I rewatched the Crisis Core Clips again. And again. And again. :unsure:

Out of the Zerith relationship, who was actually the one more serious about the whole thing? At first, to me, it seemed to be Aerith. She showed signs of wishing to see him again, took quite a profound interest in Zack, and offered love and support at a time when Zack Fair found it lacking in his universe. Not to mention her letters.
I think she was in love with him, or extremely attached, to say the least. (Please take into account the "past tense.")

For Zack, I do believe the feelings were mutual. However, I don't think he realised how special Aerith actually was to him. He find her company an welcome escape from the pressures of a Soldier's life, a type of warmth and security which he, unaware, possibly took for granted.

As the horrible events of his life panned out and he finds himself alone in a room with a comatose Cloud, he finds the list of Luxeries which Aerith had given them at their last meeting. Recalling his promise to return to her, (this is part of the phone conversation whilst in Cloud's Hometown) along with the memories of their previous goodbye sends up a spark in his heart, and he suddenly found himself craving that warmth and stablity, which he had only previously found in the flower girl, seeing as his life had been a madhouse in recent years, that is what he needed. Something stable and loving.
He annouces to Cloud he has to go to Midgar, to reunite with Aerith.

As we all know, that didn't exactly happen. He expresses his desire to return to her on several occasions, even screaming out to the sky for her to wait for him after finding her last letter. As he dies, his final thoughts are of Aerith. He then tells his friend Cloud (in his head anyway) to look after Aerith, if he ever meets her.

You see, I believe at the end Zack was the serious one. He seriously missed her and went though everything to see the flowergirl again. I think he loved her, right up until his death, and even after death. The guy had been floating in a Mako tank for five years, so I doubt his feelings had changed since he was in a comatose state himself it seems. Aerith's feelings however, are a different story.

Opinions? Did he continue loving her after death? Who do you think was the serious one?

I would have to say none. Because both of them didnt really take it that seriously and weren't really all that bothered. But both Aerith and Zack still care for each other very much, but in more of a friendly way, or brother and sister if you like.

But i really like how Zack was still very thoughtful about Aerith in Maiden, and kinda teased her about their relationship, specially in the end where Zack tells Aerith that the finishing Cloud used was his technique, maybe trying to win her heart xD And how Aerith thought very much of Zack even after five years, was also very sweet.

It was mentioned in the CC Ultimania that aerithlove wonderfully translated that Aerith was hinted getting tired at Zack's lack of seriousness in their relationship (and it didn't help he was actively dating/flirting with other women).

Regardless though... Zack remembers Aerith the most in the end, so maybe if the circumstances were different, something might have happened.

Talking about seriousness.. I have this idea about their love relationship..

IMO, both Aerith and Zack were serious about their relationship when they still meeting each other.. Aside from the tragedy in the end of CC which was made them separated, I think it's all about compatibility.. They are so similar, that's why it wasn't working for them..

Their love relationship shown that most of the time, opposite attracts is important to make the relationship naturally balanced, therefore, it lasting forever..

Zack and Aerith are both extrovert.. So naturally, most of the time they being so playful to each other.. For a result, both think that they aren't serious about their relationship, in front of each other, even though deep inside their hearts, they're so serious about the relationship..

See? The sad thing is, Zack only realized Aerith was so serious about their relationship after he read Aerith's letter of her 23 wishes(that combined into 1 wish), when this happened, it was already too late, becuse, after this,came the tragedy in the end of CC.. Worse, when they meet again in the lifestream, Aerith is already loves Cloud..
And the sadder thing is, Aerith didn't even realized about Zack's.. Even when they later meet in the lifestream(as stated in MoTP), Zack's still behaves as playful flirty guy.. :ermm:

I hate to say this, but this is also happen to Cloud and Tifa.. They both introvert, just keep their feeling of each other in their heart, afraid to telling each other about it.. However, their feelings happened on the wrong time.. Cloud had a crush on Tifa when they are a little teenagers, and Tifa grows affection to Cloud after Cloud went to Midgar, claimed to be a soldier.. When she had a chance to talking about that, unfortunately, it's too late for her, Cloud already has a feeling to/loves Aerith..

But before I read what she wrote, I thought that they were both serious at first but they're young when they started out with their relationship. Absence is supposed to make the heart grow fonder, they say, but in the case of Aerith and Zack, I think it just made things dwindle between them. Eventually the equality lessened as time went by, enough for me to think that Aerith finally got tired of waiting for him to return--that by the time Zack wanted to come back, it was too late (?). :dunno:

As for Zack, I'm sure he cared about Aerith so much but there are other unavoidable circumstances that caused him to be flighty instead choosing to remain by her side.

I think they were both serious about it. Both were in love and canon :) and I think both of them really loved eachother. And in FF7 you can tell Aeris has still not gotten over Zack. Plus she's drawn to Cloud cause she sees the Zack in him.

I really think they're both so happy and in heaven together right now ^^. I'm just glad these love birds are finally together again <3

ainechan, I understand that you are a Zeris fan. However, at the same time, a lot of your statements have pretty much been proven wrong. Your attitude makes me feel as if you are trying to draw the ClAeris fans here into a debate. If that is your intention, then you can go to The Northern Crater.

Also, please keep in mind the rules of this forum. We strongly believe that Aerith loved Cloud, realizing fully well that he was nothing like Zack.

Well, Zeris is canon. :P I am not denying that at all. I don't mind Zeris a bit as long as people keep in mind that it was only canon in the past. The problem I have is when people start making statements such as "Aerith never loved Cloud, she only loved the Zack in him". That is a direct violation of the forum rules.

Yes, Aerith clearly wasn't over Zack at all, and was still in love with him. ^_~
