Title: 3d Aerith
Description: Need some opinions
TheMachine - January 12, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
I'm building Aerith in Poser & Maya, and need some opinions on the work so far. Please note that this is nowhere even close to completion, but I am trying to nail down facial features and structure now before moving on to building the meshes for clothing and details like the bow, materia, background, etc...
So, tear my work apart and let me know what might improve the 3D model, especially the face, and make it more realistic and er... Aerithy.

Oooh, yay, I love the front hair pieces, the way they come up looks really cool! ^^ As for suggestions to make it better? Hmm, well I think I can help maybe, I think that Aerith's face could be more full, like more roundish looking. ^^ Hope that helps! ^^

Adjusted slightly (you may need a refresh). Rounded the cheeks more, adjusted the chin, adjusted the braids slightly and changed up the lighting.

Oooh, it's quite lovely! The only thing is, when I saw the face, I thought it looked sort of masculine. O:
Perhaps soften the nose? It's very sharp and pinchy for an Aerith nose, and makes her face look skeletal. : D
Hmmm, I think her shoulder curls could be longer, and maybe less tight. <3
But other than that, I don't see much besides awesomeness! Keep up the great work! D:

Indeed. I will soften the cheeks more, and the nose. The shoulder curls I will adjust as well :). Thanks!
I will update tomorrow evening :).

Wow, that's a really great 3D model! I think Aerith's face isn't quite as long as that, so maybe make her chin a little less strong, and her forehead a little shorter? Oh and her hair and skin should be a shade lighter. Again, amazing!

It might just be me, but the hair looks like it's a bit too dark. I agree with the others who said that her nose was too sharp. Other than that, it looks good. :D

I know Lute said to soften the nose, but I think you did it a bit too much. From this angle anyway. I think her hair should be a lighter shade of brown. But otherwise it's very good! :gift:

Fix the nose, shorten the face, lessen the strong features of the jaw to avoid making her look manly.

The forehead is a little too big... you need to layer the bangs a bit more, the nose looks pretty good :) I think its looking really good so far :) The jaw is a little too.. sharp... But other than that it looks awesome :) Also her eyes should be a shade or 2 darker

This is really good so far! ^_^
I think her nose shouldn't be so pointy. Also, her face needs to be less long and more round. She has a heart-shaped face, and it's not as square as the one you have now. With a bit of work, it should look great.

Much better facial structure this time around. Also keep the advice coming, I've incorporated almost everything mentioned in this thread so far :). Thanks for the help!

Wooow!! Since I just talked to you about it (teehee) you know I like it a lot! I'd make the hair slightly lighter though, just a touch. Perhaps a little darker green on the eyes. I will be excited to see it when it's finished!

I think you should do something about the lips. Especially the upper lip is too...err...bold. And is it just me, or does the nose look a bit funny? Her neck is a bit too long, imo. Are you going to do something to the ear? It looks a bit plain.

Current version, #93
Lol... I still hate it. But I'm done with it for the night, I'll try again tomorrow ;p. Someday I'll get this right. Yeah... Right... :)

Also, a sig done with it (dunno if I'll actually use it though):
MistaCloudStrife - January 19, 2008 08:43 AM (GMT)
Very nice. I think you've got the nose pretty close now. There's just something about the lips. When I cover the mouth area with my finger, I think it's pretty darn close to perfection.
Clorith - January 19, 2008 02:20 PM (GMT)
Yay, it's looks just about there! Haha let me tell you a trick that works with all my attempts at fanart. Just cover her face with lots of hair! :giggle: Yup, so just give her a lot more fringe around her cheeks (see forum banner above), make her curls larger and more bouncy, and I think it'll be pretty perfect! :pro:

Sorry I'm damn slow to see this thread~~
Wahuuuuu~~your fanarz at picturing 3D Aerith is amazing!! :woot: :woot: And I like the last one ver much!! :gift:
The best part would be the shape of her face I guess <33; her hair is fine, but I still can see her scalp...0_0; But overall I adore this one very much!!! You totally major 3D fanarts! *claps*
Oh....would you mind have her wear...something? Urmm, just a little something that could erase my shyness when I look at her?

I will add the clothing once I complete the base model, lol. I've actually been working on the mesh for her dress lately, but eh.. women's clothing = hard to create X_x. Thanks for the kind words!
kuri-chan - February 7, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
This is so cool, I can't believe people can make things like this! It seems like it takes a looot of patience! O_O Very awesome, I like it a lot.
Alan Bates - February 15, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
The hair looks a tad too dark and stringy. if possible it needs to be a bit lighter in color and thicker.
TheMachine - February 20, 2008 01:23 PM (GMT)

Trying to build the dress... mostly failing. Gah, building meshes of women's clothing is HARD! Anyway, this is the latest incarnation... *goes back to work on it*

One more version.. dress much improved but still not right.

Looks good so far, but the second pic, her dress seems to be too bright for her. It might just be me though. It looks good!
