Title: Destroying The Flowers
Description: in AC

Ok, so this kind of disturbs me and maybe you feel the same too.

As you all have seen, all through out AC, Aerith's flowers keep getting attacked. They get fought on, passed out in, rode through on a motorcycle, ect ect. And to tell the truth, this upsets me. <_< I mean, these flowers are a huge reminder of Aerith but they keep getting abused and abused over and over again! Even by Cloud!

You would think that because they were hers and he'd been living by them, he'd care for them. Or maybe not?

What do you think?

Well, you never know, maybe Cloud was caring for them before the battle. I am sure he was more concerned with eliminating Kadaj than he was in protecting Aerith's flowers during such an intense chase. I am sure that, if he'd had a choice, he would have kept the battle completely away from Aerith's church. But, he had to follow the bad guy, so...

But, yeah, I hear ya... when I saw those scenes in AC, I was all, "Hey, WTF, stop crushing the &%$^ flowers!!!" I was also pissed when I saw part of Aerith's church get destroyed. <_<

I agree with both of you. I wind up yelling at the TV every time I watch AC to leave the poor flowers alone! When the church becomes even more destroyed, it's just like, "Come on! Is it not good enough that almost a whole side of the church is gone already?!"

I think this avatar sums up our frustrations:

I agree FF_G, if Cloud had had the chance, I don't think he would have brought the fight to Aerith's church.

Yeah, I didn't like the dismantling of parts of Aerith's church, either. I was especially annoyed when her flowerbed was flooded near the end, but now I'm over it. It was for a good cause.... I wonder if it will stay that way?

The whole Great Gospel-like scene where the water attacks Kadaj... Maybe that's Aerith saying "Stay the #*^@ out of my flowers!"

I'm a little iffy on this one. I love flowers and of course the ones in Aerith's church are beautiful but when Kadaj destroyed them it saved Cloud's life which Aerith would of course want more than her flowers.

This is true beyond a doubt. Cloud loves Aerith and everything that represents her so destruction of her flowers and part of her church would of course make him upset and angry, which was clearly shown in AC.

Nah...seriously this scene drives me crazy too!But i guess Cloud had no other choice

HA HA HA! That's awsome.

But yeah... I think the Cloti shippers totally got ahold of those parts and went WWIII on her Church.

I hope Cloud keeps to her flowers after the fight.

I think the Church was an extremely important aspect of AC that's why the characters (especially Cloud) always come back to it may it to use it as a room, a fight arena, a pool with kickass healing properties, or just merely a shortcut to some random battle grounds...at the expense of Aerith's beautiful flowers.

And yeah, I'm guessing Cloud still cares for the flowers past AC. He has used it as a bed and cushion one too many times to not love them. And they're Aerith's after all.

I was so mad when Loz and Tifa were destroying the church and the flowers...I was like, "Hey, it's only acceptable when Cloud is the one doing that!"

xLightfootx - January 4, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah! I get so angry, too.
It's like, "DUDE. DON'T YOU NOTICE THAT YOU'RE FIGHTING ON A GARDEN!?"

But, once again, like many people have already said, if Cloud had a choice, he'd probably keep the battles away from the church. :cleris:

When I first saw Aerith's church being destroyed by Tifa and Loz I was like  'what the...? Stop trashing the place will ya?' ... I mean the church is a sacred place and should be respected as such. But I cant do anything about it.

What really put me off was when Cloud broke down the doors of the church. I mean cant he just barge in and fight Kadaj? His bike wasnt of use anyway. It just trashed the whole place. If Aerith was there...I wouldnt want to know what she'll do to the both of them... :lmao:

I don't really care if the flowers were ruined during Kadaj and Cloud's fight because Cloud's geostigma was healed. I was irritated during Loz and Tifa's fight, they could've just fought outside the church. Its more spacious, really.

If Aerith was still alive and saw Loz stepping on her flowers, I bet she'll be the one who is going to fight Loz. She doesn't want anyone stepping on her flowers. Its like..

STAY AWAY FROM THE FLOWERS or DIE!

You don't want to make Aerith mad.

OMG!! I'm so in love with flowers.. So.. Honestly, when I was first watching AC, I really mad at every characters ruined the flowers..

But after watching it like 100 times, I'm already over it.. I just like huh, whatever <_<

To think deeply.. For me, the purpose of those scenes was to establish the fact that Aerith is still watching over them.. Since all of that scenes always end with Aerith healing..

As for Cloud, I think he didn't has other choice..
*strangely has image on head of Cloud decently got off his bike, open the door, and got up his bike again, then.. then.. urgh, better not going to continue*

He and Kadaj still in motorbike chase sequence, anyway.. So they better continue in their motorcycle, or this scene would be weird.. Especially Kadaj was still on his bike.. It's like Cloud said "You silver hair freak! Get out of *coughmyhousecough*! Don't you see my bed there?!?" :lmao:

I believe Cloud always keep watching/guarding the flowers, though.. Because, I remember in the scene when he was coming back to the church and doing 'the catwalk', he stopped at the verge on the flowerbed, and staring at them, before he accidentally found Tifa.. It's like he always doing that everytime he went to the church..

OK now I don't know if I make any sense

I know! D; the flowers ;-;

And i just want to know, at the end of AC, is aerith's flower bed completely destroyed? ( there is like a huge pool of water where they use to be D: )

Yeah, it seemed like he really knew the Church by heart and that it had already become a habit that everytime he went there, he'd take that many steps before reaching the flower bed and that he didn't exactly need to use his eyes to know where he was going. He really kept on coming back there.

I love flowers as well, but the one issue I had with AC is when Tifa was laying in it. Cloud was like, hey Tifa, get out of Aeris' flower bed already! Hehe, no, he wasn't like that. XD What I noticed the most about flowers, though, was the ending when we see Cloud riding his motorcycle and Aeris waiting in the field of flowers. At the very end right before the screen fades, we see those same flowers from the field placed before a picture frame. Looks to me like Cloud had just gone to see Aeris in that field and had brought back some flowers. :) It's like they have another special flowery place to meet besides the church. Probably because Aeris had left the church at the end of AC.
