Title: Limited Moon
Description: The Nanaki Fanclub!

Kaldea - February 18, 2005 05:45 AM (GMT)
I KNOW I'm not the only one who loves Nanaki and thinks his character is so awesome! So here's the place to talk about him!

I named this club after his ultimate weapon, which is such a cool name to me (I even got the domain name). So wonder no more!

Anyway, to join this club you have to like Nanaki (duh) and appreciate his character. Down with people who hate non-humans! Nanaki is an intelligent creature with a kind heart and he knows how to look mean when he wants to. ^_^

So join up!

EEP! O.O

Please don't glare in my general direction! :(

Sure I'll join! Nanaki is another character who doesn't get the attention and credit he deserves! And yes, he does have a very kind and thoughtful soul, that is sadly overlooked.

Kaldea - February 21, 2005 12:03 AM (GMT)
Wee! Welcome!

For once my signature intimidates! Bwahaha!

Marionette - February 21, 2005 03:21 AM (GMT)
I like to join. Poor Nanaki he deserves more attention and love. Perhaps I'll post some fan art I found of him later on I'm a lttle lazy right now. XD

Kaldea - February 21, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
Yay! Welcome Marionette!

I'll have to post some too! He is so cool looking. ^_^

Anastar - February 21, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)
I adore Nanaki and Bugenhagen! I was hoping that Bugenhagen would at least get a flashback in AC. We haven't seen much of Nanaki in AC, either, which I find disappointing. He's one of my fav FFVII characters.

Sign me up! :D

Kaldea - February 21, 2005 04:46 PM (GMT)
Awesome! Welcome!

I especially hope that Bugenhagen's space laboratory thing will make an appearance in AC! The music during that scene in FFVII was so pretty...

*Hugs her FFVII Soundtrack*

Anastar - February 21, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
I remember one hint in a Japanese magazine saying that Cosmo Canyon may be in AC. I think it was pure speculation, though. It would be neat to see the observatory in AC.

One AC screenshot showed some monsters running on the ground, and they looked a helluva lot like Nanaki. When the magazine showed that picture, however, the insinuation was that the monsters had something to do with the SHM. People were speculating about the appearance of Nanaki's mate when they saw that photo. I'm not sure whether they were the same creatures attacking Midgar or not.

Kaldea - February 21, 2005 06:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah... The monsters looked more like evil, metallic versions of Nanaki. But I think they are only monsters...

I found this picture on an image search and I just loved the idea of it. I can really see Nanaki and Aeris having some kind of bond between them. ^_^

Awwww.... that's sweet! :D I've always liked this one of Aerith and Nanaki:

Kaldea - February 21, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
Aww! *Saves* So cute!

I love how Nanaki has both a sweet and a ferocious side. And with his personality, it's hard not to wonder what he would be like as a human. ^_^

Anastar - February 22, 2005 02:16 PM (GMT)
I can't wait to see how he's incorporated into AC. I doubt they'll just have him in fight scenes. He's bound to have some insight on Geostigma's effect on the Planet and the Lifestream. Cosmo Canyon could easily be worked into the story since there's something happening with the Planet and Lifestream, too.

I'm far more interested in seeing such aspects worked into the story than seeing anything with the Turks. Sorry to those who love the Turks, but I find Cosmo Canyon, Nanaki, Bugenhagen, and others like Elmyra and Ifalna way more interesting. I'd rather see them used in the story.

Same with me! I would be much more interested in the story if it had more on them and Cosmo Canyon. Cloud should at least visit once and see what he can find out there.

And I wanna see Nanaki talk instead of just attacking some monsters!

Me, too!! I'm far more interested in seeing Cloud go to Cosmo Canyon and figure out what's going on with the Lifestream than seeing Rude and Reno punch it out with Yazoo and Loz. I'd like to see Nanaki have flashbacks of Bugenhagen and work in the Cosmo Canyon observatory on finding the cause of Geostigma. If they just use Nanaki in fight scenes, Square will be cutting the importance of his character in the events of the movie.

I'd also love to see Cloud visiting Elmyra and talking about Aerith, as well as visiting Elmyra's house in Sector 5. It'd be so touching if Cloud would do that, and I'd much rather see Elmyra's house and Aerith's garden than a remodelled Seventh Heaven. Elmyra is a logical choice to be taking care of the orphans.

Kaldea - February 22, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
Yeah. I think if Square really wants to put on a visual performance, they should include at least one trip to the observatory. And use the same music for a bigger impact on the FFVII gamer. I'd love to see Cloud and Nanaki talking and remembering things there too. Especially Aeris.

Anastar - February 23, 2005 12:52 AM (GMT)
Well, Nanaki is their link to the Planetary research done in Cosmo Canyon, so it would make sense to draw him into the plot by having him look into what's happening to the Lifestream. A trip to the observatory would be very cool.

If Cloud talks to anyone about Aerith, though, I'd think that he'd talk to Vincent. Since Cloud brought up forgiveness to Vincent, he obviously thinks that Vincent understands. I could also see Cloud bringing up Aerith to Elmyra, but it doesn't look like she'll be in it. :(

Kaldea - February 23, 2005 05:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah... A lot of characters won't be in it unless they get some slight cameo appearances. Or even have their names mentioned. What would be funny is if Priscilla was in it and she still wanted to marry Cloud.

I hope Nanaki has AT LEAST a battle scene for himself. Like him against one of the silver haired men or something. He needs some movie time to show off for himself. ^_^

Anastar - February 23, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
IF there's any cameo appearances in AC, I'm hoping for Bugenhagen and Elmyra. I want to see Cloud visiting Elmyra at her house and talking with her about Aerith. Elmyra's house isn't that far from the Church, so I was thinking that he'd most likely go there... it doesn't look like it now, though. :(

If nothing else, I hope they'll picture the faces of other characters during the credits roll. I'd love to see AC renderings of Elmyra, Bugenhagen, Ifalna, Lucrecia, Tseng, Reeve, Shera, and other characters not included in AC during the credits roll.

Nanaki's in that one fight scene with Bahamut, but I hope he has more of a role in the story than that. We've seen so little of Nanaki, Cid, Yuffie, and Barret as well as Aerith. Why? That really bugs me. I'm far more interested in those characters than I am in the Turks and Tifa. <_<

Kaldea - February 25, 2005 03:45 AM (GMT)
So am I. <_<

But who knows. Apparently there are gonna be extras on the DVD and maybe more on the cooler characters will be there. ^_^

You think so?!? :o I hope there will be!!

I haven't heard them say anything definite about that yet, though. I've only heard speculation. There's so many other characters I wanna see!

I could also go for seeing Squall in AC renderings *drool*... so what if he has nothing to do with FFVII? I'm not picky.

Kaldea - February 25, 2005 05:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Nomura said he was excited about being able to add bonus stuff to the DVD. I forgot which quote though.

And Squall is quite realistic already! If he got anymore real, I would faint.

Anastar - February 26, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
If they don't actually go to Cosmo Canyon, I'm going to be disappointed if they don't at least put in some sequences with Nanaki discussing what's happening with the Lifestream. Besides Aerith, there's no other member of Cloud's party who knows more about the Lifestream... but Nanaki's also had the background of growing up in Cosmo Canyon where the Planetary effects of the Lifestream were studied in Bugenhagen's observatory. They really ought to draw Nanaki into the story that way.

Something tells me that Vincent's been studying the effects of Geostigma on his own, though.

Kaldea - February 27, 2005 03:13 AM (GMT)
I'm surprised they haven't given the idea that Nanaki knows more about this kind of thing instead of Vincent. Other than the fact that Vincent would know about this from earlier Shinra studies, it would just make more sense if it was Nanaki who would be talking about it. He knows more about the planet since he listened to Bugenhagen all his life.

Anastar - February 27, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
Yeah, exactly. They should really draw Nanaki into the story that way, and I'll be disappointed if they don't. They'd be ignoring Nanaki's whole background in Cosmo Canyon and his relationship with Bugenhagen if they don't include it.

The only way I see it possible for Vincent to know about the effects of Geostigma rather than Nanaki is if it ties in somehow with the Turks or with earlier studies done by Shinra and/or Hojo. I get that feeling because BC is subtitled "The secret of the Turks" and DC stars Vincent. That implies to me that the Turks were up to something earlier which affects the Planet in AC. In DC, Vincent goes on a personal mission to resolve what the Turks were doing once and for all.

Kaldea - February 27, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)
Yeah, in FFVII the Turks weren't really all that important. And now with BC, AC and DC, it seems like they are extremely important. The story of FFVII has turned around quite a bit.

That also gives more credit to Nanaki as well though. He was used as a test specimen for Hojo and maybe he could know more about this situation as well as Vincent. I guess Vincent would know more though since he was an actual employee.

~Fury Brand~ - February 27, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
Could I join please Cloud's Girl? :) I've always really liked Nanaki, he seemed so wise and the way he howled under Seto and at Aerith's death was so touching. He's also quite a useful party member with the abilities to drain health and mana from the enemy and to cast Haste and raise stats :)

I also agree with you Aly about being more interested in people like Nanaki, Bugenhagen, Elmyra and Ilfana than the Turks, I'd be more interested in finding out more about them too than the Turks. Not that I dislike the Turks, they're pretty cool but I just find the others more in depth and interesting characters :)

Kaldea - February 27, 2005 05:15 PM (GMT)
Sure you can! Welcome!

Oddishness - February 28, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
May I join? Nanaki is my FAVORITE character in FF7 (followed by Cloud and Aerith :D ), and is one of my favorite video game characters in general. He is so wise, but he is so cool... I love him to death! :huggle: Plus he kicks total butt in battle...

Kaldea - February 28, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
Yep yep! Welcome Oddishness!

Anastar - March 1, 2005 02:16 PM (GMT)
I wonder if they'll put anything in AC to show us where Nanaki's mate came from? He prolly won't meet her in AC, since his pups aren't born til 500 years later - but perhaps we'll learn where he finds other members of his race? I hope they at least give us a hint about that.

Kaldea - March 1, 2005 04:39 PM (GMT)
That would be awesome. I would love to see another of his kind though! Especially in AC graphics.

And with that in mind, I REALLY hope Nanaki will show up in DC. We already know he lives past AC. It would be so awesome being able to fight with both Vincent and Nanaki with DC's battle system.

Anastar - March 2, 2005 03:41 AM (GMT)
There was one screenshot shown of monsters that looked somewhat like members of Nanaki's race. There was just the one screenshot, though, and the Japanese magazine that carried it said that they were monsters. I wonder?

user posted image

That's a great idea about Nanaki being in DC! It'd make perfect sense with Nanaki being alive 500 years later! I hope they do that! :D

Kaldea - March 2, 2005 06:55 PM (GMT)
They really look like monsters to me. They don't have Nanaki's "softness". And creatures like that do attack people in Midgar (with Cid swinging at them and stuff). But yeah, they do have an evil look to them.

It would be so cool playing as Nanaki for a bit even in an action/adventure game. And maybe Nanaki could be computer controlled while you control Vincent and they can both fight together.

The ones in Midgar have wings and they're flying, though. I can't see wings on these. And yes, the ones in Midgar look like evil monsters... but they still look similar to Nanaki's race and may be related to his race. If the race is intelligent, isn't it possible that some members of the race become civilized like Nanaki?

addy me i love nanaki 2! hes so cute!
i wish i had a pet like him.....

Sure miracle_angel! Welcome! ^_^

Ye know, Nanaki wasn't added to the character list on Square's AC website along with the WCM and Aerith. That makes me think that Square's wanting to be very secretive about Aerith's role in the movie along with the WCM. But why wouldn't they put Nanaki in?

Kaldea - March 7, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
Weird. Either they are too busy to add more info for now, they could still be sorting out his role in the story, or he may not have a big role after all. :(

Hyper-Ballad - March 8, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
It's all the pretty-boys' fault. They absorb all the attention like a sponge.

But I would love to see Nanaki given an important role. I mean, despite being marginalised in the game, he really came through in the ending sequence. I'd love to see him given a prominent role!

Anastar - March 8, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
Nanaki could really be worked into the story easily. CG and I were talking earlier about how since Geostigma is effecting the Planet through the Lifestream, it's only logical that Nanaki be involved in figuring out the effects on the Planet and the Lifestream. One Japanese magazine did say something about Cosmo Canyon *possibly* being in the movie, but nothing else was said. Ye never know - the Northern Crater's in the movie, but we've yet to see anything of it.
