Okay, so I want KH. However I know exactly what my girlfriend would say if she caught me with it. I can just hear it now "Oh.. my... God... are you gay? Disney? And Final Fantasy... gah it's bad enough you play that Final Fantasy crap when I'm not around, but THIS?!?! You are so immature! Those games are stupid!"

Nonetheless I would still like to play it, any ideas how I can get around this besides hiding the game and only using it when I absolutely know she won't be home?

Just buy it and play it in your own time - she should accept that you have your own hobbies and interests and respect that. Also, KH really isn't that bad - sure it's Disney but the story and original characters are intriguing enough to make it not appear too kiddy. Hey, it's kinda cute - maybe she'll like it too. :)

I'm not entirely sure this thread is supposed to be here...as it seems to me that you're more after advice about how to not irk your girlfriend as opposed to actual advice about the game itself. I'll move this to General Chat for now but if any of the other mods think this is fine here, it can be moved back. :)

She should accept that I have my own hobbies... and for the most part she does. When I want to go paintballing, okay, no problem. When I want to renovate my house, okay.. no problem. In other words anything that is exceptionally masculine is perfectly okay. Even video games, though she doesn't like them, she usually accepts them if they are first person shooters like Quake Wars or Doom 3. But Final Fantasy to her borders on "kiddy, immature and gay" and if Final Fantasy is bad in her mind... I can't imagine how she would react to KH. And somehow she manages to embarrass me and make me feel like an idiot for liking FF.

Oh, hell no. o.O;; I dunno exactly what you should do since I don't really know your girlfriends personality, but if my friends or anyone were to say anything like that I'd probably just give some sarcastic remark or action and not let it bother me.

"See this letter?? Know what this letter stands for?? It's E. And it stands for, guess what?? .....Everybody!!" O.O

But this probably won't work in your case, sooo... Maybe get her a present, perhaps some flowers or something equally afforable to use as a sort of weapon when the time comes for it. When she sees you play and you , just say "Hey baby, go check the [**insert hiding place for present here**], I got you something." It might not exactly completely get her not to say bad things about the game or the gamer, but hey, who's going to want to talk sh*t when they're in a good mood? =P Just make sure the present is one that would make her happy. I'm guessing you should know of one. =P

And if all else fails you can just go the sarcastic route like me. =)

MistaCloudStrife: It worked. I gave her a little gift and took her to the local zoo.. and viola, I was able to buy the game without getting insulted for it. So now I can finally play KH :).

Haha! One of my friends actually doesn't like Aerith. So, when she showed up in the game, my friend was like,"...I killed you once.. WHY WON'T YOU DIE!?!!?"

It was histerical, at the time. But Aerith's awesome; as many people already know. =D
