for the worse. As we know, happy people aren't interesting as it's the depressed and crazy ones that truly stir our imagination. ^_^

I love Vincent so I am definately playing this game.

I love Cloud a million times more but I too hope he dies. Just so he is at peace finally after a hard life. As long as he is happy in the end. So I hope Cloud is talked about in DC if he does.

Tifa Lockheart - November 4, 2004 07:14 AM (GMT)
To be honest with you guys... I hope Cloud really dies... to end his "suffering". Kyah... <_<

Starlight Night - May 21, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
I don't really know what happened to Cloud. As others have said, I hope that we get to see him in DoC. If not, I'm happy anyway. He was a cool character and everything. I just think that he needs some time to himself. Either that or he died and is with Aeris. *thinks* Aww look at the cute couple. ANYWAYS!

I think that Vincent is the main character because he was the next popular. Don't get me wrong, I had my share of faves in FF7. Cloud, Sephiroth, Reno and Vincent himself, but that's just what I think.

Clorith - May 22, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
Hell yeah! I hope Cloudie-poo dies!!

I say, this calls for a club! :woot: If no one's starting one, I will. :P

Good thought, Clorith - a Cloud's Death Club!! :lmao: I'll join!

Ye know, even if Cloud survives and is in DoC, Square will never show us before the release of AC. That's the biggest thing they want us to keep guessing about, so it'd be too big of a spoiler for them to show us Cloud in DoC.

Whether or not Cloud survives, he'll prolly make an appearance of some sort in DoC - maybe in a flashback or something. At the very least, he'll be mentioned in it.

yin-chan - May 23, 2005 01:02 PM (GMT)
Maybe they're gonna concentrate more on Vincent's story instead of always focusing on cloud.
i havent done my research on DOC but maybe the part of the story will be important to find out more about vincent's life, like maybe something to do with his past which he needs to find out more about in doc...thats got nothing to do with cloud and the others. O_O
thats my two cents worth. but its probably not gonna turn out like that anyway >.<

and yea...it would be heartbreaking if cloud died... T___T I dont think aerith would want him to die!!! but it would be beautiful if they could get together again. *^__^*
